Hey, there! Looking for some RP, hope to get a bite or so. Just shoot me a DM if you're interested!
Hey! I'm a male in the Eastern time zone (UTC-4), but I work from home so my hours tend to be all over the place. I'd RPed for several years before life got in the way and so I was on hiatus for a few years, and now I'm looking to get back into things. I'm really big on multiple characters and long-term plots with the hope of being friends with RPers so we can continue playing with characters in other stories. I don't have many limitations or triggers on content, and my posts will vary in length depending on what I feel is appropriate. My biggest weakness is probably occasionally being too expository, so if that happens, I'm open to criticism and sometimes I just need a reminder to focus on more colorful parts of roleplaying since I can get stuck on one gear.
I'm of the opinion that ghosting is the biggest problem the RP community as a whole, and you won't get that from me. I try to post at least once per day and frequently posting more if you're also active, and if something comes up (work's made me travel a lot lately), there'll be a heads-up for sure.
That said, I am really interested in worldbuilding, and all my characters have histories, abilities, and motivations, and they will engage with the world and people in it. I like to create a cast of diverse characters like a versatile Dungeons and Dragons party where you have sort of "one of every flavor" in what people can do, and while I'll have established main characters, I'll bring in additional characters more based on what my RP partner is coming up with in order to promote said versatility.
I'm heavily influenced by Final Fantasy and Dungeons & Dragons, so expect a lot of adventuring, lots of power/spell/ability flinging, big, climactic moments of drama and betrayal and friendship and unity and stuff like that, as well as overcoming "big bads" in large battles.
I don't like being shoehorned into roles (usually for romantic plots) and don't require romance; it's a matter of seeing what happens, though a small spattering of characters are strictly off-limits for romance. I do play exclusively heterosexual (majority of my batch of characters) or pansexual (minor of my batch) males, though, except for occasional minor NPC encounters.
Also, finally, every plot I throw out can be modified to some degree to suit both our tastes. I basically only really have a "beginning" and a "direction" in mind--somewhere to start, something to strive for.
You like out of character chatter and you're fairly active. If life gets in the way or you need a break or whatever, you'll let me know, and ideally would let me know if you're thinking it'll be short term (a few days), a longer hiatus, or that the RP just isn't working out. I don't necessarily need to know WHY since your business is your business. But I hope we'll also be friends.
You also are willing to breathe some life into any world, coming up with your own characters' backgrounds and motivations (not every character needs to just "get along because good deed is good so do good deed") and are not afraid to play with multiple characters, and you play primarily female characters to balance the males I throw into things.
But that's it, I'm not really demanding a whole lot, and I have no requirements for post length--"whatever you're comfortable with, whatever you think is appropriate."
Magic is a widely used tool of sorts that many races have developed, enough that there are even various forms of it from Necromancy to Summoning. However, Humanity seems to be the only race that hasn't really grasped it, though not for lack of trying. Furthermore, the way it's used typically involves runes or sigils or artifacts, but these can be expensive and training can be lifelong. Some Humans (and non-Humans) are capable of wielding magic like mere thought, however, and one magic scholar has devised a theory that could enable this sort of magical casting to be accessible to Humans and completely revolutionize magic for all. His proposal accepted, he is given a hefty amount of resources for his journey, a carriage, and an armed escort to protect him from the dangers that will inevitably await.
But things on his journey are going to go wrong very quickly, and it's going to take some effort to get him where he needs to be to help reshape the world.

Essentially, we'd be playing as the armed escort, maybe 1-2 characters each, though the total escort would be much larger (and so they'll inevitably wind up dying as in "things go wrong very quickily" above). It could be mercenaries or a guild or knightly order or a combination thereof, including multiple races (since the scholar is somewhat famous and his goal would have caught a lot of interested people's attention) sporting different abilities from warriors to mages, and they'd be a combination of experienced to fledglings in their abilities, and throughout the journey more characters could join up (maybe even some hoping to eventually stop him?) if we want.
SORRY THIS IS CLOSED THANK YOU
The Dark Lord is an entity of fear and terror that manifests itself every few hundred years into an evil being like a curse upon the world. And each rise, a "Hero" is also born, destined to defeat him. For the fourth time, he has risen, but no Hero ever rose to stop him. Furthermore, unlike all the previous times, the Dark Lord seems content to just stay in his isolated kingdom of darkness where the sun's light has never touched, and there he's been dormant for approximately 200 years.
Now, a group of nine sinister, powerful foes have appeared calling themselves the Sentinels, and it seems only destruction is their goal. To counter this threat, various kingdoms have unleashed their armies of warriors and mages, and some hero-types have also tried to stand against them, but all to no avail.
One day, though, during an attack on a larger city, the Dark Lord suddenly appeared. ...Only he's trying to stop the Sentinels? Powerful as he is, even they're too much for him alone, so he will begin a journey to recruit others and stop these fiends, and perhaps there may be more to the Dark Lord than originally thought.
---
This would begin in medias res during the attack on the city maybe a few weeks after the Sentinels first revealed themselves. We'd start small and gradually expand the party roster until we have a good enough team able to deal with the sliding scale of "bigger and stronger each time." There should be a colorful cast of people who may need to be convinced to aid the Dark Lord or are just wanting to stop the Sentinels for their own reasons, and different skill levels would be at play, with some people being inexperienced in combat but they have some courage and a good heart and maybe some rugged people who are really good at what they do and want the nightmare to end.
