Roleplay Type(s)
Worldbuilding is fun! You get to create a world any way you'd like. Post-apocalyptic despair, fantastical magic, highschool drama, the only thing holding you back is your imagination!
Though, as fun as it is to create your own world, the process kinda gets lonely if you don't have anyone to share it with.
So hey, what better thing to do than grab a coffee, sit down with a friend, and watch the birth of a universe?

This roleplay is less roleplay and more thought-experiment. If you want to exercise your imagination, create a new world for a new book, or just want to talk to somebody, this roleplay might be for you. Though be warned, this roleplay can be highly volatile in that there are hardly any rules or guidelines to follow (except for the basic guild rules and etiquette). You can bring a friend if you'd like, but no more than three can attend a worldbuilding session at once or else things get... complicated.
Outside the actual worldbuilding, there will be a set setting, though that's up to us to decide. We can be in a dystopian city trying out a new worldbuilding game, in a rustic tavern that smells of beer and dwarves looking in a magic mirror, or in a normal 1670s French cafe scribbling nonsense on a piece of paper. There's also the perfectly fine option to keep things simple and have the setting be literally the forum itself. Anything goes with these sessions.
In terms of how much you have to write, you can write as much or as little as you want (within reason).
In terms of time, it's always better to arrange a session for live posting. Though since that's not always possible, I do ask that a post be made somewhat frequently (a post at least every 4-5 days).

Anyways, those are the base details of this roleplay/thought-experiment. I hope to have a wonderful worldbuilding session!

Mechking Mechking That's completely fine! Though the RP is best when you're on that creative high, it can certainly be enjoyed at slower paces.

Since there's more than a few people currently viewing this thread, I might include a new mechanic that allows multiple groups, each in their own sub-threads. Though, we'll have to see if it gets to that point.

Update: I made a new post about the mechanics, but that won't be up until it gets approved by the admins.

I'll just post the multi-group mechanic now:

In the extra's thread, each group of 2-3 will have their own sub-thread. Most of the action happens here. The main thread (which will be in the group tab) will have links to all the sessions. The main thread will act similarly to an OOC thread.
If you have permission from another group, you can link both of your worlds together! You can do this as many times as you'd like, given that you get permission each time. Though, just because your world has an indirect link to another world doesn't mean you can access them. As a general rule of thumb, you can only access worlds that you have permission to access. However, how that access works in the context of your world is up to you. ;)
Oh, and about the meta-worlds*, there will obviously be different worlds. As such, communication will be translated according to the meta-world. For example, if you have a technological dystopia meta-world communicating with a high-fantasy one, the technological dystopian people will see the wizards as players while the wizards will see the dystopian as wizards. The groups will not be aware (initially) that the other groups are not from their worlds (except for the groups that decide to have their meta-world literally be the forum).
Lastly, if you want to use another group's sandbox or meta world for an RP, ask for permission. Technically, you can go on ahead and do it, and I wouldn't be able to stop you. ...But it's a good idea to be polite. Oh, if you want to be exceptionally weird and if you got the permissions, you can connect the original world with the parallel one or (if you're a mad lad) have them be one and the same.

*This is gonna be confusing, so let's define a few definitions. The OOC is the OOC. The meta-world is where the characters are manipulating the sandbox world (note that it can be the forum itself). The sandbox world is where the actual worldbuilding takes place.

I'll get a thread up and running by tomorrow with all the rules in place. For those that still want to join, I highly recommend that you talk with your companion in PM. As to who your companion will be, it can be a friend but world building with someone you haven't role played can lead to the creation of some very interesting worlds.

P.S. This roleplay is probably best played while drunk (for those over 21, no under-aged drinking!) or high (up in an airplane. ... Whaaat? You expect me to say weed?)

is there a character sheet i need to fill out?
Short answer, you don't need to.
Long answer, the focus is on world-building rather than character development. The character that represents you in the meta-world is primarily there to be your proxy (though, whether they're aware of that is up to you). If you really wanted to, you could make a fully fleshed-out character, but it's better to keep your representative character open-ended (even blank) so that you don't accidentally limit your thoughts to your character's thoughts. Though, I do admit that being a fantastical wizard that's looking into a magical mirror is fun at times. :')
