Hello, my name is Anne. I am 22, turning 23 in April. I have been writing for about 10 years. I am new here I can’t wait to write and build a community. If someone can help me and walk me through that would be great! I love Harry Potter, anime, Netflix and binge watching tik toks!

Thanks for the friendly welcome! I’m a bit lost with everything to be honest haha. There’s a lot to take in a bit overwhelming in a way!
 
I can definitely understand that- I feel like the site could use a more comprehensive welcoming process to help people get an overview, instead of having to hunt for the info they want/need. Here are a couple threads to get you started, but don't hesitate to ask if you have questions!

Yeah a lot of people seem to have trouble with it. You go to this thread, scroll down to the bottom of the page, type your intro into the textbox, and hit 'Post reply'. The 'scrolling to the bottom' thing often throws people off ^^"

No problem! I believe you're not able to until you've made 10 posts (if I remember correctly). Once you've cleared the threshold and the system is convinced that you're a real person and not a bot, you can hover over someone's username and click 'Start conversation', or you can go to the envelope icon in the top right corner, click 'Start conversation', and then type in username(s) for your recipient(s). Hope that helps!

Yep! Anytime you post in a forum (other than your Private Workshop), it counts. If you want to know your post count, just hover over your username (you're currently at 7, if that helps) ^^

Top of the homepage, just below 'Community Hub' is a forum called 'My Private Workshop' that can only be seen and accessed by you, the mods, and anyone you invite to view &/or edit threads. People use it for all sorts of things- codes, drafts, storage... Whatever you want/need ^^

Haha thanks- it's extra work until Macros come back, but I love it ;P

Right now I would assume as a new user with the default settings all the icons along the top of your textbox are white. That means the RTE (Rich Text Editor) is active, and you can click the icons to change your text font, size, style, color... Plus quite a few other things. Once you've been around for a while (and if it's your thing), you can toggle off the RTE by clicking the two brackets at the top right of the textbox, and instead use BBCode to edit your posts.

You go to the 'Recruitment' section of the forum. Each of the forums in there will have recruitment threads for specific types of RPs (groups, 1x1, dice, off-site, ...). You can click any thread that seems interesting to you, and it should have information on what the RP's about, what are the rules, possible roles, etc. You can state your interest and ask questions and apply to anything that feels like it'll be a good fit. There's quite a lot of variety on here, so odds are you'll find one or more that you like (and of course you can also make Recruitment threads for your own RPs).

Intresting, I will wait possibly about roleplaying on my end/ making forms or groups until I get used to it. Would you ever be interested in writing?

Sound policy. I got used to the site and how it worked first, and many (though not all) people find it easier to start off with joining others' RPs to get a sense of how things work on here before starting their own.

I only ever do group RPs, so we might get to RP together if we join the same one (and ofc feel free to @ me if you join or start one you'd want me to take a look at). Many people have their preferred type(s) of RP selected in their settings, so you can see them by clicking the little white arrow below their username (my arrival on the site predates that feature and I never quite got on board with activating it, but many people do).

I only just got back from an unplanned hiatus, so I'm not actively in any RPs atm. I'd recommend checking out the Recruitment forums- there's a lot there and I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding some threads that interest you ^^
