Heart's of Demon's - Story of Demon's trying to experience human emotion, or take the power of those stupid enough to try

The darkness span of this world glistens, and in the darkness of our hearts, there is a numbness. A numbness to feeling, to pain, to love. Born as the spans of evil, we are ... in all accounts dark. We ravage, kill and destroy. This is our purpose, this is our choice. Yet despite the deep darkness that consumes us, we yearn for more. The understanding of human nature, to understand the feeling and actions of this young and fearful species. And in our search we find bliss.
Not all of us were...

Ramzi laid against the cold stone, his pale hands folded delicately behind his head as he peered up at the sky. His eyes matched his hair, dark like the night, flickering only with the gleam of the sunlight as he watched the fluffy clouds. It had been a long time since he had made that contract, and now it was only 3 more years till he was to take his heart back. He couldn't survive without it, his body would not allow him too. Giving out a long winded sigh, he pulled himself from the rock. He wore a thick coat, that clang to him, his long pants, plain and ripped from the constant abuse. His pearl eyes shifted down to the river as he pulled himself from the rock, his eyes shifting the icy waters.

(( Turning this into a bit of a cliff like region if I can? A bowl valley area? With a river going

through. I wasn't sure what would best start this off, so naturally I thought a fun bunch of violence

would be the best way! Forgive my odd and horrible writing style. I'll learn as I go. Same rules as

last time if I do something stupid ignore my post. I hope I have the weaponry for the era correct too

<.<))

River; beautiful, especially the way it flows through these valleys. With slow current and sunlit waves

casting wonderous glint, shadows, and sense of serenity throughout the rock walls and beaches.. It certainly seems

inviting. But wiser travelers know better..

The quiet is nice, with only the ocassi- " OVER HERE! " The hiss of a few soaring arrows and the loud

but brief clanging sound as steel collided with steel echoing momentarily through the cliffs. Then

silence..

" Did you get her!? " ... " SHIT! Damn that bitch, THIS WAY! "

Credulity: " Almost there, we're almost safe.. " Cred hurried through the semi-narrow trecherous rocky

pathway.. As much as she could anyway with an arrow in her right shoulder and a cut damaged left leg. They had set a trap for her this time, she had fallen right into it.. Her mental conversation continued:

"You disgust me I had told you it was too easy but you wouldn't listen..

Shutup! How was I suppose to know they would be that clever? That they would waste so many rescources to kill me?

(Sarcasm) Oh gosh I don't know, maybe drowning the leaders son was a great first clue..? "

The end of the path, below her a large still pool of water fed by a steady trickle from the river. The

old legends say a rock from the heavens was responsible for this crater. Demons would spawn from it's

depths and travel down river to torment all who inhabit the shores. Without a moments hesitation- and

just in time as the men chasing her turned the corner and pulled back their bow strings. She lept from the cliff diving with exceptional grac- The arrow in her shoulder suddenly shifted from her more complex

movements and Cred lurched unexpectedly from the sharp pain, and as a consequence transformed her perfect dive into a hilariously

clumsy spiral. She collided on the surface of the pool with a rather loud smacking sound and a painful grunt cut short as her head sank below the surface.

Credulity: " His son was an idiot, I assumed he would have thought of it as a favor.. " Credulity relaxed and remained motionless as she sunk deep into the water..

Men: " Damn! You! Post there, you there, you two cover our descent, everyone else with me. She can't make it to the river or we'll lose her! " The men were donning black light leather gear intended it would seem for mobility over defense most of them carrying well made shortbows, shortswords, and small wooden shields, the loud one giving orders wore light chain mail exquisitely decorated giving away this was a man of luxury. Two of the men wore a completely different uniforms they had very well made weapons and armor, the shields were metals and the swords longer and much sharper, crossbows instead of shortbows. Obviously mercenaries from another land. A couple men had climbed higher for a better vantage point while the others begin to slowly climb down the cliffs. " Mind the water now, and archers remain vigilant keep an eye on the waters surface. " he ordered. They did not climb straight down but exerted extra effort scaling to the side more in order to land on the shores near the pool in an attempt to avoid any surprise attacks from the depths. Eight men climbed down in safety landing on the hard ground below. Four remained above bows aimed carefully at waters surface two remaining at the mouth of the paths opening..

( I imagine you would be close by unnoticed. So I'll stop here for now incase you react, if not I have an idea to go further. But I better give you a chance. <3 I'm sure you know where I'm going with this lol. )

((Sorry, I totally didn't get the notification that this had started!))

Aika stood with her back to the wind as she looked up from the riverbed. She had been gathering water when she had heard the commotion off in the distance. After a murder in the town, the guards had been on high alert for the demon who had killed the boy. She knew nothing more—as the news of the town didn’t often trickle out to her home. Instead they simply waited for the day it was Ramzi who killed a villager—then they would have grounds to invade her home and take action against her. For now, she could deal with their disgusted glances and harsh whisperings.

This was the curse of a contractor.

Her hand instinctively grabbed her wrist and covered the searing mark on her skin. Ramzi had given her his heart a long time ago to save her life and no matter what the cost, she had to protect it. She only hoped that he was not caught in the crossfire of whatever attack the guards had strategized.

Picking up her bucket of water, she slowly made her way back down the river towards the town. As much as she wanted to run towards the battle, she knew it was not worth the risk of what Ramzi had given her, so she walked slowly and hoped that he’d pay her a visit later. Even if only to ease her mind.
