Well I hope you enjoyed looking at my art, and if you didn't let me know how I can improve it. If you want, Thanks~ ^_^

Howdy!

I think your art is quite nice! You're pretty creative and have lots of unique poses and colours, which I like a lot. I see a lot of artists getting stuck in a rut, drawing the same poses over and over, but you have a lot of variety. Clearly, you've been clearly inspired by anime. You say you want to go into art in the future, may I ask what you want to do in art? I'm just curious. (:

Anyways, if I were you, I'd practice drawing hands. Try and take pictures of your own hand in a whole bunch of different poses and try and draw them. You can also use stock images you find online, if you don't have a camera. Drawing hands is pretty critical and while it may be easier to just have the character have their hands behind their back or have hair conveniently falling over their arms/hands, it's something every artist needs to learn eventually. I thought your hands in the Dare peice were pretty good, but in some of your other pieces, your fingers don't quite make sense in relation to the hand and arm position.

Overall, I think your style is really nice and colourful. Just keep practicing and challenging yourself to draw things that are difficult, as that is the best way to improve. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help. c:

Oh thank you very much, I appreciate it. I didn't know I was that good ^_^ but I wanna be a cartoonist, Ive looked up several jobs to work for and Ive came on comic book work like the sketching out part. I dont think I'm rather good at inking though, I would like to work in a studio making movies and shows. I always wanted to be accepted into Nickelodeon and dream works, ever since I saw sponge-bob AWW monsters and danny phantom. Plus I love every movie dream-works takes in. But I am currently working on hands, that's always been a thing of mine. Different head designs, hands and feet are my more current work. Zia the first one Wonderland and noodle are my more reason work which is why They have there hands showing. but thank you very much and I will try harder at the hand thing ^_^

Ah, that's very exciting. I wish you all the luck in the world trying to accomplish your dreams. I think it would be a lot of fun to work for both Nickelodeon or Dreamworks. I'm assuming you'd need to have some digital and animation experience, as well.

Don't worry about hands, they're difficult for my artists, I believe. They are a bit weird and if they're not perfectly drawn, they look super odd.

Also, you mentioned that you don't think you're good at inking. From what I've found, people are afraid of inking because they don't want to ruin something they drew. So, try scanning your pieces and inking the copy until you get comfortable working in pen. Also, getting real inking pens (I prefer Copic brand, but any will work) will help. Using your run of the mill ballpoint pen won't do you any favours. Inking pens can be a bit expensive, but will save you some headache in the long run.

Hi there.

Just skimming your artwork, I can see you have a good grasp on proportions. Even in some of the sketches, the way you draw legs and fingers have a good shape to them. I'm assuming some are traced and that's totally fine for practice and getting the feel of a proper shape.. Don't worry about trying to free draw hands and fingers yet, unless you really want to focus on refining them first. As I look closer, I see you working with color and that's great too. Some artists are afraid to work with color, but you've tackled it head on, which again is really great.

I need to find some synonyms.

How far would you like me to offer constructive critique? Because if you'd like for me to offer pointers on these sketches and ideas for you to practice, I'll certainly offer them. But all in all, pretty good start.

Thank you @Mordecai, It would be very fun to work for though company's. Also I do have some digital experiences, I currently don't have any of them up here but I can add a few of the projects Ive worked on in graphic arts class. I am currently trying to take every possible art class there is, from fine arts, to digital. I'm even about to hire a tutor for my self to help out when I'm not doing something artistic. And the pen thing is very accurate, I do hate ruining my drawling so I don't usually color them in. and I don't have a printer or scanner so I basically just gotta wing it most days. And I shall check out the pens, I'm trying to see which color devises I like. I mostly use colored pencils, which coasted me like two hundred dollords, so they have to be good. (actually someone bought them for me for my birthday but eh >w>)

And @Wreck Thank you as well, I do trace some of my art but most of is actually free hand. Like the three middle bunnys are free hand, first and last Zia are free. wonderland is my shoe anime girl and noodle of course are not but the rest is. So thank you For thinking they were traced and thinking I have good proportions. But as you can see they are ALL girls because I can not figure out a males frame. I can easily jaught down a female frame but male I just go dumbfounded. So I am working on that but losing... And yea I figure its either now or never with color even if it gets my drawling destroyed I can just make a new right (no not really I just cry in a corner with my stuff duck when I mess up QAQ) but please go as far as you want. I Actually like the critique, It makes me want to better my self. and even when someone says They love my work I try to denie its any good and work harder for even better. I dont want to just be good I want to be one of the best, and my goal is to have a doctor in arts. And yes I do know How long and how many years of school it will take. But I am willing to spend every day of my life 24 hours just staring at art, learning about it and drawling it my self. Art is my life and I really don't know what to do without it.

Heyho,

so, I flew over your stuff and the critique of the others and I think it has great potential, especially if you go for a 'quick and dirty'- Style like the Gorillaz. What I would advice you to do is practise heads and faces, since those either make-or-break a character. Like Mordecai stated, hands are a pain, but everyone needs to learn them at some point or another and getting them right will improve your art tremendously.

And the following might be just me, but I always feel like an artist is better off learning on their own instead of having a specific tutor telling them what they are supposed to do. For example, I greatly enjoyed playing around with Adobe Illustrator, watched some tutorials on my own rather than being told to do so and learned by recreating and playing with the tools I learned through recreating the picture of whatever I did. The end result is that I'm decent at using Adobe Illustrator, but furthermore, I can deal with requests and issues without needing to ask someone who is an expert. I can come up with my own ways to solve an issue. And I feel having a tutor tell you what you need to do in order to become better at art compromises your joy and interesst in drawing or gives you more reason to slack off, because the topic doesn't interesst you enough to bother. So I would recommend looking at other peoples art, trying to recreate it yourself and learning a thing or two from tutorials if you get stuck in order to learn to become independend and adding to your own style.

I hope this wasn't too confusing, but that simply what I have gathered so far.

I can tell by these drawings that you are "brushing" with the pencil as you draw (making small stroke over and over to create a longer stroke), am I right? I suggest trying to plan your strokes beforehand and make them as long as you can. Once you learn this you will be able to vary the pressure on the pencil point to get a more dynamic and clean looking line-art :) It's hard and frustrating to learn in the start, but well worth it in the end! Good luck :D

I'm assuming this is genuine so to this I say you're welcome! Like I said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with tracing when you're first starting out in order to get a understanding of the human shape. But don't get too comfortable with tracing; it's too easy to get caught up in it. And it is obvious to other artists ;) .

Hey, if you can only draw girls right now then that's fine! You have plenty of time to learn the proper male torso anatomy. For me, it took a few years to draw a male torso correctly. And I'm a dude. Don't get discouraged just because you still have a lot to learn. We all still do.

Now denying yourself when someone says your art is good is definitely not a good habit to get into. It's hard to get out of. But during the first few years that you're actually serious about learning art you do need a degree of self-criticism. Just... be careful. The art field is highly competitive. If you start tearing yourself down to the ground now, you'll never get that doctorate in arts ;)

Thanks everyone, I never thought so many people would like it. I actually thought maybe one or two people might comment. So thanks this actually makes me really happy ^_^

And yea I'm working on them right now, I just tried to do a piece with hands today and finished. I do try to vary though one were I use hands and were I use "paws" (just round shaped hands) Like in my comical comics I will just make paw hands but I will try to make real hands on non comic pieces. Depending on how dedicated I am to that art piece.

Yes I do brush, I actually love the way things look when they are brushed like that. Now If I am going to ink and colour it in I do straight lines. But most times if I stick to pencil I do love the brushing effect. but I will try to do more straight lines with pencils. So thank you ^_^

And I am sorry if I seemed like I was being a smart-ass or something, I did actually mean thank you. Cause it made me proud to think someone thought I traced a lot of it. When This was my ideas, from my itsy brain. But I will admit that when I get stuck like on a hand or leg position I will quickly look up how it is placed. But most times I do try to stray from tracing to much, And just stick to my stuff.

And yes my family and even my teacher sometimes get annoyed on how far I try to critique my self, I just always felt that I cant love my work. I gotta constantly strive for better and never be happy with were I am in art. It just feels odd to not think badly of my self...its weird and I will try to work in loving my art.

Also here's that piece I made today, I will admit I like this one. And do like it. Now I just gotta be brave enough to ink and color QAQ so much fear....

@Calalily

That's a really nice piece, actually. The foreshortening of her hand and the way the blood (I'm assuming it's blood) is dripping down is very accurate. One thing though is the amount of fingers she has on her hand (4 as opposed to 5) but that could just be your style. Either way, it's good. Honestly, other than those things it could use some ink and color. Would look nice as a digital piece as well. :)
