In the beautiful and diverse country of Tethoris, there are five noble houses. These houses have been alive and well as long as the country has had breath in its lungs. When the country was built and organized, these houses were brought up and put into a role of "safe guard" to provide heirs to the throne. The royal bloodline has always been from one of the five houses for the past 1500 years. For the past 10 generations, the royal bloodline has been from the House of Pierce.
Unfortunately, the current Queen rules alone, having lost her husband to illness just three years prior. Queen Regina Pierce has recently become ill with the very same that took her dear King. The two were never able to produce heirs of their own to take their place; which means for the first time in almost 200 years, the royal bloodline will be shifted.
Thankfully, when the founding members of each house began building the magnificent kingdom of Tethoris, they laid out rules; Regulations stating what to do if this exact set of circumstances were to take place. In most kingdoms, it is a burden and hardship throughout the kingdom for a new bloodline to be selected. The founders of Tethoris and the noble houses wanted to avoid this struggle for their own country. Enter, the "Sanguine Selection". It was never intended to be a festival of sorts, but through the years, it's slowly become something of a festival!
The Sanguine Selection is an entire season where all the eligible bachelors, bachelorettes, and everyone else of marrying age between all the five noble houses come together to be selected as the new bloodline. There's a plethora of different events, such as balls, concerts, sporting events, and of course fantastic meals, for the young people of Tethoris to be put under a microscope, analyzed by the reigning monarch and their board of advisors; to choose the future two monarchs and thus, the new royal bloodline.
However, with any "changing of the crown", there are the snakes, the rats, the ones who want to cheat the system and find themselves in power. Whether it's on the throne itself, or even place themselves at the ear of the throne, the houses that make up the kingdom is not completely free of the power-hungry. It will be very interesting to watch this Sanguine season unfold.

Arden House
HOUSE COLORS: Orange and Gold
HOUSE ANIMAL: Horse
Set towards the southern border, or βValley Countryβ, of Tethoris, stands the House of Arden. Known for their resilience, Arden House has proudly shown their ups and downs through their existence; never hiding when they struggle through a hard time and humbly display when they come out on the other side of each and every adversity, all the stronger.
Those in Arden House share this trait, never letting a trial keep them down, and certainly not out for the count.
Arden house is also responsible for the majority of the agricultural life and supplies throughout the kingdom. Their rich soil and endless rolling hills provide copious amounts of space to plant a wide variety of crops. Arden house may be looked down on from time to time, in an attempt to resort the house to βjust a bunch of farmersβ, but thereβs a reason the House was chosen for nobility. Arden House is full of humble nobles, who know they carry the brunt of the kingdom on their crops.
Garin House
HOUSE COLORS: Blue & gold
HOUSE ANIMAL: Owl
House of Garin it set along the western forest of Tethoris. Hidden among the dense trees, rippling brooks and unknown creatures stands the house known for their intellect. With a long history of emphasizing education and knowledge, Garin House has a reputation of producing the most highly-esteemed advisors and teachers in the empire. Many of the advisors from Garin are shipped out to the Royal House once they finish all their schooling, in hopes that the ruling monarchs will choose them to stand by their side; anyone not chosen by said monarchs will come home to Garin and hope to be a Noble advisor to represent their house on the Board of Advisors.
Most tend to misjudge those from Garin House, assuming they're stuck-up, judgmental know-it-alls.... sometimes they're right...
Keating House
HOUSE COLORS: Green & gold
HOUSE ANIMAL: Rabbit
Fortified in the northern mountains of Tethoris is House of Keating. Seizing the mountains for themselves at the birth of their Kingdom, Keating House is known for their wealth. They are responsible for the mines that are now deep down into the depths of the Kingdom's mountain, and have profited substantially for it. They of course share their wealth, but only a small portion of it. With an abundance of stone, coal, and a multitude of precious stones and gems, the buildings throughout Keating tend to sparkle and shine, being much more ornate than any of the other Noble houses. The people within the Keating House are normally seen with ornate and gaudy jewelry as well as over-the-top garments.
Ramsey House
HOUSE COLORS: Red & gold
HOUSE ANIMAL: Bear
Finding comfort in the warm sands of Tethoris' eastern coast is House of Ramsey. Supplying the kingdom with the strongest and best military force, it only makes sense that Ramsey House is known for their courage. The sandy and rocky shores have provided the perfect, unpredictable and ever-changing scene for multiple training courses to create sturdy and versatile soldiers always ready for the unexpected. The people in Ramsey House are known to go head-first into any scenario, no matter how much fear they feel.
Pierce House
HOUSE COLORS: Purple & gold
HOUSE ANIMAL: Lion
In the heart of Thethoris lives House of Pierce. This house, fittingly known for their diplomacy, has birthed the royal bloodline longer than any of the other noble houses. The people in House of Pierce have a tendency to be non-violent, not wanting to escalate but rather to diffuse arguments and fights. Those in their "right minds" tend to notify any well-known mediator from House of Pierce of any quarrels throughout the kingdom, as they always show to help attempt to mediate between the two parties. In the generations where the royal bloodline was housed elsewhere, House of Pierce provided the throne with judges, peacekeepers, and even a few advisors.

All RPN rules apply, especially no hate. No homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, racism, etc etc. We like to have our rps be safe environments for people to have fun and be themselves! We're all here to write and enjoy our hobbies!! No hate, be good humans pretty please.

This will be an application based thread. Nobody is solidified as a character until they are officially accepted by me. Along those lines, this is not a first come first serve deal, we will select characters we believe are best suited for the rp, regardless of how early or late their sheet was made.

I would prefer if everyone applying to this thread to be 18+; The age range for characters to be from 20-28, which will be leading to some adult themes, so I'd be more comfortable if we're all legal adults! This is also going to be a semi advanced to fully advanced level thread, so we're expecting at LEAST 5-6 paragraphs per post. I'm not one for rp samples in cses, we just know that literary level often shows through character sheets, so just keep that in mind!
