Proserpine "Pine” demon
--------------------------
“Your highness, Your highness how low will you go?"
Pine's eyes narrowed at the magazine that they were reading. They were sitting in a chair, legs propped up on the front desk and they chewed and smacked bubble gum whilst reading some magazine about whatever. Apparently some humans had somehow stumbled into their secluded town of Greenwood Falls, how the humans managed to do that they were not exactly sure. Pine's thumb skimmed through the pages of the magazine in a noticeable apathetic manner, them starting to get bored with reading it. If some human came into their store, then Pine wouldn’t really be bothered by it but they would definitely tell the human to “Hurry up and pick out what you want so you can leave faster.” Or something similar to that, whatever Pine was feeling like saying at the moment.
Pine rubbed their eyes vigorously before abruptly closing the magazine and they tossed it to the side without a care about it in the world. That magazine was getting too boring for them anyway, of course, and they wanted something a little bit more exciting even though they seemed to be the apathetic type of demon. Slowly but surely, Pine lowered their legs onto the ground and they stood up to go into the backroom of the store, deciding to go ahead and grab some more things from said room and bring them out front. Now, hanging in the back room was a long black dress that Pine was planning on wearing to the masquerade ball that was happening this evening and the demon planned on going alone unless someone suggested that they tag along with them.
The raven haired demon brought some stuff out into the main room of the store before taking their time with restocking the shelves with various items.
Amity unicorn
---------
"Suddenly you're free to fly."
Amity polished some shot glasses with tender care, using a pure white cloth to rub the glasses clean and he breathed his own breath onto the glass before wiping away the vapor of his breath. He was doing his own thing, nobody was up at the bar counter so he didn't have any drink orders to take. The unicorn places the glass away before moving on to another one, humming softly to himself as he picks up another glass to clean as if it were his daily routine to do this everyday almost all day at work. Amity bit down on his lower lip, lips slightly quirking up into a smirk before he promptly grabbed hold of a bottle of red wine and he poured himself a glass. Ah yes, sweetly red and crisp wine to cure his wild boredom. The unicorn heaved a cheery sigh before bringing the glass up to his lips and took a long swing of wine that gushed down his esophagus with ease.
He set the glass down and he swiped his tongue across his upper lip to get rid of any wine residue. He loved drinking on the job for some odd reason and the fact that nobody even seemed to care was just glorious and amazing. Amity huffed, leaning himself against the bar counter, holding the half empty wine glass with slender fingers whilst he looked around at the bar, hoping some of the…. Oh how should he put it? Precious humans maybe… yeah that’s right he was waiting for precious humans to enter the bar for a drink of course.
Ugh, he couldn’t wait for the masquerade ball tonight as he had picked out a rather pretty dress for him to wear and while he wasn’t fond of high heels, he would wear the heels but Amity would rather dance barefoot.
Ophelia moon dragon
------------
"Up to the test when things go wrong!"
Ophelia is your local baker, she made all the pastries and goodie sweets like cakes, cookies, cinnamon rolls, you name it! As a sign of welcome and appreciation, she was baking a whole lot of cookies for the humans that had come on to their town, which was surprising but who cares about that? It’s been a really long time since Greenwood Falls has seen a human… wait a minute, have they ever seen a human? Probably not but that’s okay! Ophelia hummed sweetly to herself as she mixed up the raw mint chocolate chip cookie dough in a bowl, shamelessly licking the whisk afterwards since she loved the taste of raw cookie dough. Even though tonight was a special night, Ophelia was still going to make these cookies and store them in the refrigerator so she could hand them out the very next day once the ball was done and over with. The cookies were just her personal way of saying “Welcome to Greenwood Falls!” and she just wanted to be kind about it. Oh, speaking of the ball… Ophelia still needed to go and pick up her tuxedo and mask from the shop before it was too late.
The bluenette hummed to herself continuously as she made the mint chocolate chip cookies, leisurely taking time to relax with her fully well knowing that she had enough time to pick up her tux and mask for the ball tonight. She had been thinking about getting a blue tuxedo but then again, maybe not. She could definitely go for a different color other than blue this time. With the cookies in the oven, Maya leaned against the counter and began to play around on her phone to pass the time since it was only in the afternoon hours of the day and the masquerade.
Zephaniel angel
---------------
"Oh good lord."
Zephaniel was filled with a mixture of emotions: Giddiness, Thrill, Excitement, and Anticipation. Humans had come into their town, the first humans to even do so! Naturally, the angel wanted to warmly welcome them to their humble town with some tasty drinks that they had come up with. For example: a tangerine, spinach, banana, and mango smoothie! It sort of looked disgusting and yucky but it was actually quite delectable in taste so it was worth a try. You see, Zephaniel liked to come up with weird concoctions of drinks and let the others try them out and critique them so that Zeph could make the concoction more tasty. Stuff like bacon, peanut butter, and whipped cream milkshakes which sounded like a bizarre combination but it was actually pretty good. At least, they thought so of course and they wanted to kindly share the unique drinks with the humans. With autumn weather setting in, people were bound to come into the cafe for a warm drink.
The angel began to make themself a cup of coffee, adding whipped cream, peppermints, sugar sweetener, and creamer to it for a deliciously sweet concoction of a drink. Zeph dry slurped up some of the whipped cream before drinking some of the actual hot liquid. They licked some of the whipped cream from their upper lip before looking up to see Fae, one of their fellow baristas and it made a grin come onto Zeph’s already cheery face. Zephaniel promptly began to make their way over to Fae.
“Fae, I have the absolute best idea.” Zeph piped up happily to the siren who was their fellow barista worker in the cafe. The angel was in a jolly mood today, and they wanted to propose their idea to Fae and see if she would roll along with it. “How about we give the humans whatever drinks we have made and they’ll be the first ones to try it, besides us of course!” Zephaniel spoke cheerily to their coworker, a wholesome smile gracing itself across their lips. The jolly angel then brought their coffee cup up to their lips, slurping up more whipped cream before moving onto drinking the hot, tangy and sweet liquid, eagerly awaiting for a human or one of their fellow residents to enter the cafe.
Skylar kelpie
----------
"Wolves are asleep amidst the trees."
Skylar spun around in her chair, bored out of her mind since apparently business at her tattoo parlor and she didn't want to give herself her own tattoo out of sheer boredom. Couldn’t exactly go swimming whenever she felt like it either because some humans just had to stumble in on their peaceful neighborhood and ruin the fun. Sky didn’t like the fact that some humans had waltzed right in here and now she couldn’t go into the water, stay under for however long she liked, and come back up the surface because those humans might see her and that is something that could not happen. Okay, maybe just a quick swim as a refreshment and she could peek her head above the surface of the water to see if there are any humans nearby, yes yes that is great! Skylar’s vocal cords vibrated in cheer as she leaped out of the rolling chair and over to the window to turn the ‘OPEN’ sign to the ‘CLOSED’ sign, just for now at least until she got back from her swim. The raven haired kelpie exited their tattoo parlor, casually strolling along the cobblestone street down towards the dock whilst not paying attention to anyone or anything around her. Once at the dock, Skylar whipped her head from side to side to see if anybody was nearby or if someone was staring straight at her. Skylar smirked in content before she sat down and slid into the cold water below to not draw attention towards the ocean as well as herself.
Once in the water, Skylar’s appearance began to morph into her true form… a jet black horse with strands of seaweed tangled in the mane and tail, slick and sticky coat, and strong legs. She could stay underwater for as long as she wanted with her being a water dwelling being but this was just a quick swim to shake off boredom caused by slow business hours. The water was cold against her coat, not as cold as in the winter time but the coldness was never a bother to Skylar. It was quiet under the waves, absolute silence besides the muffled sound of Skylar’s legs paddling and kicking around playfully. What seemed like minutes was when Sky slowly broke the surface of the water, strutting herself closer to the rocky shoreline to see if anyone was nearby.
Maya human
-------------------
“You’re hot and you’re cold.”
Ever since she had arrived into this town, something was a little off. For instance, the fact that it was secluded from civilization and the fact that the entrance to said town was thick with vines and kudzu. Something was definitely up with this place and as much as she wanted to stick her nose in where it didn’t belong, she didn’t want to anger the residents and get kicked out of this wonderful place. Maya was a photographer, she loved taking pictures of various things and developing the photos afterwards, and this town was what Maya would call photogenic material. Currently, Maya was in the library sitting at one of the tables and she had a book opened up in front of her. The redhead had been hoping to find some sort of book that contained the town history and what was going on here but unfortunately, she had trouble finding such a book in this lush library.
So, apparently the residents host masquerade balls to welcome new people. It was an interesting thing, but Maya as well as some others who had stumbled into this peculiar town were strangers but it would be a good way of getting to know these people of course. However, she would need a dress and all to be able to go, and a good one too as well as a pretty looking mask to fit in. There was a clothing shop here right? So, Maya might as well go there and look for some last minute dresses and masks that suited her taste, her red taste to be more specific because she loved anything that was the color red basically. The redhead got up, closed the book, put it back where she had found it, and she walked out of the library. Maya eagerly walked down the cobblestone street and down towards the clothing shop where she could hopefully find a red dress, red mask, red everything that she needed for the masquerade ball.
