There's a new competition at Hogwarts. Requiring one student from each house, the four winners are being called to represent Hogwarts at the first worldwide wizarding school conference.

The caveat? This is no conference with freebies and smiling panel discussions. (Although there may be some free foreign candies. Put chocolate on the table, and suddenly it's a lot harder to be combative.)

Perhaps Voldemort makes an appearance. Perhaps another school's delegates are evil, or impostors, or being controlled by the dark side.
But...
Caveat number one: It takes place in New York and requires these wizards to learn and live with Muggles.

Caveat number two: Political leaders from each country will also be sent. The students chosen are there to represent the student body of their country and advocate for their peers.

Caveat number three: Why? This conference is intended to attempt to save the wizarding world from Voldemort and his agenda. This is still in the early stages, so the government hasn't been overthrown, there is anti-Muggle sentiment but not yet to a severe degree, etc. This is a conference which could potentially halt the ensuing events in later books. (Whether or not the Golden Trio exist or this is a parallel universe situation is to be determined.)
Criteria
No age restriction.
All students are eligible for consideration. There will be a top three (not revealed publicly) and should one student refuse his or her promotion, it will go to one of the other students in the top three.
Must best exemplify the qualities of his or her house.
Must demonstrate the ability both to lead and express him or herself. This does not mean the student must be excessively outgoing, popular, or academically strong. These are qualities which are sometimes hidden, but very much present to those who know them well, such as and particularly their professors.
Voted on by teacher and selected by headmaster/mistress.
Slight degree of Ministry influence. That is to say, recommendations from Ministry employees can bear weight—but only in the decision process, after the top three students from each category have been selected.
Roles
Houses and specific personality traits to be determined by character sheets.
Character A is Muggle-born; the prejudice against Muggles—and the danger that they are in—drives their compulsion to speak up on behalf of those with Muggle ancestries (and Muggles themselves).
Character B is pure-blood; the need to demonstrate that not all pure-bloods side with Voldemort, are shallow, or unaware of their privilege is the reason they accept their nomination.
Character C is half-blood; they have no particular reason to join (unless their RPer comes up with a specific one) past wanting to make a difference.
Character D is an orphan with unknown heritage; the knowledge that they have relations somewhere out there who will be impacted by whatever unfolds overcomes any qualms they might have about participating.
