Should Kings and Leaders of nations be Playable characters?​

The leaders in this setting have alot to deal with but dont really have much mobility in story, it wouldnt do to have a king struck down while adventuring. Doing this will divide the story into two halves, the Royal courts, and the Adventurers journey. So i ask thee Yea or Nea.

I can relate with that for sure. No rush, its just to help pass time whilst i slowly churn out the world.

Alright so it’s really late for me but I wanted to put my character ideas while they’re fresh on the mind before I head to sleep.

My first character is an unarmed combat specialized berserker obsessed with the dream of obtaining what he sees as true freedom by becoming the strongest man alive. Sort of between Kordov and Theanos for where he’s from since I think they could both form that type of mindset.

Second one is a Druid/witch from the swamps of Kareen with a specialty with Life and Body magic that allows shapeshifting into beasts, specifically dinosaurs if that’s allowed since they seem relatively present in the setting and dinosaurs are cool to me. Her whole deal would be traveling to figure out why the land is hurting since she feels it along with the dream messages. I also thought it’d be neat if her strong connection to nature magic centered around the bog turned her skin green.

If either of these ideas don’t work altogether or need changing that’s fine by me. They’re just two character concepts that initially interested me and I wanted to share them.

The first i would suggest Kordov if you want him to be more independent, or Theanos if you want a kind of early alliance with Agni. Though if we are being honest Kordov works best given the intro i have planned. It will make more sense given time but the further the characters are from one another at the start the more the prophetic dreams will make sense.

Love me some bog witch energy, and a dino shifter makes sense given their heavy presence in the kareenay jungle…that said even a druid would not go too far beyond the borders of that place. If you’d like to put her on the absolute edge of the allowable staring point she could served as a kind of warning to brave adventurers. “Beyond here is a land that is claimed by thuell herself, if you go you will not return.”

I think I have decided on Kordov for the berserker since I think that is more fitting for the general attitude I want him to have.

As far as where the witch is so long as the outskirts are wild enough to keep the swamp person vibe her not being way too far in the jungle works for me.

Well initially i had intended for the first 30-60 miles of jungle be well mapped, with the deeper parts having craploads of giant beasts and predatory plants, strangely there seems to be a good deal of undead as well, of all varieties. But overall the Jungle is reminiscent of a cross between the florida everglades and the Amazon rainforest.

Okay she could be in the mapped area as long as at least some parts of it are still wild. I did imagine that explorers and people who live nearby would at the very least be aware of a slightly feral witch in the swamp who can be helpful if approached the right way so it’d make sense for that if she wasn’t way too far in the unknown part of the jungle.

Yeah definitely. the furthest point could be a good three days travel from the nearest city, which would likely be Kar-Tsunda as its about 64 miles from the jungles southwestern edge. Sufficient for rumors to spread but allow enough vague wiggle room for whatever you may want to keep hidden
