“Haunted Estate for Sale”
That’s what the ad said. Only upon inquiry that wasn’t quite true. It wasn’t exactly for sale. It was to be a deed transfer. The conditions were pretty simple. Live in the house for a full lunar month - to be measured from New Moon to New Moon. At the end of the lunar month the deed ownership would be transferred. Ownership could only be transferred by the same means.
You know what they say. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. A little further research suggested that the estate was haunted. Some said it was by ghosts; others by demons.
The estate is furnished. Utilities will be functional. The estate includes a very large tract of land for hiking, horseback riding, hunting and fishing.
Your Character
You have decided to check the place out. You could be there to try to own the place. Or you could have some other purpose. This is something I prefer to leave very open. For the sake of the story your character should be single. You could be rich or poor.
Plot
Well, I do say that the estate is supposed to be haunted. It would be sort of disappointing if it weren’t. But overall, a lot will depend on the sort of character you bring to the story. And ... I plan to bring the entertainment. That is, I will be haunting the estate.
