Sarah dug deep into her pockets and dug out a five dollar bill, sliding it onto the counter before she grabbed her coffee and took a sip. It was scolding hot, having been just brewed, but she didn't mind. So long as it was bitter. She had lost her her taste for anything sweet years ago. She took another sip of her coffee as she walked out the door and down the street.
Nick looked up to Nilith and nodded happily. Maya, however, was singing an entirely different tune. She jumped off the table she had been sitting on and walked to Nicholas's side. "I got a better idea. No. I got the feeling your just trying to use my brother."
"I'm perfectly fine with it."
"Shut up while grown-ups are talking. What are you playing at here, Nilith? You some kind military leader looking for someone to 'revolutionize' weaponry? Maybe a scientist looking to smooch of someone else's idea?"
Miles was currently strolling down the side. If you call strolling carrying five coffees and a box of donuts back to the jerks who sent you to do their errands. Despite everything he was sent out to get, he was actually doing pretty well, weaving in and out of commoners who were living out their daily lives. At that moment, he was walking past The Coffee Shop.
