Greetings! I'm new.

Hello all! I am Mercy Davis. I am a high school junior at a fancy academy for the arts in Northern Michigan, where I study creative writing. I work mainly in fiction and poetry.

Prose has gotten me used to big casts of characters, and let me tell you. I have a whole lot of characters. Last time I counted them all, I had eighty something that had been given some amount of thought and development. Ask me about them! I probably have at least one who'd mesh well with yours.

That being said, I have three and a half well developed worlds, and then stories that take place in none of those. Ask me about my whole "Victorian women hiding the fact that they have giant tarantula legs under their hoop skirts" trope. I'm rather fond of it.

I also take a huge interest in history, historical fashion and other such things. I studied Latin for two years, Chinese for two years and I'm in the process of learning Portuguese. I can also effectively get around in Italian. Or... At least I can insult somebody to the point where they slap me in Italian.

When it comes to rp, I am very experienced and very flexible. I first started seriously rping in 2012, I've taught people how to rp, and on the website Disqus I am one of two mods of the channel RP&G, which is devoted to rps centered around one world: Uallowenor. I created Uallowenor, and the channel has over 2000 followers. It's insane, and I love it.

I can match your post length and depth. Generally, I am very, very character centric. I care more about tensions and emotions and dynamics than I do about plot, as fun as good plot lines can be. Like, if you're a broody vampire who hates him/her/xir self and his/her/xir immortality, I'll probably throw my character Lucy at you, because she works well with vampires in that she's immortal, and tends to piss them off in that she finds no angst in said immortality.

Please talk to me! I am a very friendly, gregarious, outgoing person, and I'm willing to talk or plot about... practically anything with practically anyone.

Welcome to RPN! *throws confetti in air* I'm Kestrel, but you can call me Kes if you want. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Tell me about your "Victorian women hiding the fact that they have giant tarantula legs under their hoop skirts" trope. I'm curious. Anyway, enjoy your stay!

Aaaahahahha. Yes. It started with a discussion about "were skirts invented so men could pretend that women didn't have legs," which evolved into spider legs, and then eventually a short story I never got around to finishing. The plan is to carefully weave women with spider legs into as many of my short stories and rps as physically possible. We'll see how this goes. If you want to read the thing half of a short story I wrote, you can.

Sure. I'm curious now.

Hello and welcome to the site! I'm new here as well but not new to roleplaying! I'm very character centric in my style as well, I love building dynamics with my characters and really focusing on the emotions and growth they go through. I hope we can maybe talk more~

Oh, awesome! We seem pretty similar in terms of style. We should plot together, some time.

Definitely. I may not have around 80 characters I use myself but I do have around 30 or so that I'm very serious about. I've been creating a fantasy world for my graphic novel for over a year and absolutely love discussing everything from world building to just character development. I'd love to hear about more of your creations and possibly get an rp started in the future~

Awesome! Yeah... Eighty is just a mark of writing/rping seriously for a long, long time. We should definitely talk more. That'd be really fun.

Greetings and salutations!

Welcome to RP Nation, where Roleplay is our business.

You've found us, congratulations for choosing the best RP site on the whole intertubes, we're glad you're here and a part of the expanding universe that is RP Nation. Also, now you're officially one of the cool kids.

Before you being your quest to becoming one of the old hats here at RPN, please do take a second and take a look at the site rules. You can find them here: INFO - Official Site Rules | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum.

Unlike the Pirate code, they aren't more like suggestions but rules that we take a bit seriously. If, however, you've got a few pieces of eight you'd like to swing our way, we're always more than happy to take it. (I said, the rules weren't suggestions, never said we weren't piratey mate).

Once you've had a glance over the rules there's more information to be had here: Site Questions & Information | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum. You can find something there to answer just about any question you might have.

Now then, I know that you have to answers that you're wanting answered now and the first is, you can join any RP that is open. You can find the different RP genres here: Roleplays | RpNation.com - Best Roleplay Forum

They're set up by genre so if you're looking for that Belgariad fandom RP (sorry, none yet exists here) then you'll know you aren't going to be looking in the futuristic genre. Each genre has an interest check at the top of the page and you can peruse this to see if anyone is wanting to create an RP.

If you are trolling the RPs and you just gotta make your own futuristic version of the Elenium, then you can pick the genre (future or fandom? I don't know!) and create an interest check. In the interest check you can tell the whole world about your RP and what you want to do with it. If you get enough people to say Aye! then you create your RP.

If you have any questions, issues, or concerns, don't hesitate to get in touch with either the moderators of your forum (the genre), the Super moderators, or even the admin staff. You can do that here: Site Questions & Information

If you have any questions you need to address to me, please tag me in your comments as I don't always get to every single response in every welcome thread and I end up missing a lot of questions. You can do that by using the @ before my handle.

Again, welcome to RPN and happy RPing.
