A lil random but I figured I'd share the new artwork Atlus put out for Metaphor in honor of being nominated for a bunch of awards coming up and thought it'd be nice to show a lil Eupha stuff even if she isn't the main focus of the piece. I need to show her more love anyways in talks here

While we never get much of a look into romantic themes in Metaphor, Eupha ironically is one of the characters that does show hints. Romance, while not at the forefront of her concerns, is very based on trust among her people and a strong belief in being able to share ones feelings properly with another. It is definitely serious and not some easy to come by thing with her
You know I showed the first handshake scene for her, but not the second one which I think shows how she is towards romance

This should start at the second scene and no need to watch everything else

Ren on the other hand can be a little harder to pin down on what his thoughts are. He is occasionally prodded about romance, but he's very quiet about his love life. He definitely doesn't shy away from it, and does partake in playful flirting. It is hinted in some of the mangas he's a bit awkward with it, but can smooth talk his way out of things like that. He definitely doesn't make it a priority, but ya know he's a teenage boy LOL

Romance for Gorgo is kind of pick and choose. It's hard to tell between the relationship between Leonidas and Gorgo.

Lucius is married and has a kid (shhh spoilers, not really).

Marius's thoughts on romance is more likely to avoid it, unless it involved battle.

(Please excuse me while I ramble about 2003 lmao)

So unlike in Brotherhood, 2003 Edward doesn’t canonically get together with anyone by the end of the series. After all, the shows places a lot of emphasis on how he and Al effectively end up isolating themselves from their friends and loved ones throughout their adventure out of fear that they’ll get hurt, especially when it comes to characters like Winry, so it’d feel out of place with that to just have Edward get together with her anyways, especially considering the ending. He just isn’t in the place emotionally to be able to open up with another person like that just quite yet.

However, the series does occasionally still allude to potential relationships with characters like Winry, Noah, and Rose throughout the show, with Ed getting all blushy when any of the other characters tease him about it. However even then there’s a moment where a character does outright confess to him where Ed rejects it and states they’re just friends but granted I think(?) this whole confession was a thing exclusive to the dub, and also the character was like uber drugged up so it really wouldn’t have been the appropriate time to accept a confession either way.

So I think looking at how he acts in canon, all of this would probably reflect how Edward might feel about romance in general.

I personally like to think that even if Ed himself doesn’t feel like he’s in the right position for romance, there’s still a part of him that might still yearn for the ability to be emotionally vulnerable with another person, whether romantically or platonically, and I think that on a personal writing level it could be a really interesting thing to explore!

Kunikida comes off as someone who looks at Dazai strictly as friends more than anything romantic they act like a married couple shhh. Yeah can’t see it working except as platonic relationship between. Dazai is commonly shipped with another Bungou Stray Dogs character since he’s not in the rp I’ll leave it here.

Oh, I don't know, honestly. There isn't really a lot of evidence or reading between the lines I can do for Komaeda. He doesn't really have much in terms of exploring with his character and other characters don't make comments about his sexuality or anything.

It's not like there's a character he consistently teases and is willing to open up to. He never really makes flirtatious, complimentary or even suggestive remarks towards anyone. He never even confesses his love during the end of his Free Time Events. Or worries about being seen as weird in front of someone during a Shot Through the Heart minigame. If only he called someone his significant other during anime promotional material.

Okay, but the serious answer is, the only thing I can tell you is Komaeda's love language is touch. He is very casual about touching others and by proxy is okay with others touching him, even if its aggressive or hostile. This tends to follow him in every media he is in, anime, ova, manga, stage play ect. He is often abrupt or in people's personal spaces, but he means well. He mostly does this to comfort himself and others, he is very sweet towards his classmates it's a shame how much they beat on him.

The parallels between Hinata and Komaeda are so crazy, man.

It's not even just on the surface level of Hinata being talentless and Komaeda has talent, and their views both contrast and parallels one another. Because both of them are self-depreciating and see no value in themselves because of Ultimates as a social concept. Both of them are self-sacrificing, Hinata is such a kind-hearted person that he willing to get into fights with Ultimate staff members over disregarding and shoving a Reserve Course Student's death under the rug. And Komaeda is self-sacrificing because he sees himself as merely a steppingstone for Ultimates, he put such faith into Hope's Peak Academy, because society warped his views.

The Reserve Course was used as funding and the students were lab rats. Hinata was used for both his lack of talent and when he became the Ultimate Hope. Him joining the Kamukura Project represents the societal pressures of being something unique and was willing to scarifies himself for the sake of what he thought would bring him happiness and fitting in. But because Hope's Peak Academy never saw Hinata as a person, they regressed his hobbies, emotions, personality, and memories. Taking away his autonomy.

Hinata outstretching his hand, only for Komaeda to take it showcases that not only have they come to a mutual understanding but respect for themselves. Komaeda recognizes that talent, deep down, was something he always hated, that there is more to him then just how useful he can be to others. Not only does Hinata acknowledges his self-worth, but he comes to accept a part of himself he didn't want to acknowledge, Kamukura. Because Kamukura represents the length people will go to become something they are not. He represents the abuse people inflect on others to mold them into something selfish. He represented the pain and suffering Hinata endured as a human experiment. A reminder of how blind Kamukura was to refer to the very scientist and surgeons that abused him as 'teachers'. Yet he accepts him in the end, accepts the flaws of being human and accepts Komaeda's flaws too.

Because talent isn't what makes a person, it's who you are that does.

This was supposed to be about parallels and themes of Danganronpa and it just became me rambling about Hinata.

Zenitsu's cares ALOT about romance. It has to do with growing up without parents and now knowing the love of a familly. He wanted love and that first got him into trouble as the many girls he first dated him used him and drove him to finantial debt before dumping him for other man and leaving him with the debt collectors.
Fortunatly, former Thunder hashira Jigoro Kuwajima saved him from that and took him under his wing,becoming the grandfather that Zenitsu never had.

Back on the subject of romance, Zenitsu during his first days as a Demon Slayer wanted despertly to marry every girl he met,begging them to marry him...until he met Tanjiro...and Nezuko.

Even before encountering her physically,he first protected her from Inosuke without knowung her. He knew there was a demon but still protected the box because he trusted Tanjiro. He knew by his sounds.
After meeting Nezuko and falling in love with her,Zenitsu became slowly but surely less of a simp. His heart belonged to Nezuko. He wanted to help his brother restore her humanity.

He also respected women even more, like he did during thr infiltration mission in the Entertainment district whrn he heard a girl crying then later defended her from a disguised Daki.

He even forced Daki to apologise to the girl during the fight against her and her brother and Co Upper Moon 6 Gyutaro.
