Hello everyone. I am very new to these forums, brand new in fact, but not really new to roleplay. I am, however, quite rusty. I'm on Gaia as well and normally would just stick with it, but Gaia is having some site issues or some balderdash. Don't know. But I like this site already so far, and am excited to branch out into new horizons or whatever.

I tend to have a slight preference for slice of life stuff, but can be coaxed into fantasy or sci fi with the right plot or pairing or what have you. Super excited to jump into the swing of things. Very excited to be here, hope to speak with and/or roleplay with some or most of you soon!
 
Mine isn't either, it's really embarrassing. So zero judgment here, I also really, really need to jump back into the swing of things. And same! Looking forward to it!
 
Great! And no judgement from my end, either: I was only a combat tournament guy YEARS back. I've been casual every other time, lol. I'm about as chill as they come o3o
 
That's great, same really aha. I can't handle much more than casual, otherwise I start doubting myself and overthinking errthing aha
 
Yeah, it's a strange "invisible wall" type of thing, right? After you post something that's above your norm, it SUCKS when someone craps all over it. That's totally happened to me before. It's one big reason I casual: Who has time to take themselves too seriously? :P
 
Lol YES. Or just doesn't respond, which...is the silent way of shitting all over it. Lol. It's embarrassing! Especially when I was really proud of it beforehand. I'm gonna adopt that philosophy, too busy to take myself seriously haha
 
Well, I definitely feel like I'm on the same page as you lol. Been there, done that. For the past few years I've just kinda been consumed by school and life, and a lot of my friends are as well, so RP hasn't been much of a thing for me. But my brain always comes up with new junk for my own personal canon (I'm designing a game shortly after I graduate. It'll take forever, but still.) and it keeps reminding me: I miss RPing, whether it's my own canon, someone else's, or just something random xD
It's therapeutic.
 
Honestly same! Got into partying and a bunch of other stuff. Then I had a kid. And I stopped reading, which inspired a lot of my roleplaying. That's something I still need to get back to. And school, too. That is sooo freaking cool that you're designing a game! I wish I could. I'm horrible at ideas and have very little creativity for someone who likes to roleplay so I don't think I ever will but I'm very impressed. :) I tend to dip back into roleplaying when I get really into a show or game or something that I want to play out more these days, (The latest one being The Last Of Us. Ughhh I'm obsessed still) but now the bug has stuck even past the craving this time, so here I am.
 
Designing a game is kind of fun, but it can be a mess sometimes. Far as a story goes, my courses really helped my wild imagination shape what I needed to to make it more than just some anime fan's ravings (Which was totally what my ideas were before, in all honesty.) It all really starts with a character, what they want, and what's getting in their way. After I get those down, a whole story kinda just fills out. ^^
