Gladiator - Wikipedia
Gladiatorial combat in ancient Rome was most popular between the 1st century BC and the 2nd century AD. The games were a major part of Roman life and politics, and were held in large arenas across the empire.
46 BCE: Julius Caesar held the first gladiatorial games that were not held to commemorate a death.
1st century BC: Government officials began hosting state-funded games to gain favor with the public.
This is the story of a slave gladiator and a Roman noblewoman. I plan to run the slave. I am lookingg for someone to run the noblewoman. This RP is inspired just a little by the TV series, Spartacus. It should be noted that the TV series was a historical fiction. As such it took a number of liberties. I do not plan to disillusion anyone. (But for the record, a slave had to be accused of some very serious crimes to be sentenced to the arena.)
Your Character
The Noblewoman is the sister of the noble who owns the slave. He owns a number of slaves, in fact.
My Character
A barbarian giant standing about 6 and a half feet tall. Caucasian, jet black hair, radiant blue eyes. His skin was utterly unblemished by scars. He was captured near Ephasus (a city state about where Izmir is today). He was believed to be Thracian. However, he doesn’t seem to know their language. He barely understood Latin, but learned basic commands very fast. He was thus deemed trainable. He was eventually taken to Rome and sold as a gladiator.
His new owner was told that this slave was utterly unbeatable in Ephesus. He has no name. For now he has been called Fortis which means Strong One. He is said to fight with the strength of a demigod.
