Grand Fleet

Nanautzin jumped to his viral structure and pressed his hand against it. As he feed the structure energy he also absorbed the souls, sating his hunger and giving the smallest of boosts. As he flapped his wings Nanautzin watched as the viral structure moved according to his design, the spikes propagating from mortal to within the crowd and the corpses who have already had their souls taken were being pumped full of viral energy and turned into puppets. As the zombie like creatures were released from the spikes that had killed them all they could think about was feasting on the thing that had been stolen from them: Souls. The zombies would wander towards humans feasting on their flesh and absorb their souls. Then they would return to Nanautzin and relinquish the soul to their demon master.

With the primary function of the structure complete Nanautzin reassigned the biomass to the creation of a new being capable of holding many souls. The large biomass began compressing itself until it was the shape of an egg, which glowed with a dark purple and red glow as the biomass consumed Nanautzin's energy to create the being.

"Oh, no no no, you seem to be mistaken, my pathetic excuse for an immortal. Not everyone can become a demon as you say. There are conditions; a certain mindset; a reason; a desire... Do you think your average weak minded human could honestly handle the power such as this?" He twirled the scythe, carving deep grooves into the floor, "What I find vile is the idiocy and hypocrisy of my enemy's supposed commander. You say any mortal could achieve what took the destruction of many planets to obtain what I have? Then how, may I ask, have you gained your power?" He grinned and walked towards Theon, unconcerned by the gun and scythe slowly spinning in his grip, "You are no true immortal. You are no demon. You are certainly not mortal. So what does that make you?" The scythe stopped moving, plunged into the ground. William's grin oozed with malicious intent and arrogance, yet it held a serious undertone to it, "You are nothing. You should never have existed. There is no place for you in this universe. You are a broken fragment of real power, a shattered mirage of true strength. Immortal's are born with their power. Demons work hard to take power from others to better themselves. From what I hear, you take power from your own and keep it for yourselves. There is no effort, no entitlement, no pride. You are weak and lazy, you know not the hardships of life and unlife." The scythe now pointed at Theon. The flesh demon stared at him with a cool gaze, his serious expression leaving no doubt he had finished playing games, "You call yourselves immortals..." As he spoke, his voice changed into a deep demonic growl. His eyes glowed red and a scarlet energy ran through his veins. Time seemed to freeze and William appeared a mere few centimetres from the fake immortal's face, "I shall show you real immortality."

And then the scythe caught up, slamming into his hand. It kept going, a massive spike in red aether pulsing around it like a field as it sought to tear into Theon from the right side.

Theon smirked as the bullets of concentrated chemical energy pierced William's soul, seeping into his energy pool, mixing in with it. A process that would eventually begin to reduce his speed greatly. Did the Demon underestimate him that much? Theon assumed he was over-confident in his new form, as a "trump card". He chuckled briefly, listening to William's rantings, it was mind-boggling to Theon that a demon would attempt to accuse him of laziness. The nerve. "No place for us in this universe? You seem to have some misconceptions, demon. We are mortals! We are simply, more. While on the other hand, you are less than mortal. The Aether in our souls is proof, it is the life of the universe, but if you take a look inside yourself, you'll find only dark matter. The plague we must rid the universe of. Don't you dare act as if you earned this power, you are nothing more than a mortal who has been infected by the disease!" He shouted, sliding in a new magazine and blasting a couple shots into William's core, before he suddenly appeared before him. With his left arm, Theon unsheathed his blade and used it to block William's scythe, in one swift motion. The scythe was stronger, and Theon wouldn't be able to hold it for long, however, he had a second weapon. Theon then blasted the remains of his magazine directly into the Demon's face, following up by dashing backwards out of the scythe's range. This seemed to be going well for Theon, this was his ideal situation, his whole combat style was based around countering attacks, and William had allowed him to do that perfectly. Now, Theon had avoided most damage, and William should already be feeling some detrimental effects of his chemicals. Theon had decided William's speed should be the first to go, so he manufactured the chemicals based around that, but sooner or later, his strength and stamina should drop too. If Theon could continue avoiding high-damage attacks, the battle should be under the control of his chemicals.

"I'll have you know, William. The soldiers here work hard for their power, we don't take from others, we share. This is not some soup of various beings, such as the Red Zone, or Bad Town, we are one being. The Grand Fleet. You want to take me on? You're taking on the entire Fleet with me. Are you truly prepared for that?" Theon stood back with his blade ready, preparing for what William had to follow up with.

@Destructus Kloud

Acantha facepalmed as Theon walked into the arena, she had not planned for reinforcements, she was going to stall them and lead them away from population sectors. She watched as the two demons went off to a security barracks with bored eyes, then she decended near @Archene "so we meet again Mr. Handsome" she was now 'laying down' on her strings hands on her cheeks. "i see you've been shopping without me" that soul armor will be annoying to deal with, if i have to deal with it at all that is..

(He's not in his new form right now!!! And I also briefly mentioned that he had a more protected soul due to a cocoon of hardened bone around his heart where he keeps his largest concentration of souls. It should be a little harder to penetrate right into his soul like that. And we all know his bone is made of harder stuff than steel)

William shook his head. He had no more time for wordplay. His face had been blown apart but it reformed, the red tentacles threading the two halves back together. He walked forward slowly but his scythe blurred. It almost seemed like there were two secs, two circles of the blade spinning, for he spun it so fast that it created an afterimage briefly, "Enough of this foolishness. The strongest body and soul shall decide the victor of this argument." His scythe would block bullets and swords alike. His speed was still at optimum levels because the chemicals that had entered his body, eating away at the hardened lay of bone that led to his main soul. He wasn't sure for how long it would hold this fake immortal's power back for, but it should be long enough.

The Virus Immortal

Malesh followed along the two demons, clearly turning a blind eye to their actions. May these few mortals ensure that the lives of the rest are safely kept. It made no difference whether a mortal's soul would be devoured near or far away from him. If he stopped them, at most, he'd find himself in a needless fight. His mission wasn't to save Mortals from immediate danger, but to make a better future for all souls still around to reincarnate by then. He was, however, taken away from his moment of self-consoling by Acantha.

He turned his head to properly look at her, smiling reflexively within the armor, "Glad to see you are still intact, Miss Gorgeous.Not a good comeback, and maybe she isn't even single. He seemed to ponder for a moment before asking, "I'd have gotten one for you, but they didn't have one that would match yourself. Shouldn't you go help your friend? He might have a hard time up ahead, don't worry. I can watch your back for you." He hoped she did, it was the whole reason for him to leave the demons alone so that the Great Fleet could deal with them. Didn't they have stronger people around, or were they also being attacked elsewhere for this incursion to be this easy?

@Petroshka

(I was only referring to the fact he has the form unlocked, not that he's in it currently. Also your power is flesh, not bone)

The demon appeared to have blocked a number of his bullets using a form of barrier, but whether the demon knew it or not, Theon had blasted multiple magazines worth of bullets into his soul, definately enough to penetrate it and affect his overall speed. "Very well, I don't fear you. Kill me, and i'll simply be replaced by someone much, much stronger than either me or you." Theon smiled as he formed a new magazine, tilting his gun to allow it to slide in. "Come at me, demon. You don't have long, you know." He cocked his pistol, casually firing off rounds at the demon's head and feet, just in order to keep him on edge, but never allowing his clip to empty, in preparation for William's next attack.

(You're being pedantic. I mean, I could just say really hardened flesh or something but that's stupid. Surely I can just manipulate my bones using my flesh to make weapons? Plus bone is much cooler because I was about to reference UBW. :P )

Round after round was pumped into his body, the chemical energy eating away at his flesh and skin, melting it. A few rounds of the immortal's attack had breached his last shield and now lay amongst the souls he had captured over the years. He was slow, he was being looked down upon and he was angered. The red aether sparked and his flesh regrew faster than the chemicals could burn it, more and more mass being produced than the bullets could rip through. Still they scythe twirled, blocking the majority of the shots. This man wanted to weaken him before finishing him off. "How cowardly." He muttered, bullets still flying into his weapon or past him. He needn't resort to such underhanded tactics, a gentleman didn't fight in such a way. His legs suddenly began to bulge, muscle grew at an exponential rate, almost tripling in his thighs and calves as he poured energy into buffing up his legs. Once they were ready, he stopped his scythe, getting into a stance as he prepared to strike, "I will cut you down and any who fill your place then. Each of your warriors shall take up the post of valiant battle. Each of your warriors shall be consumed. There is no true death for an immortal. There is only soulless existence as we take souls for ourselves to fill that gap. Tell me, amongst all the souls that reside in you, can you find your original one?" A faint smile touched his lips, "I can't. I believe I lost mine the day I became a demon, the souls of others being all that I needed to sustain myself." His muscles in his legs clenched and bunched up. If his speed were to be hindered, pure strength would make up for it, "I am the bone of my blade." The red aether flared around him. His scythe glinted off a light, ready, "Unknown to death, not known to life." At the last second, muscles grew in his arm too, bulging in several places, rippling, "Unlimited..." He looked up, a dark expression of utter determination uncharacteristically ingrained into his face, "Blade." He leaped, his legs releasing so much power from that one jump that the built up muscles destroyed themselves. But they had accomplished what he had needed. Rocketing towards Theon, his scythe came up and crashed down. The point of impact was aimed to split Theon in half at the head. And in that moment came the final roar from William, "WORKS!!!"

@Rurnur(there we go, that's what I wanted xD )

(Not really, your bone shield blocking every single one of my attacks was a bit too strong, and kindof acts as a double ability. Also i'm not sure why your character would have Aether, you should be writing Dark Matter instead.)

Theon furrowed his brow, while William offered no resistance, he allowed his soul to constantly regenerate more and more energy that he would blast into the demon's soul. An arrogant opponent like this was usually a good time, they'd always understimate the effects of his chemicals, letting him gain the advantage in the long run. Theon shook his head, smiling as the Demon continued to speak. "Ignorant beast, you should know we do not take souls, we're not scum like you. My soul is my own, but the Aether within is property of the Grand Fleet." Theon stated annoyedly, backing up slightly while reloading, noticing that the Demon seemed to be preparing for an attack. "Well, quit talking and show me how good you really are! Don't think you can hold back against me!" Theon shouted, dashing into the air towards William. While in the air, Theon blasted a round or two into William's arm, in a feeble attempt to weaken his strike. Upon realising the true power of the coming attack, Theon quickly leant back and tossed his pistol, gripping his blade in both hands, charging it full of chemical energy before slamming it against his enemy's scythe from below. The impact of the guard dislodged a lot of the chemicals, causing them to splash against William's soul, melting it even further, this time, designed to reduce the demon's strength. But, Theon's uncoordinated attack had it's downfall, his raw strength was not enough to deflect the scythe, and was pushed aside, allowing William's scythe to drag down across Theon's shoulder, painfully scraping into his soul. He gasped and grit his teeth, quickly regaining concentration mid-air, where he began to strike at William's sides with a blade coated in deadly chemicals, now that his scythe was lowered, unable to guard from his attacks.

(Bone is basically just a hardened extension of te flesh if you really think about it. It's like the shell of a tortoise. Also that small shield isn't meant to block you completely, just partially. This is already confusing enough as it is, you know what I mean by red aether, I'll just call it dark matter for now.)

As with the immortal captain from before, William's flesh part, allowing the blade to travel through his body with contact. Gazing coolly down at the immortal as the strike's aim was true but he still missed, the flesh demon's scythe smacked Theon back with the pole part in a backhanded blow, "This battle brings boredom to me, we shall cease this now." The scythe disintegrated to nothing and William called over to Nanautzin, "Brother, remove this poison from my soul. That disgusting underhanded immortal has seen fit to try and defile me." He turned his back on Theon and walked back to his demon kin. He had contemplated revealing his new form, but had decided against it. Vermin like this, no, lower beings, even lower than vermin, did not deserve to be graced with his powerful presence. Not when all they could do was apply foolish tactics instead of fighting with raw power. Not when they had no honour or dignity, when they fought for others rather than themselves. But William was no fool. He suspected the chemical immortal would attempt to back stab him now that their battle was concluded. As such, he was all the more prepared to riddle him with tentacles should he try to do so. He leisurely walked back to the mass of virus, now completely ignoring Theon. Show him all he had? He scoffed, as if he would really do that. When he found an enemy worthy enough of that, then he would.

"Hm..." Fellos mused to himself as he caught the glint of something in her uniform. Apparently, she had also noticed the flash because she immediately pulled her clothes on a littler tighter and made a point to keep it out of sight. Some kind of hidden weapon? Apparently, there was still more to her than met the eye. How attractive of her.

Fellos had not actually noticed the weaker beings closer to them. He had been so concentrated on his fight with the female soldier and the growing powers beyond that that he hadn't actually detected them. Still, it was amusing how Gabriel proposed a race to get to them first. "Please little officer. Don't insult me with assuming you'll actually when a foot race with me." He replied with a conniving grin. It was in an instant but he deepened his stance and pushed off against the ground with such force that the metal floor under his feet groaned and warped in protest to his strength and power. Fellos shot off like a human bullet out of hell in the direction of the lesser beings. Though he wasn't going to really try to win it. He was just doing this as a show of speed to his temporary comrade. That this was a speed he could maintain for quite some time but he ultimately just needed to keep pace with her. He still didn't know his way around the ship after all.

(Don't mind me just eating souls and making zombies. :) )

Nanautzin's horde of viral puppets had already presented him with most of the mortal souls in the area, they weren't really fast so quite a few were able to run away, and with each soul taken the body was infected with his viral energy which reanimated the brain enough for basic functions and new zombies began shambling about heading back to their master.

The creature Nanautzin had been crafted needed only to incubate for a little longer and it would burst to life, ready to take on low level immortals and humans alike.

Nanautzin had watched the results of his first generation of viral puppets with a keen eye. Noticing that they lacked speed and power he figured it was time was an evolution to take place. Opening his mouth wide Nanautzin released what seemed to be a mist over his puppets, but in truth they were millions of viral spores with new DNA that would trigger his desired evolution.

latest

The extra biomass would serve as protection as well as augment their strength by acting as muscle. With the new DNA taken hold and his desired evolution complete Nanautzin sent his viral puppets out to harvest souls deeper into the grand fleet.

Nanautzin nodded as his fellow demon walked over to him, " Understood, but I will have to fill your soul with my own energy and I'm not sure what that would do." Nanautzin said putting his hand over the demons heart and pushing his energy into the soul to counter the chemicals.

@Rurnur @Destructus Kloud

William smirked, "Fear not, I have the souls from many devoured planets and an immortal itself. This is no more than an annoyance. I hold no doubt that you will isolate this scum from me with ease." He knew the virus demon could not extinguish his vast soul as it was now, not would the chemicals that resided there now. Both would serve to do what these fakes had hoped of the demons and immortals, to wipe each other out. And if not, Nanautzin would withdraw his agents soon after he was done. For that reason, William decided to entrust the viral demon with this task; a show of honour and camaraderie, like the true nobleman that he was. As such, he still focused in keeping the foreign agents from messing with his soul too much. This also meant that he was no longer concerning himself with any attack brought up them, leaving it up to Nanautzin and his horde of monsters.

@SleepyBuddha

Acantha 'floated' around the the virus immortal, "Nawh i think he'll be alright but it would be more reassuring if a certain handsome man help us stop demons from killing innocent mortals that cant defend themselves from said demons." Gesturing toward the two demons and theon. "Anyways i can guarantee you will be released peacefully if you help us" She shrugged. "And if you dont we will have to fight you."

Gabriel raised an eyebrow as the mortal showed off, smirking at it. The moment he propelled himself towards the door the serpent followed suit, the monster's body slithering gracefully, in Gabe's opinion, across the metal as it lunged at the enforced door. The officer slid down serpent's spine, holding for a protruding stone scale close to the beast's head as it slammed against the door, obliterating them and opening the passage into the hallway. Immediately after the snake followed the path, and with a jump Forfax was back on the serpent's forehead, looking over her shoulder at the warrior.

The officer chuckled as she noticed that he wasn't so far back, and she sat down on the monster's head. "It's straight ahead,then right at the last turning,you can't miss it sir,or are you just sparing me?" she taunted further, glancing at the mortal from her leisure higher place, with the serpent bellow her crossing large distances quickly. Using the same tactic the rather strong man did, Forfax could outrun him with her smaller size and weight, but that wasn't what the younger soldier was striving for. After all, it made her lighten up to see the serious fighter-

Reaper's train of thoughts got abrupted by a loud thumping coming from the other end of the hallway, the source of it approaching them quickly with unpredictable trajectory. Gabriel squinted, trying to make out the shape of it under the dim red light as the alarms were still fully functioning, only to frown and yank the scythe from the holster on her back as she recognized the energy emitted.Suddenly a piece of metal appeared in their eyesight, trashing around and destroying every surface it touched. The officer jumped on her feet and aggressively swayed her war scythe towards the flying shard manipulated by gravity, slicing it in two, only for those pieces to start moving independently from one another. Her shoulders tensed as one bounced against the wall with great speed, enough great for her to barely avoid it by stepping back. Gabriel glared up towards the stationary location of the gravity immortal, it being outside of Grand Fleet, not having forgotten about his presence for a mere moment.

Theon scoffed upon being knocked back briefly, skidding across the floor as he landed. "You think you have room to call the shots, here of all places? This will end when the Fleet is free of your putrid disease!" Theon shouted, emptying magazine upon magazine into William's soul as he attempted to walk away. "What do you think you're doing? Running for help? I'll take on both of you, if need be!" He crouched, gripping his blade and charging it full of chemical energy. Drawing his arm back, he took aim and then released it, sending the blade spinning rapidly towards William. Whether or not the blade hit his soul directly, chemicals would be sprayed over all in the nearby area, anyone in it's range would be infected in some regard. "You don't have time to feign boredom, at the very least, be honest and admit you can't take me on yourself! Absolutely pathetic. Besides, you're going to the wrong demon for the job, I already scared off Nanautzin earlier, he ran away. Just, like, you. You're all the same, demons. Always running from even the weakest soldiers in the fleet." Theon raised his head, chuckling at the demon's cowardice.

@Destructus Kloud@SleepyBuddha

William shook his head, "Why do mortals find insulting themselves to be a clever response?" He asked Nanautzin exasperatedly. A wall of flesh stemmed from his back and rose up above them. The sword sunk in and disappeared slowly, "Go fight that viral immortal, chemical mortal. You cannot defeat us as you are now." He called over the wall of mass that had blocked the sword. Nanautzin had been gathering humans and their souls, powering himself up in his new form and raising an army. This Theon wouldn't dare to fight them now, or he would lose his life needlessly. He would have better luck with the normal mortals.

@SleepyBuddha @Rurnur

Theon made a fist, frustrated at these demon's tactics. "Dammit, you cowards. If you really think I don't stand a chance, then why don't you kill me! You're all nothing but talk." He shouted at the top of his lungs, looking down at the smoking gun in his hand. Was he really being forced to retreat? They had him outnumbered, and they had both achieved new forms, the odds were obviously against him. But then again, Theon knew both of them, and had bested both of them in combat once before, also, he had a syringe prepared. He was tired of standing around, at this point, he'd rather die than run away. "It's my job." He said to himself, before charging forward, re-summoning his blade mid-run. He'd already reduced William's combat abilities so much, there's no way he could give up now. Theon yelled and plunged his blade into the mass of flesh, using waves of aether to rip the wall apart with each strike, pouring chemicals from his blade into the flesh, seeping into it's veins and forcing it to retreat down to the floor.

As Theon stepped through the remains of the wall, drenched in putrid blood and organic material, he smiled at William and said "Not expecting me, huh?" before he raised his free hand up from his waist. Slowly forming a whip-like weapon from pure chemical energy, upon finishing, Theon dashed to the side, striking at William with his new weapon, each attack destroying a part of the whip, allowing the chemicals to spray out onto the nearby area, melting it's way into the demon's souls. He would make quick motions with his hands, maneuvering the whip around the two demons, slashing at them from all angles, all the while dashing to different locations.

@SleepyBuddha@Destructus Kloud

The whip came out and slashed William, tearing deep grooves in his body, but to no avail as it pieces itself back together, "You are not smart, mortal. Nor are you powerful. Are you, then, lucky? Perhaps not." William half-heartedly extended a hand outwards to Theon, palm out in a grasping motion. The blood that now coated Theon burned. It would feel like pure acid on his flesh as it burnt through him. His flesh would melt slowly and the pain intense. His only option was to kill William or otherwise make him stop, or retreat to out of his range of allowing the blood to actively eat away at him. It, either way, would be William's victory and he would be rid of this annoying man. Had Nanautzin finished cleansing his soul yet? This was taking too long. At least the zombified mortals had begun to notice the chemical mortal and attack him. At this rate he would definitely need back up.

@SleepyBuddha @Rurnur (I don't recall ever being beaten by you!  ;)

Nanautzin was taking his time with his demonic brethren as he poured his viral energy into him. The viral energy not only worked to cleanse the chemicals from his soul, but also gave Nanautzin the ability to change the body on the cellular level.  Using the opportunity afforded by the wall Nanautzin changed the toughest of his skin to as tough as possible, changing his skin into a thick membrane.

Nanautzin would take whatever damage was necessary to save his creature from harm, who was moving around in the egg trying to break free. Nanautzin used his energy to coordinate his viral puppets to surround and attack Theon.

@Rurnur @Destructus Kloud

William looked down at his hand in surprise, noticing it looked different. It had a green tinge as well as a more rough surface to it, "Ah, I see. Thank you, Nanautzin." He bowed his head in gratitude to him, flexing his fingers. They certainly felt tougher, and the chemicals had already begun to fade. He had been returned his strength it seemed. His speed was another matter altogether, as he felt his limbs would fall apart if he were to try execute really fast moves, the joints being unable to take the pressure. But now his muscles were unhindered. But despite that, he had felt he had enough of this senseless fighting. Let the mortals and the immortals fight; there were souls to be harvested and Nanautzin's creation was nearly ready, whatever it was.

After briefly clashing with the two demons, they had eventually escaped from Theon's range, leaving him too exhausted to follow. @SleepyBuddha@Destructus Kloud

Dissapointed in the fight results, Theon decided to return through the rubble and provide backup to his team. He had to put his faith in the rest of the fleet to defend against those two. The Virus Immortal

"Your words are very persuasive pretty one, even without that last threat, I wouldn't be able to avoid helping you. As long as I can leave in peace, all will be well." The Immortal glanced the way of the Demons and the Artificial, "We should be helping him now, I don't think he can stall even one of them for much longer." He was already preparing half a dozen purplish spikes that were around his arm length. All of them quietly floated besides him, ready to be launched when required. Certainly, they were not pointed at the String Artificial he was talking to.

@Petroshka

Acantha put a hand to her earpiece "Everythings just peachy" Then she looked back at @Archene "He just told me hes fine so.." All around the two of them strings suddenly appeared, making a small arena between the two. "Unfortunately, they told me i cant let you leave. but, if you help us i might say you slipped from my grasp while fighting some demons" she winked at him. Hopefully Theon really did have everything under control or at least out of the demons grasp, and hopefully she can wrap this immortal into helping them. after all three or four against two is quite the advantage.

It had not been long since the fight, but now William and Nanautzin marched onwards through the fleet with their army of zombified minions. The creature the virus demon was making floated along with them in its sac, waiting to be released (I think?). A few humans had sought to stop them, only to be converted by viral zombification via a certain viral strain. William marched at the head of the troop with Nanautzin, leading the trek into enemy territory. He wasn't sure how far they needed to go, but they had already travelled far enough, "We shall rest here, brother. Set up some viral defences and have your men take up their positions to flank should we come under attack." William sat on a swivel desk chair and sighed. The chemicals had just finally left his system now and his speed had returned, but it had been exhausting marching here and fighting off both the burning chemicals and the disease that was assimilating it within his soul. Of course it wasn't a physical exertion that he felt; for he had the perfect biologically weaponised vessel for his powerful soul to reside in. Well, his soul certainly didn't feel too powerful right now, as that was where he was feeling the exhaustion from. It was an effort to stay awake and not just pass out and recuperate. The virus had now started leaving his system, appropriate seeing as the chemicals had been eliminated. He would have questioned Nanautzin's loyalty had it decided to remain there, but thankfully he had no need to as it vanished without trace. Soon the army would spread and the demons would destroy everything the mortals had built, and everything the immortal's were being destroyed by. After all, it wouldn't do to have their prey killed before they could kill them.
