Here it is! The OOC thread! I might make a Discord sooner or later, but for not here's the thread where you can post memes, plot story ideas with everyone else, or just chat about random things in general!

BOOP

I am making a "siren"

and maybe twin doctors, but definitely at least one doctor.

Wolf are doctor and patients assigned it them at random every week?
I assume the place they live (doctors) at is close tot heir work and therefore there is no immediate threat of the virus outside of the lab and in that general area where the doctors live/sleep?

Chimeric Chimeric Good question! So here's the thing about doctor/patient assignments. Usually, throughout the day, patients are passed off to random doctors who are available at the current moment. However, some days the facility may assign a specific doctor to a specific patient, meaning throughout the day that doctor tests that patient and only that patient for the whole day. This is normally done for a number of reasons, whether it's for the sake of organization and management or to test a doctor's specific skills and abilities.

As for living quarters, doctors are usually expected to live closer to GreenGlen so commute is easier, however it's ultimately up to the individual doctor where they want to live, as long as they can get to work on time. The Higher Ups are very fickle. However, the area where doctors live doesn't guarantee they are free of the virus. In fact, there are certain safety precautions people throughout the city try to attempt in order to prevent infection, but it's still a bit unclear how the virus is necessarily spread, so all they can really do is suit up when in direct contact with the infected (i.e. at the labs). Still, does this mean that wherever the doctors live, no matter how close by to the labs, is free from contagion? No.

Hmm.... The hazmat suits kind of make the T-shirt detail in Dr. Norton's Bio kind of superfluous. Oh well.

At any rate, I'm considering making another doctor, since we have need of them, and also a Type B patient.
For the doctor, I'm thinking one with more of a nerdy sense of humor than Jake's, but that's literally the only character trait I can think of for a doctor at the moment.
For the patient, I was thinking a goth guy who can make plant matter appear. Like, just magically manifesting some roses or something. I'm not sure how powerful I want him to be, but I do know I want him to be snarky about his powers. The worst part is, he isn't even the patient that I want to introduce later in the rp. He's a completely new idea.

Yeah, I've got character fever. There's not a limit, is there?

At the current moment there is not! Also, the full on hazmat suits are only for the Hazmats, which are the Lab's unplayable security force. Doctors are mainly required to wear lab coats and gloves, but other than that I think they can wear pretty much anything they like. You might be judged for wearing something casual but I don't think it's straight up banned. You just need to be safe enough to handle patients and even then GreenGlen doesn't require as heavy contact with patients as Hazmats may have with them.

Phew! Thanks for confirming.

Idk why I'm putting so much detail into Calvin's jacket patches, but I'm having a ridiculous amount of fun imagining what they look like.

Question! If our patient is awake before wake up time are they allowed to just wander around their cell or do they have to stay in bed??

Also what sorta things are in their rooms, ik they're supposed to be kinda bare bones but like desk? Chair? (can it be spinny? I have plans if so) Posters, little toys whyve been given for entertainment? Like what are the limits for our rooms.

Feral Feral Good question! When it’s nighttime and it’s time for a patient to go to bed, it’s sort of a “lights out” type situation where all the lights are turned off and while the patient can roam around their cell if they really wanted to, they’d have to do so without being caught. However in the morning, I feel like it’s a sort of similar situation except a bit more lax. The staff may find it a bit odd or even suspicious for a patient to wake up early especially given how few hours they have to sleep, but hey it makes it easier for them to interview.

As mentioned in the cell room description, all patient cells contain the same basic items; a bed, a desk, a chair, a dresser, and a smaller room in the back that contains a toilet and sink. I’d imagine the chairs are normally basic wooden ones but if a patient wanted a spinny chair I could see the staff giving one to them. Also, yes! Patient cells tend to have little items or things that cater to the individual such as posters, toys, games, plants, or things in general that the patient enjoys. These are usually given by the staff either as a form of enrichment or if patient specifically requests something to be added to their room. In fact these supplementary items are often encouraged as they give the patient something to do in their cells during breaktime, preventing a higher likelihood of escaping. They even have little landline phones in there that they can use to talk to other patients during the break period (albeit that’s the only people the phone lets them call.) Despite GreenGlen’s overall barbaric nature in general, the cells are somewhat a bit more patient friendly in that regard.

Pipsqueak Pipsqueak Thank you, you too! ❤️

How many characters are we even allowed to have? Like just as many as we can handle?

Hello! I'm interested in joining, but before I decided to go make a CS I want to ask if this still open? If it is, then that's great, because I love the idea!

I've got a question Wolf. I understand you won't no images due to art theft, however, are you okay if we use images/gifs from Animes/Cartoons/TV Shows? I'm just curious since one of the two doctors I'm making has the appearance of Violet Evergarden from the series "Violet Evergarden". If it's not allowed, no harm, no foul :)

I changed my mind. I'm actually just gonna use picrew to make images for my characters. Yes, they are original works that I did.

Sorry for the lack of response!

Feral Feral Yeah pretty much.
TheSpeck TheSpeck Yep and thank you!
.titania .titania Dually noted. I'm still trying to mull over whether or not I'll allow images from cartoons and anime. Also, let me know when you are finished with your characters. They look really good so far!

Actually going to repost this from the interest thread:

Important Announcement: Because of the influx of more doctor characters, I've decided that I will begin creating the RP soon! I'm probably going to wait a bit for more people to finish their forms before posting it, but just know that it will be released hopefully soon! Additionally, just because the RP will start does not mean the thread is closed, if people still want to join even if the RP has already started, they will still be allowed to join.
