"Steel screams out in the night; I hear its voice even through the haze of dreams. It begs, constantly begs, to be used, to be shaped, to be made into something greater than itself. Dare I answer it? Dare I fulfill its wishes? Dare I take up my hammers and tongs and bellows, and mold the steel into strange new shapes?
Yes. I dare.
I will answer the call of the steel in the night, and the steel will bless me and my hands.
"
-- The New Foundry's Prayer, 2372 AD

so then the whole evil magic and necromancy can the adventures use it?
If you're of the morbidly curious variety, allied with the Dungeoneers, or a Tsai-Malloc, then yes, you can use the dark and forbidden magics.

And after magic lore will come race lore, detailing important stuff about the four playable races: Man, Machine, N'dulla, and Tsai-Malloc. And after that, faction lore.
I think you're all gonna like it, once it's all complete.

Magic lore is up, everyone. Keep in mind that the abilities listed in each variety of magic are just a few examples of how they can be used; there are many more that you can run by me when making your characters.

oh man, this is just too perfect to make an Alexander Anderson reference charactdr
Marvelous set of magic.
Heh. Get it? Marvelous.

I'm going to participate in this but I'm going to make sure to read as much of the lore as I can before I talk much, so that might take a bit.

so is the magic cast by runes chants or what?
Ah, yes. Forgot about that.
Runes are what imbue people or things with magic, and repeated runes associated with a certain type of magic bind people or things to that type of magic. Carve runes on a thing with the runes for de-Yatta Man'hwe as the center focus, and boom, your thing can now do what the runes you carved say. Tattoo runes on yourself with the runes for de-Mutte Man'hwe as the center focus, bada bing bada bam, you now have the abilities that your rune tattoos describe.
Specificity is key in using runes. You have to detail exactly what you want the magic to do. Does that make sense?

I'm going to participate in this but I'm going to make sure to read as much of the lore as I can before I talk much, so that might take a bit.
Take your time; there's no rush. More lore will be released some time tomorrow.

Race lore is finished and up, folks. And with that, I think it's time to make a character sheet. I'll keep you posted.
