Hey there! I just joined myself and want to get back into writing too. Just coming off a two year break from the hobby, how about you?

Kind of the same story with me, too. I stopped roleplaying for about a year or two, and I'd like to get back into it. I tried to get back into it on some other sites, and even though I managed to do some roleplaying, those sites are kind of dead... so I wanted to go somewhere more active!

Yeah, I tried searching for my old forum and its not even online anymore. This place looks like one of the more active sites so I'm pretty excited. I'm a little out of practice but I'm looking for something on the paragraph/detailed side. What kind of roleplays are you looking for?

Makes sense. I'm sorry that other site is gone! I love detailed roleplays with long posts, although I don't like trying to squeeze out tons of writing every single post. I feel like two to three paragraphs is good on average, and a lot more when the roleplay actually calls for it. I love fantasy/adventure/action stuff, and character development and drama, though I admit I'm not overly fond of romance.

Bud, you just described me to a T. I can get carried away though and write for paragraphs when I'm inspired, but like you said 2-3 can suffice just as well. Big into Fantasy specifically the more dark/low fantasy stuff though I've dabbled in high fantasy. Character development is my shit.

That's awesome! Since I haven't written anything or roleplayed in quite a while, I feel rusty concerning all this stuff, but I do want to get back into it. I've rarely ever done modern fantasies, so I think something like that could be fun. I think it could be entertaining to create some kind of world where people know about fantasy creatures and magic and nobody has to hide the fact that they're magical. I don't think I've seen many modern stories do that (though I'm also not very familiar with modern stories, so don't take my word for it) and I'd be really curious to see what would change in a world like that.
I grew up on medieval fantasy, though, and I'm still partial to it.

I tend to shy away from the more magical stuff unless you got a reliable partner/good core group of people. It's hard to keep people reigned in and also consistent. I'll always be a sucker for and want to jump into a well thought out original content medieval world though. Don't have the free time to fully flesh one out myself (because I'd go bananas) but love participating in one that someone put their heart and soul into. Makes it feel that much more "real".

Yeah, I don't even bother with group RPs at all these days, I've gotten far too irritated with them in the past. I feel like developing a good plot and characters in a 1x1 setting is much more interesting and satisfying.
I'll let ya know if I ever find something interesting though!
