H.Y.B.R.I.D HAVEN
A Modern Science Fiction Roleplay

It was the year 1970; scientists have discovered the use of alternation in DNA allowing different animals to inherit traits and abilities from other animals thought weren’t possible. This new revolutionary discovery changed genetics forever. However one man had bigger plans in mind. With this new found knowledge, he decided to find a way to change the world for the worse. A worse that would only cause scarring pain to the world.

There are some things, man was never meant to understand...

The man called Kagiso Rijs started a new secret organization known as G.E.N.E (Genetic Elaborate Notorious Engineers) where they dedicate themselves to researching new ways to abuse Mother Nature and its laws. Dr. Rijs hired many people over the years to work on creating a new genetic formula that would change the world while also getting funding from millionaires who invested in his work and believed in his ideals of genetic progression.

secretlab_dedyone.jpg

It took twenty nine years of research and experimentation but in the end, it was all worth it...or was it?

Now the year was 1999, the G.E.N.E organization has finally created a new experimental chemical formula which would later be dubbed the H.Y.B.R.I.D Formula (Human Youth Biologically Revamped Inside DNA). This chemical formula is able to alter the DNA of any existing organism in anyway possible however it must be injected before the subject reaches an adolescence state.

Knowing that there are no available subjects to test on, the G.E.N.E organization decided to take drastic measures into their own hands. By kidnapping children from across the world and bringing them back to G.E.N.E HQ located in Izium, Ukraine.

In the year of 2005, Children across the world are being kidnapping from Japan, Africa, China, Europe, Australia and even the U.S itself. G.E.N.E even took it a step further by adopting children from orphanages where they would be used for experimentation. When they were done, they had about 1000 child subjects to experiment with.

The age range they were looking for was from around one to nine. They began experimentation on the children however those who exceeded the age range of one to nine were executed immediately without question. The children who did fit the criteria were immediately injected with H.Y.B.R.I.D formula and conducted experiments on. The conclusion of test subjects are 60% Successful and 40% Failure. The children who managed to coop with their new animal genetic abilities were deemed successful while the others were considered failures due to them unable to pass the tests given to them. While Successful subjects immediately went into initiation for training to become the 1st generation of super soldiers. The G.E.N.E organization had other "appropriate" uses for the failures which were a series of humiliating, punishing and laboring tasks. The scientists made sure that their creations wouldn't disobey them by threatening them in anyway possible and killing those who would dare disobey them in public as an example to those who try and break the rules.

"Where is your God now?"

The G.E.N.E organization launched the First Successful H.Y.B.R.I.D program where the new soldiers would be tasked to do mercenary work of all sorts across the globe. The program lasted about 5 years full of bloodshed, slavery and never ending pain for the poor Hybrids. However the G.E.N.E organization had gained profits beyond their wildest imaginations for the work which their experiments did. In 2010, the decided to shut down the program due to the lack of profit coming in from the work they are doing. Since by the time they finished with the program, most of the workers including the creator himself: Dr. Rijs now at the age of seventy, had enough money to retire for the rest of his life. All of the H.Y.B.R.I.D Subjects were to be disposed of on December 25th 2010. The day of Christmas, ironic yet a suitable date.

The Sweet Release of Death shall set you free~

On December 24th 2010, it was almost time for the disposing of their lifetime program. While the scientists and workers cheered, the ones who had to suffer lost all faith as they cried in their cells awaiting sweet release of death. They needed something...they needed....a Christmas miracle...and a Christmas miracle is what they got.

BTOOOM-Shiki-Second-Explosion.png

Suddenly a massive explosion within the building caused everyone into a state of panic. To make matters worse, all the cells were released causing all of the Hybrids to flee from the facility. It was total chaos everywhere as Hybrids ran and even killed some of the scientists for revenge. What caused this explosion? Who has done it? It was none other than 4 former scientists who saw the wrongs of their ways and decided to redeem their sins by giving the Hybrids something that was taken away from them...

"Hope"

They got some of the Hybrids through some vans and drove them away as far away from that hellish place. While they managed to save some of the Hybrids, it's unsure what happened to the rest. We can only pray that they are safe.

However, it's been 6 years since that happened and now it's the year of 2016 on February 13th. The Hybrids who have been saved, now live on a small island somewhere in the Bahamas where they act out their daily lives while also living together in harmony with one another.

February 13th, 2016, 8:00AM, Sunny

It was yet another beautiful day on the island, sunny and peaceful as always. Most of the residents were just now waking up, or going to sleep depending on work and sleep schedules. Several early risers were more than likely awake, though most slept in. After all, why wake up early when you don't have many cares in the world to worry about? All things considered most island dwellers considered life here a happy existence, compared to what they grew up living it was paradise. Of course, with every paradise things find their way of spiraling out of control, though..it seemed not to be the case for them so far. Some figured it was all in due time, others believed nothing could ever go wrong. After all, they lived here for six years, what could possibly happen?

Blake was beginning to be roused from her slumber by the chirping of the birds outside of her window. She slid her window up gently and grabbed a hand of birdseed from a nearby bag and placed it on the ledge before closing the window and staring at the ceiling. She was not feeling well. Was it her heart? No it couldn't be, she felt more nauseous than anything, but she assured herself that it would pass soon.

She closed her eyes and just listened to the sounds of everyone getting up and going about their day. She never really had much to do since everyone thought she was weak due to her frail heart. She believed them since she was on some strong medicine to keep her heart from completely giving out on her. She had not given up though since she had to look after Ciri to make sure she stayed out of trouble.

Sierra Springs

Sierra peeked one eye open as the sun hit her face, groaned, grabbed her pillow, and rolled over while placing it on top of her head. She had no idea what time it was, but the sun was up so therefore it was either early morning or late in the afternoon. Either way, she needed more sleep. Though, one part of her wanted to surprise Amber and actually wake up at a decent time for once. Decisions..decisions. Sleep in, or surprise her wife and actually wake up early for once. Every fibre of her being screamed at her to sleep, possibly all day, but she decided against it in the end. Regrettably she moved the pillow off of her, leaned up, and then yawned and stretched. She was sure Amber would be getting up soon, though she was making sure she was getting up now. She wasn't going to let her effort go to waste! Thus, she took her pillow and smacked Amber in the face with it; hard. "
Wakey wakey." She told her, hitting her once more, a playful grin on her still half asleep features.

Fortunately for Amber she had the best side of the bed where the sunlight didn't hit her face. The main reason she did this was so that her wife had a natural alarm clock. The female hybrid was a lazy one and liked the sleep in despite having many different duties to do and the sunlight would hopefully help out her cause. Though despite the fact that the sun wasn't in her eyes the gold haired girl was awake earlier than normal. Her body lay comfortable and warm, trying to catch some few more minutes of sleep, though something caught her attention. Beside her Sierra had woken earlier than normal, the girl's groans and rolling stirring her from sleep. Before she could say anything the cat eared girl was suddenly smacked in the face with a pillow causing her to leap a foot off the bed, crashing down right beside her. "S-Sierra! What are you doing?" She asked in a surprised voice, sitting up and staring down at her wife. "I've never woken you up like that, so why would you do that to me?"

Ciri had been awake since around four. She had little to do other than play video games, so she did just that while she waited for Blake to wake up. She would of probably woken her up sooner, but the poor woman needed her rest. She already wasn't in the best of conditions, though Ciri thought it wasn't as bad as she made it out to be. Though Blake was doing considerably well all things considered, Ciri was very impressed if she was being honest. She was glad she'd managed to pull through the escape though, Ciri definetely didn't know what she'd do without her. She was pretty much an older sister to her, she cared more about her than anyone else on the island.

Nevertheless time passed and soon it was eight, she knew Blake usually woke up around then. Though she gave her a few minutes to get woken up and such. Said few minutes pass and she shuts off her console, opens the door, and runs to the room directly across from hers. "
Good morning Blake!" She told her as she ran over hugging her.

Sierra blinked followed by giggling at Ambers reaction of jumping up in the air. She really hadn't expected that to happen. She expected more of an annoyed reaction, if she had to guess. She only smiled innocently at her as she was questioned, "
I just wanted to surprise you and stuff." She replied honestly. "Plus I didn't know you were awake..so.." She explained with a shrug. That said she hugged her and kissed her on the cheek, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. That was mean of me." She told her. She really hadn't expected her to react so negatively, she wouldn't of done it otherwise. "I was just kidding around, okay?" She added. She hoped she wasn't mad at her, though if she had of done it to her she knew she would be.

Archie Roux

He sighed as the clock on the wall finally reached 8:00, forcing him to down the rest of his coffee. Unfortunately, he couldn't bring it with him into the lab, though he really wanted to. Despite there being no real capital backlash for doing so, he wanted to be safe around the chemicals. After all, he could easily die if he ingested some of them. He was always secretly worried that some of the younger hybrids would try to get in and mess with all of them, especially the ones he kept strictly in his glass case or under his hood. Just in case, he still used the keycard system to keep everything in check. Once he washed out his mug in the break room, he sauntered down the hall a short ways with his hands in his lab coat pockets to his laboratory. He pulled them out only to elegantly flicking his wrist down to swipe the card into the reader on the wall. After it gave him the sound of approval, the door clicked slightly, signalling him to open it and walk in.

He flicked the lights on, looking at the rows of lab benches. By now, he had gotten used to working them alone, but he could still remember the days when he worked with so many other people. He shook his head to clear the thought, then took his hands out of his pockets once and for all to retrieve the goggles and gloves he had sitting on the counter nearby. Once they were on, he sat at his main bench, looking at a few oddly colored solutions he had capped at the end of the workday yesterday. He still had a long ways to go, but he thought he was getting close to something good here. So he removed the cap of one of the flasks, then just stared at it for a few moments. He had been working so hard on this. Was he wearing himself too thin? Perhaps coming in this morning wasn't good for him. He needed to take a break sometimes!

For now, he just set to work, busying himself with the manipulations of the compounds he hoped to be the answer to his problems. He took notes often, making sure every detail was recounted. After all, if this didn't work, he'd have to make a tiny alteration to his formula in hopes of getting it right. But he could feel this coming together nicely, and he knew it was going to be worth it.

Her own arms returned the hug and she gave her hybrid wife one of her own cheek kisses before giving into her love. There was no way she could stay mad at anyone, especially Sierra. Amber leaned into her body and wrapped her own tail around the girls waist, giving Sierra a warm smile. "I know that you were just kidding around, I was just giving you a hard time. And you weren't being mean, you were doing good. Thanks for waking me up cutie." She said softly, yawning loudly before standing up and taking her wife with her. "As much as I'd like to, we can't stay in bed. There are people counting on us. Let's get ready and get going."

Blake sat up as Ciri rushed into her room. She made sure to cover her chest since she always sleeps without a shirt on. "Ciri! Hey!" She blushes and looks at the girl. Blake continues to stare at Ciri as Blake reaches for a pill bottle next to her bed. She dispenses 2 pills and quickly takes them. While still under he covers, she quickly gets dressed and hops out of bed. "What did you want to do today Ciri?" She offers the bunny girl a smile.

While she waits for Ciri to answer, Blake walks over to her cupboards and grabs a few granola bars and a carrot from her fridge and munches on them.

Sierra smiled when she was hugged and kissed back, happy that she hadn't made her wife mad. She was hard to read at times despite her knowing her for so long. She guessed that was what made her interesting. Plus she secretly had to get back at her somehow, she knew full well she gave her the side of the bed facing the sun so it'd stand a better chance of waking her up. "You're welcome. If that's the case..I'll have to make it a point to wake you up like that everyday." She told her, grinning up at her cheekily as Amber stood up carrying her. Of course, she wasn't serious whatsoever. She doubted she'd ever wake up this early on her own ever again, but it was totally worth it to see the look on her face. She sighed and nodded at what she said last, unfortunately they'd both joined up with the council and so they had important jobs to do. Luckily most of the time things were pretty laid back, so they didn't actually have to do to much. Plus their jobs allowed them to be together more or less all day, so she was happy.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Do you wanna go out for breakfast? Or do you want me to cook something?" She asked. Despite being lazy, Sierra was actually a decent cook. At-least she'd like to think so, anyway. Though..she'd prefer going out. She'd prefer anything that involved less work.

Ciri grinned as Blake blushed at her. Woops..She guessed she should of knocked first. Well, at-least she'd been awake this time. She had, once or twice, came into her room while she was sprawled out asleep. Needless to say she found out she usually slept shirtless the hard way. Not that she'd ever tell her that, though she still found it funny. "Hai!" She replied simply yet with just as much excitement as when she burst into the room. She sat on the edge of the bed once Blake had dressed and gotten out of it. She shrugged at her question, "I dunno. Anything in particular you want to do yourself? We could always go swimming..to the hot-springs..the beach. Or just sit around for a bit." She told her. Pretty much anything Blake felt up to doing she'd do, after all she didn't want to push her into doing something she didn't feel like doing.

"Ciri did you ever have any siblings? I think that's the word for it?" She looks over at the younger girl. She felt something deep down, a sort of pain. She knew that everyone there had been through a lot of pain to get where they were and it was all thanks to the scientists...

"Let's go out and get some food, alright?" She asked, giving the girl a quick kiss before setting her down onto her feet. Amber smiled at the girl before taking off her clothes and changing into something nice and fresh, not wanting to go out looking like trash. When she was all ready she sat down on the door of the bed and waited for Sierra. "What do you feel like getting?"

Ciri grinned and nodded, "Sounds good to me! And I'll definitely probably remember this time." She replied before shrugging. Really, it was a 50/50 chance she'd actually remember most of the time. But she'd definitely try to, she didn't want to be unable to swim..again..because she forgot it. That was depressing for sure. Then Blake asked if she'd ever had any siblings. She shook her head in response, "Nuh-uh. They took me from an orphanage as far as I remember." She replied. "Most of the kids there weren't exactly that nice..but I'd of definitely preferred them to getting kidnapped." She explained. "But if I hadn't I never would of met you! So it was definitely worth it." She added before hugging her. "Where you wanna go eat? I could always cook us something." She asked as she released her from the hug.

Sierra nodded, kinda glad she picked the option to go out instead of her cooking. Of course, she would of cooked for them if Amber had wanted that, but going out was still preferable. "Alright, sounds good to me." She replied. Once she was sat down she too moved to change. The one thing she wasn't completely lazy about was how she looked to others. She definitely didn't want to look like she just got out of bed in front of the other hybrids..even though she technically did. She took a bit more time than Amber did in selecting her outfit, even though all she did was wear variants of the same thing. After a few minutes she came over and sat down beside her. "Well..I don't remember if anywhere has fish for breakfast so..I dunno. Waffles and sausage?" She asked before shrugging. She very rarely kept up with the various small shops and such on the island unless it involved helping out somehow, plus unless a place DID serve fish waffles sounded great.

Hidden han't been able to sleep. All the twisting and turning in his makeshift bed had been too tiresome, causing him to now pace about his room. It had been largely modified to encompass his tall and wide bulk as well kept him on ground level so he didn't risk waking or annoying the other residents with his hoofsteps. The clicking was still very audible though, despite the architect's efforts. The centaur had been eyeing his cell phone for about the last hour, considering what he had thought of doing for the last few weeks. You see, the young man had finally tracked down the number of his biological family, though had been reluctant to due to the wide variety of situation that could occur. They could hate him, be happy he's alive, hell...even want to
see him. He was half animal, a freak of nature as seen by any human.

Pausing for a moment, Hidden grit his teeth before making his way over and grasping the phone, he was going to have to face his fears eventually, why not get it over with now? Shaking he slowly began to dial the number and held it up to his ear, the dial tone making the pit in his stomach grew as anxiety began to tear and gnaw at it. It rang for quite a while, and when he felt a small bit of relief trickle down to calm his nerves, someone answered. “Hello..?” A masculine voice. He froze, his voice caught in his throat. The young man wasn't mentally prepared for this. “Uh...hello? Anyone there..?” Clearing his throat, he replied. “Uh...h-hello...um…” His voice cracked harshly before taking a breath and asking in a slight rush “Is your n-name possibly Jonathan Rahgot?” “Yes...and no I don't want from buy-” “Its Hidden..” There was a brief period of silence. “No...sir, I dorm appreciate such a cruel joke. He died at the age of nine.” “No...I-I didn't...I-” There was muffled speech for a second, his father telling his mother that there was someone on the line was pretending to be their deceased son. But that fell upon deaf ears as she ripped the phone out of his hands. “Birthday...w-what…” “March nineteenth, nineteen-eighty. I’m...26 now…” Silence yet again. “What do you remember….?” Closing his eye, Hidden tried to recall all those long forgotten memories. “Little...my eyes, I got them from you but my main features from dad...er...the house, barely. I remember it was difficult to remember where it was due to the neighbors that moved in after us picking the same siding colors…my room was green, God
everything I ever owned was green. I had an obsession with that color…” He trailed off, both ends quite until his mother whispered “He’s alive…” Then his father was heard once more. “Well...if it is really you…” His voice sounded gruff though there were clear notes of some sort of relief. “What the hell happened.” Taking another breath, Hidden’s mind was running at an extremely fast pace. What would he say? That he had just been casually experimented on by crazed scientists and they were finally liberated four years ago leading him to then become the head of his people?

Dear Lord...

Hidden explained and kept it brief, purposely leaving a few key parts out. Mainly what had happened while he was experimented on, what they did to him, and what he is currently doing now. He covered it all up as some private organization that went a bit too far. They talked until around when most of the hybrids would be waking, meaning he needed to get out and about as well. After all he
did kinda run the place. Saying quite a lengthy goodbye and saying he’d call later, the young man laid his cell phone on the nightstand next to the large and soft spread of mattresses before being swamped with relief. Though it was soon replaced with a bit of worry, for his parents wanted to see him and he couldn't go to them...but was it the best option? Taking a brush and running it through his pelt, the centaur then stood and slowly exited his room, deciding it was best to weigh his options over breakfast.

Cirillia VinesCiri grinned and nodded, "Sounds good to me!

Sierra Springs

Sierra nodded, kinda glad she picked the option to go out instead of her cooking. Of course, she would of cooked for them if Amber had wanted that, but going out was still preferable. "Alright, sounds good to me." She replied. Once she was sat down she too moved to change. The one thing she wasn't completely lazy about was how she looked to others. Blake shrugged. "I just ate so I can take you anywhere you want. You can even eat whatever you want, just try to not eat too much I don't want you floating away in the ocean." She laughs and hugs Ciri. "I wish I had a sister like you." Blake's ear twitch and wiggle around as they often do when she was thinking about something. "Go to your room and put your swimsuit on, I will change into mine momentarily."

Ciri grinned excitedly and giggled when she told her she could have whatever she wanted. She was definitely getting some form of cake, no doubt about that. Cake counted, right? Right. When she hugged her she of course hugged her back and smiled at her words. "You're already like a sister to me Blake. You looked after me all this time, I'm really glad I met you." She replied. She released her from the hug when she told her to go change, "Okay! I won't take long!" She told her, with that she ran back to her room and quickly changed into her swimsuit; which was of course pink. Thus, she sat on the edge of the bed waiting on Blake to get ready.

Blake took her time in changing trying to get over her sick feeling. She promised that they would go to the beach so she could not cancel on Ciri like that. She put on a modest black bikini and walked over to Ciri's room after grabbing a few beach towels from her bathroom. "Ready to go? Where do you want to eat?" She smiles and grabs the girl's hand.

Amber's hand moved from her own lap and rested on top of Sierra's knee, shaking it gently and smiling. It seemed that her wife wanted fish for breakfast once again, which she wasn't exactly against. Fish did sound rather nice right now although it'd be strange to eat during the morning. However if it's what Sierra wanted then that's what they'd get. "I'm sure somewhere on the beach has fish at this hour. Though if we do go there to eat we can't go swimming." She warned, nuzzling the girls shoulder softly. Swimming sounded just as nice as fish, plus it'd give her a chance to see Sierra a little more exposed, but being on the council meant that the needs of others came before their own. "But I still think that we should go down there to eat. Perhaps we could swim after everything is done!"

Remi flew around the island until he had reached the beach. It had been a while since he had eaten and it seemed like fish was on the menu today.

"Arghh... I hate getting wet..." he said circling above the water, "Guess I have no choice do I?" he asked himself. He swooped down close to the water and speared a fish with his knife and threw it onto the beach and repeated the process until there was 4 dead fish on the beach.

"Maybe this is enough" he said to himself. He gathered some wood and started a fire to cook his fish. While they were cooking he took off into the sky to kill some time. With his view, he could see people all over the island. Life here was content, but he had always felt that there was something missing. The freedom the skies had given him was no longer enough, he wanted to explore more of the world.

Archie exhaled and fell back into his chair when he had finally capped the dark violet vial. He simply stared at it, only blinking a few times as he sat still. After a few moments, he grunted and pushed himself off of the chair, grabbing the vial and his notebook. If it didn't work, he would need to be ready to go over his notes at any time. Unfortunately, he was exhausted of the project, and he wanted to just relax for a while. Once this was over with, he was officially taking a break.

He turned off the lights and exited the lab, walking out with notebook and vial in hand. This was by far his least favorite part of the job, but it had to be done. It was rather strange, as it should be the most rewarding part of his job, being as it is the fruit of his entire career. However, he just couldn't get past the fact that he had to walk among the hybrids once again, feeling their stares bore into his very flesh. He was always wildly uncomfortable among them, especially without a human companion. But as of the moment, he had no idea where the other two were. Perhaps it was simply too early for them to be up and about.

To his delight, there were few hybrids up and about, but he still stuck out like a sore thumb. After all, normal on the mainland was by no means normal on this island. Nevertheless, he wasted no time going straight to his destination so that he may be able to leave hastily. He quickly slipped into the hybrid's quarters, assuming quite comfortably that most would still not have left their rooms. Despite his efforts, he couldn't ignore the curious stares that followed him as he walked, causing him to go slightly faster. He couldn't handle this sort of stress.

On the way to his destination, he noticed that his target was a ways off, a fellow quite hard to miss even from a distance. Well there was no need to check the room just a few meters ahead, now was there? Quickly speeding up his gait, he managed to catch up with a great deal of power walking. "M-Mr. Rahgot, I have the serum for the you-know-what," he stammered, though trying desperately to contain himself. It was one thing to ignore stares, and another entirely to interact with them, especially Hidden. The man was a giant compared to Archie, and that intimidated him on top of the judgement he must bear. But it was Archie's job to deliver the goods to the council. Or at least he took it upon himself to do so. He held the vial out meekly to Hidden, clutching his notebook to his chest with his free hand. His gaze was askew off to the side just in case he might have accidentally met Hidden's gaze. The very thought ran a chill down his spine.

Ciri was a bit worried about Blake, she knew she normally didn't rush anything like her but she was taking an abnormally long amount of time. She debated on checking on her but decided not to, for fear of embarassing her in the middle of dressing. Had she taken a little longer she would of tossed that thought out of the window and went to check on her, seeing Blake naked would of been a small price to pay for making sure she was alright. Perhaps she worried too much about her, maybe not, either way she'd pretty much always do everything she could to keep her safe. After all, she cared about Blake more than anyone else. Don't get her wrong, everyone else was awesome, but Blake was different. Regardless when she entered the room Ciri sighed silently in relief, hopped up, and walked over to her; blaking grabbing her hand as she did. "
Hmm..Can we get cake?" She asked her, grinning slyly. "You did say anything." She added teasingly.

Sierra continued to stare at Amber as she thought over the suggestions she'd presented. She hoped she'd remember somewhere that served fish early, and that she actually wanted it herself. That'd be awesome. She was happy with either choice though, personally her thing was eating and quickly finishing any pressing council issues so she could spend time with her wife. Although, she'd spend time with her doing her job, that was different. She pouted slightly at the no swimming bit, but otherwise didn't mind much. Fish outweighed swimming, though Amber soon mentioned going swimming later on so that worked too. "
Awesome! Sounds good to me. Definetely look forward to swimming later." She replied.

Oddly enough, one would assume cat genes would make them dislike water, but luckily it didn't. That said she soon stood up, "
Alright, that's settled then. Let's go eat so we can see what needs doing and hopefully finish up early." She told her.

She began to walk down the hallway and passed by Hidden's room. "The beach will be sunny today so we need to get you some sun screen as well," Blake continued to rattle on.

The elk hybrid was about to reply to the scientsit when two others passed by as they walked down the hall. Looking to them, he gave them both a small nod. "Good morning Blake, Cirillia." Before Usering the nervous human into his room. Shutting the door and awaiting for the two girls to get out of earshot before he began speaking to Archie. "Your so skiddish all the time, why not loosen up a bit. Yeah some of the other hybrids are holding pretty fierce grudges but I don't because it wasn't your fault. Now...which one is this? I recall you saying that the one to reverse the experimentations wasn't entirely possible and that love potion Gregory was talking about was a joke, the kid is never going to find a girl if he keeps acting that way." Hidden sat similar to a dog, his back legs splayed out whilst his front two planted on the wood floor, the man's arms crossed in a manner that wasn't meant to be threatening.

Archie wasn't terribly comfortable with the whole ushering incident, but he said nothing about it. Once inside the room, he tried to stay close to the wall so as to not be close to Hidden, and close to the door so as to have an easy escape. If he wasn't comfortable being around the hybrids, try putting him in a small room with a large one. Should work out just fine. He really wanted to say something about Hidden's perception of Archie's anxiety, but decided to let it go. He knew, and that was all that mattered.

But he was rather required to address the serum situation. "W-well it's hopefully going to stop the trematodes from using hybrids as a secondary, intermediate, or primary host. These waters are filled with them, and the animal aspects of different hybrids make them ideal for carrying them as eggs, cercariae, and adults. T-this would hopefully eliminate their prevalence altogether," he explained rather quickly, mainly because he just wanted to be out of there by now.

He set the vial gently onto Hidden's nightstand, wedged between the lamp and a book. Once he was sure it was stable, he backed up to return to his position by the door, clutching his chaotic looking notebook with both hands, pulling them into his chest. He wanted nothing more than to retreat back to the scientists' building or recluse back into the forest to have some alone time. This proved far too stressful for him. But he knew that he shouldn't leave without Hidden's say-so. To be quite candid, Archie felt as though Hidden might have more questions to which Archie would have to answer. He ventured that he would be fine so long as he tucked himself away into the corner, which he slowly sidestepped into. Super nonchalant.
