Hail Audela comes from a long line of Magi. His family, the Audela clan, is one of the ancient Magi orders, and they take great pride in this.
Background:The Audela family has great wealth and their rich history dates back to prehistoric times. They reside in a grand estate on a large swath of land on the edge of New Portsmouth. Unlike most Magi, they are not afraid of the public eye. Their prestige earns them many friends and enemies, but relationships with outsiders don't usually go farther than business deals with large corporations. The Audela clan's power comes from a source they call "Evalas," which means "the beyond". In order to better understand the nature of their power and its source, they are trying to collect relics and knowledge from the ancient past, specifically those pertaining to the apocalyptic event which was responsible for the creation of the Magi. This involves coercing other Magi orders into giving them what they want, operating outside the law. But as long as they do it in the shadows, the DSRT can't prove anything. It's easy enough to wear a facade of innocence.
Hail holds true to the ideals of his family. Being the third and youngest son, he is not the successor to his father. In the shadow of his brothers, he is free to practice his skills and operate on his own agenda, for the most part. His powers appeared shortly after his seventh birthday, and they have continued to develop.
Powers: Like many members of his family, Hail can tap into the dimension of Evalas. He can channel the mystical forces of this dimension through him, and use it to cast a great variety of spells. In all of his spells, he is opening a door to, or creating a pocket of Evalas, and allowing the energy to flow out with him as the guide. His abilities include summoning spectral creatures to do his bidding, creating a shroud around himself, and channeling elemental attacks at his foes. But of all of the powers Evalas offers, Hail demonstrated a particular aptitude for controlling the invisible forces that flow from the unseen realm. While he is capable of all of the other basic magic, he is able to reliably and effectively use powers of force to form barriers, create push and pull currents, exert pressure on surfaces, and even use a small degree of telekinesis.
Personality: Hail is very confident in his own skills, almost to a fault, and has a bit of a superiority complex. He is a Magi and proud of it. He holds it over other people to remind them of their inferiority. In combat, he is cool and collected, tactically controlling the battlefield. He rarely loses his composure, and he enjoys sapping the confidence of his enemies through taunts. Hail has little patience for incompetence.
Hail never looks up at anyone. If they are taller than him, he with simply look to the side and avoid eye contact.
Appearance: The third son of Lance Audela has pale skin, and intense violet eyes, a family trademark. His hair is black with a blue sheen, and drapes down over one eye. He is a lean figure of average height. Most of the time he wears an indifferent expression, but occasionally he smirks with glee.
He wears a snowy white cloak over an expensive gray suit, completed with a black bow tie. His hands are hidden by black gloves, the right one bearing the symbol of a burning amethyst- the family crest.
