Morning friends!! Random question of the day: what are some pet peeves your characters have?
Komaeda's pet peeve is people not understanding things fast enough. Things like, not sounding confident in their guesses, second guessing his explanations, dismissing his ideologies and not catching onto class trail details. This can make his response vary from sarcasm to outbursts.

He struggles to understand that some people aren't as perceptive or need more time to put things together then him. He often overhauls the class trails, getting in the protagonist/player's way of solving the mystery. He probably feels like the characters aren't taking him or the situation seriously enough.

Examples:
Nanami Chiaki: "That's wrong! ...I think."
Komaeda Nagito: "...Did you say something?"

Kuzuryu Fuyuhiko: "What is this "Octagon"? I haven't heard about that yet."
Komaeda Nagito: "Oh my- ...I can't believe I have to explain that now."

Soda Kazuichi: "Then let's start with something even Miss Sonia can understand: the weapon."
Komaeda Nagito: "...Huh?"
Soda Kazuichi: "Well... the weapon is obvious, right?"
Komaeda Nagito: "...Huh?!"

Pet peeves my characters have:
Gorgo: When men underestimate her and what she can do when her back is against a wall.
Marius/Democles: Being underestimated by a enemy.
Lucius: Ignored and pushed aside

Hehe this is page 69, nice
Morning friends!! Random question of the day: what are some pet peeves your characters have?
other races, as you’ll see in chapter 2x and 3 of andaron saga he absolutely shit talks about centaurs calling them horses (which in andaron saga, calling a centaur a horse is basically the equivalent of calling a black person the n word if you’re not black, also fun fact: centaurs call horses ”beasts of burden”) and Mindless brutes, which they aren’t as they value glory and only attack people if they’re armed and there’s the same amount of centaurs as there are people, and they’ll only set aside their morals if they wronged them, he’s a little calmer on the other race, the firis (which are basically half dragon half people) actually barely being racist towards them, aside from calling them scalies (which is basically like a bully nickname, one of the playable firis in the game, Jaheira actually has a human equivalent of scaley, softskin)

So a lot of these are very well established character traits to the point it kinda feels like beating a dead horse even mentioning them so to get those ones quickly out of the way…
  1. Any height related comments, we get it he’s a little shrimpy pipsqueak!
  2. Calling alchemy magic
  3. People mistaking his brother for the Fullmetal Alchemist.
  4. Mustang, just Mustang in general/hj

But for the sake of not sounding like a broken record here’s something that might not technically count as a pet peeve but is still something that ticks Ed off a whole bunch:

idk how to say this concisely but Edward especially holds a huge disdain for when someone manipulates him or other people for the sake of their own personal goals. Whether it be Mustang using Ed as a tool to help him become the fuhrer (because fun fact in 03 Ed actually doesn’t immediately start out being annoyed by him, it’s only after the train incident where Ed realized Mustang completely manipulated the entire situation without telling him that Ed really forms that established dynamic with him) or Dante literally pulling the strings behind everything that’s going on, Edward absolutely hates it when people treat other individuals as nothing but pawns in their own little game and it’s a guaranteed way to get him to automatically distrust you.

Also by extension, he gets super annoyed when people willingly choose to withhold information from him, especially if they literally know that it’s something Edward is personally invested in.

Hmmm py is very much a people pleaser, to the point where even his own preferences are pushed aside for others. So I dont think he has many if any pet peeves at all. Not ones that can be obviously pointed out anyways. Though he does have a strong sense of justice/fairness, so when people are bullied/discriminated against, that bothers him for sure. Especially since he himself grew up being bullied.

You know, I've been thinking for a while about Ed's view on god(s)/the universe. I don't remember the 03 anime much, so things could be different from broho, but I remember that Ed has a sort of disdain for religion/gods considering his uh. Let's say affiliation with Truth.
This got me thinking about how he'd react to the Greek gods being real, at least in py's world. And how py's half god, and also came back from the dead lol. I mean yeah so did (03) Ed in a way, but fighting your way out of the underworld and forcing your own resurrection is one thing and replacing the life of your doppelganger from another universe is. Very different lol. I mean. At least in Ed's case there's still equivalent exchange. For py, it was godly magical interference, a whole lot of stubbornness, and determination. And having a god bring you your gear from when you were alive to help you make it out of the underworld lol

Winry’s pet peeves are wars and well all her hard work on her auto mail thrown away hello Ed!

Reading this and remembering our brief talks about Ed and Komaeda made me feel like a dad trying to get his son to make friends, I'm so serious.

Points at Sheep and Ed
Look, Komaeda, he could be a potential friend. He seems like a very understanding guy and treats people equally. He won't undermine you and is more likely to understand your struggles as he is disabled himself. He even has a friend who makes prosthetics, this could be a great opportunity to get comfortable enough to open up.

Sheep: "Ed doesn't like manipulators or people who withhold information."

Looks at Sheep then turns back to Komaeda
...
...I got bad news, buddy.

Sfshfhsef so I have many, many, many thoughts but to keep things from becoming a word vomit I’m going to break them down into bite size digestible sections that’ll hopefully keep things easy to understand. Also, 2003 as a series doesn’t exactly give answers to everything, especially when it comes to the more philosophical ideas and themes, so know that when I’m discussing this it’s primarily from either Edward’s or other characters’ interpretations or my own personal understanding of the series.

You know, I've been thinking for a while about Ed's view on god(s)/the universe. I don't remember the 03 anime much, so things could be different from broho, but I remember that Ed has a sort of disdain for religion/gods considering his uh. Let's say affiliation with Truth.
So to quickly get one thing out of the way, the entity known as Truth doesn’t exist in 2003 and The Gate itself functions very differently.

So unlike in Brotherhood, each individual doesn’t have their own separate gate (well, they sort of do, but it’s more like a smaller set of doors that connects to the overall flow of the main gain, at least that’s how Hohenheim explains it from what I remember). Rather, The Gate is a lot more of a literal…well, gate that connects Amestris with the world on the other side. And how alchemy works is that, when someone on the other side of the gate dies, the energy created from their death is transferred to the other side of the gate, providing the energy needed in order to create a transmutation.

So while 2003 Ed is an atheist, it carries a very different meaning from Broho’s “I’ve met the closest thing to god and still reject it” since it’s shown that The Gate really isn’t ‘the answer’ to the universe/the closest thing to god as 2003 Edward mistakenly understood it to initially be.

I mean yeah so did (03) Ed in a way, but fighting your way out of the underworld and forcing your own resurrection is one thing and replacing the life of your doppelganger from another universe is. Very different lol. I mean.
So to quickly clear that up, Edward taking the place of London!Ed actually has very little to do with how he was able to be brought back to life. Rather when it comes to how he was able to be resurrected, that happened because Alphonse had become the philosopher stone (While is a wholeeeee other story lmao), and used souls in the stone to basically create a new body for Edward (hence why when he was brought back he got his arm and leg) and to drag his soul back from the gate and yeet it on into the new body.

(sefbsbfs also I have to admit my interpretation of Edward replacing his doppelgänger is more metaphorical and headcanony than it is literal canon. The legitimate in text purpose of London!Ed’s death in the actual show is to showcase how the deaths on our side of the gate are what fuel transmutations, as that whole shebang actually happens a little before Edward legit dies.

At least in Ed's case there's still equivalent exchange.
So about that….
One of the primary themes of 2003 is actually how equivalent exchange, at least how Edward and Alphonse understand, is an inherently flawed philosophy that is near completely incompatible with how the world genuinely works. Idk if you remember, but the whole confrontation scene between him and Dante + The reveal that the energy used in transmutations directly comes from the deaths of people on the other side of the gate basically serves to showcase the flaws of this philosophy to Ed and how there actually isn’t any equivalency in how the world works. Any transmutations are inherently an unfair act, and in general despite how much effort you put in, very often you won’t get the same amount of results back.

but to finally bring this all together That’s actually a very good question…that I’ll need to think over some more to reach a proper answer. Dshfjdsfuys I’m sorry that after all of this clarification I didn’t manage to give a clear cut answer, I just wanna do a bit more thinking/interepting in regards to the implications of all of this information before I reach of definite conclusion in how Edward would react to the sudden confirmed existence of god lol. Ig at the end of the day though, the one thing that’d save him from completely going insane it’s the knowledge that Pyralis comes from an entirely different universe so hey, who knows how the heck things work over there! But trust me I promise I will eventually come back to this, now you’ve got me all invested lmao.

Dbvbvfdudnc I mean Ed was eventually able to reach a general understanding and some level of respect for Mustang as a person by the end of the series, so not all hope is lost…but yeah it might take a while for Ed to come around on Nagito 😅

Okay, I've tried waiting long enough, but I can't have the group keep waiting on one person. So I will be writing for B & P later tonight, no ifs ands or buts about it

Shhddhfh thank you for clarifying all that! Again, it's been AGES since I watched 03, and I only watched it through 1x where I watched broho like 3 or 4x hshdhdb and much more recently.

But I will look forward to seeing how you and Ed figure out all the. Uh. Everything lol. It really intrigues me, the whole duality of it all. Dhdhdh

Apologies on being off topic but my muse took a bit of a dip and I’m feeling a bit of writer’s block so I figured before the next cycle comes up I’d say that I might not be posting very quickly (very unlikely in the 4 day cycle). If those interacting with me would prefer to move on without me, feel free. Figured a heads up would be nice before things moved again

XD she’s too cute and precious she must be protected
Can’t wait for Linkle’s optimism to start affecting everyone down the line 🥺 hoping that everyone goes “protect her at all costs” by the end of the journey
As soon as an enemy lays a scratch on Linkle the rest of the group absolutely obliterate the poor soul who did such a thing XD
Morning friends!! Random question of the day: what are some pet peeves your characters have?
Carmen has a few pet peeves. First of all, overly selfish people who don't see the harm in wanting and greed. She knows that stealing does in fact harm people, so she gets really mad when others just take without thinking of the consequences.
She also dislikes overly controlling people or surroundings, which is why she doesn't really vibe with any sort of authority in her life. It's either her way or the highway (for the most part). She CAN follow other's orders, only if she wholeheartedly agrees with them. Otherwise, she'll do whatever the hell she wants.
So basically she hates greedy jerks or control freaks. Capeesh? XD

And not too much to say for Linkle, though I think she would definitely hate know-it-alls, or people who give unsolicited advice.
Literally her lmao:

That's fine, don't feel pressured to write if you don't want to. Just let your muse come back naturally, and you can jump back in whenever you're ready :]

I appreciate it. Just don’t want people to feel like they gotta stick with me if they wanna push forward. I’ll figure things out if people end up moving on and my characters are left behind. I dunno why my muse just died but man I just don’t wanna write

The post for the Herbs is up! Sorry if it's a bit shorter than usual, I just didn't want things to move TOO fast. After all the characters have to move from the front of the cabin, across the plains, and to the castle-town. They can't be zooming at the speed of sound lol

Mmm still feeling sick I’ll work on mushing Aku’s and Kunikida’s posts together
