Fandom Halo: Limits of Power - Lore

Kyero

Three Thousand Club
Story and Plot

The story of this RP follows the traditional Halo Lore right up until after the events of Halo 4 which took place in 2557. Master Chief has returned home, and is on military leave officially. Unofficially he and Blue Team are scouring the galaxy looking for problems, big or small, with the intention of snuffing them out.

Master Chief and Blue Team will make a brief appearance in the RP later on, but for now they are just background noise at best.

Plot

The plot of the RP is a fairly convoluted one, and too much information to bother placing on this page so I'll give you guys a brief overview of the plot:

The Ghost Agenda Theory has become widespread, causing humanity to question and even begin rejecting/resenting the UNSC's authority as well as alienate the UNSC's forces. The SPARTANs especially have come under fire, given that they are the most powerful of the UNSC's "puppets". Because of this, humanity does not trust the SPARTANs anymore, or any of the UNSC's military forces. The soldiers who know about the theory are also having doubts given the facts surrounding the UNSC's acquiescing to the requests and suggestions of the Covenant Leadership over the last several years. Because of this, many of the soldiers all the way up to the ODST's are distrusting of each other, and worse still, of the SPARTAN warriors.

The SPARTAN VI Program was developed in such secrecy that not a single UNSC soldier (or even the top brass outside of two individuals) know of its existence. Not even the SPARTAN II, III, or IV soldiers know about the Program or the fact of the SPARTAN VI's existence.

So what is the Ghost Agenda Theory correct about, and what is it incorrect about?

The long and short of it is as follows:

What it has right

The UNSC has been shown secrets and insight beyond their wildest dreams. New forms of energy and matter never known to exist. New methods of surveillance, reconnaissance, organization, and other such important tasks delegated to military control and operation that they were hard pressed to resist. But underneath this new knowledge lurks a dark plot, as the Covenant knows something about these secrets that humanity and the UNSC does not.

What it has wrong

Contrary to popular belief of those who follow this theory, the soldiers in the employ of the UNSC know nothing about what is going on at the top level above their pay grades. Another thing wrong with this theory is that the UNSC does this willingly. While there is a grain of truth to it, as usual the powers that be believe they are doing what's best for their people and so they know not that they are in fact doing anything wrong. There is no deliberate ill will imposed upon humanity by the UNSC.

So what does all of this spell out for us?

Humanity is the center of this story, plain and simple. Those who are civilian characters are going to be the first thrown into the firing line, and the first to be given a glimpse of the truth behind what the UNSC believes is a "massive leap forward" for humanity.

The SPARTAN VI's are soldiers following orders, and for a while they will conflict with the civilian characters with respect to their beliefs, what their orders demand of them, and how humanity doesn't need soldiers, but heroes.

Given that the SPARTANs entire existence revolves around them being in the firing line doing what the civilians cannot, you can imagine how this will not go over well with the SPARTANs themselves.

There will be a lot of drama in this RP, so buckle up and get ready for a bumpy ride.
