I have a heap of information for this planned out, but I think that posting it all here would make this post a little too long? Maybe. I'll probably comment it as it becomes necessary.
It's a fantasy-survival setting and uh, well here is the plot bit I wrote out to help explain.
In a time of fear, humans of the land were offering brides to monster clans as peace offerings. Most sacrificed brides were used for various purposes until their bodies would give out on them. Typically the brides would be used for hunting 'games', all of which would end in exhaustion for the choose human, though on rare occasions monsters found themselves drawn to certain brides and would take them for breeding. For a time this sacrifice was a method that kept peace between the two races, but that changed when the first half was born.
A mix of human and monster, ones that neither side would take in. Monsters abandoned them for their inherent human weaknesses, and humans ran from them out of fear for the monstrous blood. When the first halves were born, news spread through the monster world like wildfire, everyone knew of these strange beings, typically characterised by a strange tattoo-like marking somewhere on their body. It quickly was labelled a beast mark.
Humans would only find out about them much later, when one returned hoping to be taken in after wandering for a long time, but this half in particular appeared to them in a mixed form and was quickly chased out of the human villages too. The monsters learned of this interaction, but they didn't hear the full extent with it, only that a half has approached and made contact with the human race.
A child born with a beast mark was a child born to misfortune. With no where to turn but the wilds it wasn't long before a band of them would form, both monsters and humans naturally seek companionship and that was of course no different for halves. However this band would be the downfall of the fragile peace found within the land, neither side knew of the other's distaste of the halves, and each though a group of them was a plot against their race. The humans thought it to be an attack on them by the monsters, they assumed that the monsters were trying to get these not-quite humans into their societies to destroy them from the inside. The monsters thought the same, assuming that the humans were trying to infiltrate their race with these monster-rejects to have their way of living collapse in on itself.
Basically this roleplay would follow the halves as they travel across the lands trying to survive attacks from both sides of the war, along with natural hazards like weather and whatnot. If you have any questions just go ahead and ask, I've probably answered most with the much longer technical explanation that I have, which I can easily post if anyone wants more specifics/limitations/details.
