His most obvious feature is his height, but another thing people notice quickly is his crooked smile. The teasing way the smirk appears on his lips is somewhat distinguishing. Also, on his right forearm are some scars from a time when he accidentally spilled boiling oil while cooking for his mother.


Style


There isn't much to say about his style other than plain. When others would wear suits and ties whenever they leave the house, Valentino would wear a white t-shirt along with some dark-wash jeans. But this isn't out of laziness, no. He makes sure that the clothes he wears are fresh out of laundry and fit well. When the weather settles for the colder, Valentino may or may not put on a black leather jacker, or a down jacket if needed. No matter the season, he will always restrict himself to boots of all sorts. Mostly though, these boots are robust ones of darker color. All in all, he looks very much like an ordinary human being, just like the ones you spot on the streets.


But when formality is needed, Valentino knows how to dress up. Putting on a pair of black trousers and a white button-up shirt along with some dress shoes and perhaps a tie. His sleeves are almost always rolled up to his elbows, and his tie is often a little looser than it should be. Yet somehow it doesn't look messy, you could call it an organized mess.

Ambrosine is the direct product of two of the greatest businessmen in the European countries. After a very careful search for the perfect surrogate mother, a baby girl was delivered in the softest of silk blankets. She grew to be their greatest accomplishment with beauty, power, and a knack for manipulating people that's truly a bit scary. She had the best nannies to care for her, and was given anything she wanted. That's the probable cause for the way she acts now. At first her fathers feared that they'd been to easy on her, and it'd made her spoiled. However, then soon realized that their daughter was growing up to become a rather respected young lady in society. Despite her partying, they supported her in everything she did. When she met Faye, her life felt complete. The two girls became inseparable from the moment they first met. She's the only one who's ever seen Rosie at her lowest, and you'd better bet that they go everywhere together.

On December 3rd, Jackie was born to Maxwell Hastings, CEO of several businesses, and Annabeth, birth-giver of three; mother to none. Her parents have been divorced since she was seven and still treat her, along with her siblings, more like pawns in their game than anything else. When she was twelve, one of her mother's many lovers wandered into her room one night and stole her innocence. She hasn't been the same since. Her mother then lost all rights to see her which left her with just a father. One could tell that Oliver was different from the rest of the trust fund babies from miles away. Oliver is the child of a single mother, who had him at the age of seventeen. She had suffered a tragic error in her young life, and now had to deal with the consequences. It was hard for both of them, his mother belonged to a pristine family that cared about nothing but what society had to say. For his mother, that meant no money, and an exit from all social life in England. It was too painful to try and raise her baby with judging eyes everywhere, so she took him to a place no one knew who they were. Eventually, the two ended up in California, the place where your fate was up to chance. His mother married a rather nice lawyer, and that was that. He never really cared much for the male, and grew up basing himself of the mistakes others made. His father used all his connections to get him into the most pristine school that the United States could offer. Of course, since then he's only wanted to blow his brains out at how many times people have forgotten who he was, and all the people who've told him he was at the wrong place, or referred to him as a valet even. Oliver could care less about who you are, or who you wear.


As anyone from his standing would, Oliver has had a rough time adjusting to a place where people judge you based on how expensive your undergarments are. It's especially been hard to make friends with such stuck up people so he's kept to himself for most of the time, and just prevailed in his own way. Sports are what really make Oliver forget his boundaries, as money doesn't matter on the field. He's one of the best Lacrosse players at the Academy.

Born in Denmark to Victor and Clara Nielsen, Lucas was promised a comfortable future. His father had was wealthy man working in the fuel trading industry, and he often traveled internationally for work. His mother eventually quit her job to stay home and take care of Lucas and his two older siblings- Emil and Nadia, since their income was more than enough even with only one parent working. Lucas’s father received a job transfer, and the family moved to the U.S. After living there for a couple years, his parents divorced. His mother took custody of the children, while his father went back to Denmark. Unfortunately, Lucas’s mother struggled to get a job and without much support from her ex-husband, the family fell from wealth into working-class status. The various financial struggles and familial conflicts were especially tough on Lucas’s mother, and he figured that it would be less burdensome on her if he did well in school. The young man’s hard work paid off, and after two years of public high school, he received an academic scholarship to attend Aster Academy.

- His sister, Nadia, has acute myeloid leukemia and is not expected to live longer than a year.

Lucas is like that person you’ve seen around a lot but don’t know who they are, so you ask their name but then forget as soon as you walk away. At school, he tries to fit in and is rather social (or at least wants to be), so he can often be found hanging around parties and events. However, his lack of wealth doesn’t earn him many friends and as a result, he tends to drift to the outskirts where he is little more than an observer of the world around him. Lucas has an easy-going personality and feels comfortable talking to people regardless of who they are. He’s a bit naiive and can be too trusting, which sometimes gets him involved with people and situations that he may be uncomfortable with.


After his first week at Aster Academy, Lucas had a feeling he would never belong. All he wanted was a way to lessen his mother’s stress and make her proud, and suddenly he was surrounded by designer handbags and fancy cars. Outside of school, Lucas places a lot of focus on his family. He spends a lot of time working in addition to studying so that he can help ease his poor mother’s mind even by a little. Lucas would do anything for his sister, and the two are very close. When he's not with his family or working/studying, Lucas can often be found around others because he is interested in the unique stories that each person has. Perhaps that’s why he took an interest in filmmaking- he likes to write about people and portray different aspects of human life. He’s a pretty down-to-earth guy- mild-mannered, patient, and friendly. Although he’s normally quite busy, he takes time to decompress and enjoy nature as well. Lucas has certainly done things he’s not proud of, but he’s done well to get himself back on track despite the temptations at Aster Academy. But it’s hard to live in a world without being a part of it… this year might truly put those good-boy traits to the test.

Clothing Style:


To be put shortly, Brooklyn wears what is now classified and labeled as "tom boy" clothes. You know, the typical t-shirts that are a little too short, the dark jeans or shorts that are a little too tight. She takes massive pride in her Converse collection, and would never be caught dead seen-- at least voluntarily and/or willingly--in "feminine" clothing, such as skirts, dresses or anything flat out pink. While she does personally loathe anything that looks girly, she does admire those who have a sense of fashion. Whether it's because she doesn't care how she looks, or she genuinely loves t-shirts and jeans, the world will never know. Until then, stay tuned for Brooklyn's white t-shirts, jean jackets and beat up sneakers.

The Past

Background:


Growing up in a trailer park had its ups and downs, but Brooklyn somehow got through it. She, of course, did have the help of her happily married parents along the way, even in between their three jobs. Because her mother was a waitress by day and bartender by night, and her father a carpenter by trade, Brooklyn rarely ever got to see both of her parents home for one meal. The family, though small and always struggling with bills, lead a relatively happy life for Brook. They did their best to make their baby girl comfortable in the world, even if it was slightly unorthodox. At fourteen years of age, Brook got her first part-time job. While it was partly done to appease her mother's complaints of the utility bills (hint at Brooklyn's unhealthy obsession with video games), she also got the job out of a sense of obligation. To say the least, the trailer in turn got quieter and quieter over the days, and Brooklyn came into less and less contact with her parents despite still living together. Between work and the bills, it became too much for her parents. At fifteen, they divorced. Her mother moved to L.A. to pursue her dream, leaving Brooklyn with her father. Their small, happy family became smaller.


Her father grew bitter after the divorce. They stopped talking altogether, leaving Brooklyn more alone than ever. On a whim to prove to her mother that she made a mistake leaving them, she applied for scholarship for the fancy private school they always scoffed at. She earned it, to say the least. She got in. Of course, while it was a marvelous achievement for a girl living in a trailer to make, Brooklyn wasn't fazed at all by the prestigious reputation of the school. She was still Brooklyn, and would remain Brooklyn, thank you very much.

Brooklyn has never been one for actively engaging with people; as it turns out, the world is filled with airheads like the snobs she goes to school with, so why bother wasting her valuable, precious time with pricks? Sarcastic to the core, Brook never wastes a good punchline, and has a knack for being quiet most of the time. While she isn't anywhere antisocial or depressed, she has her own turn of ups and downs, and really is just a girl looking for a few friends, and maybe even that special someone. Underneath the sarcasm and sass, she is just a down-to-earth kind of girl who loves making people smile whenever she has the chance. As far as fashion, Nicole’s style is often trendy and feminine. She likes wearing casual dresses and cute ensembles. She has a lot of variety in her wardrobe but prefers soft fabrics, lace, and pastel colors. She wears designer brands but isn't opposed to upper-tier department store clothing if it looks nice. Comfort is important to her, but that doesn't mean she'd ever go out in sweats unless they were fashionable. Nicole is quite fashion aware, but she knows her style and won't wear something she knows won't look good on her just because it's popular or has designer label.

Nicole comes from a perfect family with a large house and plenty of money to spare. She was the only child, and her parents run a successful real estate business. Nicole’s parents were happy to give her anything she wanted, except their time. They spent a large portion of her life away from home because work always came first for them. As a result, Nicole has never been very close with her parents. She could only seem to gain their attention when she acted out in school, so she started developing a rebellious streak. For example, she would purposely fail tests or misbehave –anything that would look bad for her family to the public eye- so that her parents would agree to give her what she wanted if she cleaned up her act, which of course, she did. Nicole and her parents still have a slightly strained relationship, but in the end they do want what’s best for her. Aster Academy was her parents’ choice, and she didn’t really have a say in whether or not she wanted to go. Nicole has always been quick to make friends and has always been in private schools, so she knew she would fit in without a problem. It’s just that sometimes she just wants to experience something other than California.

At first glance, Nicole is a composed, well-mannered girl often described as sweet and charming by adults. She is intelligent and gets high grades unless she is purposely slacking. She often goes out of her way to establish relationships with her teachers. Although this is partly for personal gain, she has a genuine interest in people and loves spending time with others. Nicole has always been extroverted and tries to surround herself with people. She can start a conversation with almost anyone, and she likes to laugh. She’s a social party girl but not really any more than the average Aster Academy student. Nicole can be manipulative and impulsive, and although she doesn’t normally intend to hurt others, she isn’t above getting involved in gossip and drama.


On the inside, Nicole is quite adventurous and likes change. She is ambitious and dreams of traveling the world, and she wants to be able to support others to follow their own dreams. Nicole is the type of person who would come over at 2am and offer her shoulder to cry on or drag someone out to a party to dance away their worries. She doesn’t always have to be center stage, but she hates being ignored, pushed aside, or replaced. She can be both overdramatic and jealous at times, often irritated when her friends and family can’t seem to make time for her. When she feels excluded, Nicole often resorts to “rebellious” activities -slacking in school, drinking, and partying- more than usual. There are times when she seems to lose control and falls to a low point. Nicole has episodic major depression and body image issues, but she isn’t very good at talking about her problems and prefers to ignore stress instead of asking for help.
