Thousands of years ago, the Demon God, Ithreal challenged his brothers and sisters for power. Bound by unbreakable oaths, the Gods slowly succumbed to Ithreal's power, for with each slain God, his power grew. The Goddess queen, Seraphina, had quietly plotted for Ithreal's power campaign in hopes of killing him and stealing his power for herself. However, too many Gods were absorbed and Ithreal became Seraphina's equal in power. Ithreal challenged Seraphina by launching his forces against her creations, the humans. In response, Seraphina created the Hunters, humans blessed with magic capable of controlling the 5 elements of nature. A terrible war raged across the worlds of existence, eventually resulting in the Hunters retreating to Earth and creating a barrier to protect them from Ithreal's wrath.
Ithreal himself attempted to break the barrier, but in doing so, he broke one of the most sacred oaths of Godhood. The remaining Gods came together and imprisoned Ithreal in one of his own unfinished worlds, destined to remain thus for eternity. Then thousands of years later, events took place that led a exiled Hunter with no magical power at all meet several people of pivotal importance. They would all travel a path that led to the destruction of the barrier protecting earth, the exiled Hunter gaining the magic he had never had and the beginning of the end where Ithreal himself was freed of his prison. Over many battles, incredible pain and loss, the Hunter completed the ancient Protector's Rite, thus making him a Demigod and the only thing able to fight against Ithreal.
Ithreal nearly laid waste to everything, but through the truest level of strength, resilience and emotion, the Hunter and his allies pushed Ithreal back, weakening him and ensuring that never again could he rise to threaten creation. Life returned to normal. The Hunter, now an eternal being watched as the world slowly changed around him over decades. Then one day the winds of fate once again began to stir. A young human finds him/herself thrust into the world of magic. Devoid of any lineage or blessing, the human is a powerful spellcaster and he/she begins to draw the attention and dangers of the magical world. Unbeknownst her/him, she/he is a God Seed. A being with the innate ability to become a true God, the very first to be seen in tens of thousands of years.
Now the Hunter must protect this budding Godling from all manner of creatures that want to steal her/his power and make it their own. What does fate have in store for the two as dark clouds begin to form on the horizon. A new threat will soon emerge, one that can easily contend with Ithreal himself. Will the Godling and Hunter survive long enough for him/her to awaken their true power? Will this new God become a force of good or evil? Every action will impact the fate of all worlds, and the price of those actions will seem impossible to pay. But if the worlds are to survive, our characters must succeed in their quest. If they fail, the life of every human, demon (every race not human), and God will be forfeit.
