Home is not a reference as to place of birth, just where the Spartan refers to as "home." It can frankly be anywhere.AlphaDraco said:Just some quick things of note, if home is reference to the world the person was born on, no one was ever born on Onyx. All that was there was an ONI research base and the Spartan 3 program. Another quick thing is that only one Spartan 2, who is now dead, ever lived on Onyx for any extended period of time. Sorry if this sounds rude, but I'm a huge Halo lore fan.
Yeah, well, I don't take attitude like that kindly. Never have, never will.OnyxReaper said:Well, that sounds a tad douchey doesn't it -.-
I suppose.OnyxReaper said:Eh, cycle of douchebaggery I suppose?
I'm not too comfortable with that idea, even for Angel 5. Sorry mate.OnyxReaper said:BTW, mind if I give my guy an Energy Dagger? Scavenged of course
I'm not particularly sure what issue it would have? As a weapon it's rather ineffective; and considering his armament is only going to be an SMG and that, it's not particularly game-changing.Syrix said:I'm not too comfortable with that idea, even for Angel 5. Sorry mate.
I am aware of that it's not game changing. However it sticks out awkwardly in the story picture I have in mind. It may seem like "oh that could easily switched" or "it could easily be fit in," perhaps. But it's not quite that simple.OnyxReaper said:I'm not particularly sure what issue it would have? The care to offer an explanation?Syrix said:I am aware of that it's not game changing. However it sticks out awkwardly in the story picture I have in mind. It may seem like "oh that could easily switched" or "it could easily be fit in," perhaps. But it's not quite that simple.
I'm sorry to have offended you, I really was not trying to be douchy or rude. I was actually just more curious on why Onyx was his home. After all it was completely destroyed. Unless your talking about the shield world the was inside that was renamed Trevelyan and does have contingents of Spartans there to assist in research and protection of science personnel. Once again, I'm sorry for the rude remarks, I'm more just curious than any thing else.Syrix said:Home is not a reference as to place of birth, just where the Spartan refers to as "home." You are right, it does sound rude. I too am a huge Halo lore fan, that's why I created this game. But that is no excuse to come off in such a brash manner. You can state such details in a much more appropriate fashion to establish a stronger community (especially with the game master) rather than appearing as sounding as like you're shooting your mouth off at another player (let-alone the GM).
Apologies accepted. And pardon my rather defensive response. Nigh every time I encounter such curiosity, the individual was not exactly humble in any way.AlphaDraco said:I'm sorry to have offended you, I really was not trying to be douchy or rude. Much appreciated. The simple answer is uniformity.OnyxReaper said:Eh whatever, I'll switch it out to a basic knife
I'm glad we could resolve that and thanks for the info. Just needed to make sure I had the information was right. Thanks!Syrix said:Apologies accepted. And pardon my rather defensive response. Nigh every time I encounter such curiosity, the individual was not exactly humble in any way.
Trevelyan would be the new term, yes, but I'm just leaving it as Onyx for simplicity sake.
Much appreciated. The simple answer is uniformity.
