  Personality​

  Draven is a a 4th year student with surprisingly excellent credentials. One would not suspect that a rowdy boy would be exceptional. On the outside, Draven is quite the jokester, with a prideful personality. He tends to act as a delinquent which every girl so drools to be around or every guy dreams to be as lax as him, but on the inside, he's much like a "big brother" kind of person. He has no trouble in tutoring those who need help while also doing his own work.
  
  He's keen on his instincts and his reflexes are considered to be an impressive skill. He has trouble containing his dark-type tendencies which get him into trouble, such as causing a commotion or excited in a fight which is a recipe for disaster when he's also a fire-type. Luckily, his tough love experiences has enabled him to contain his abilities from such problems. Daven may be bold at first, but he's an oddly likeable person. Whether he's loved or hated, he has an ability to befriend the person he makes contact. His kindness knows no bounds and when a friend is in need, he'll back them up however he can.
  
  A quirky trait from the Gijinka, is once he owes someone, he will take their favor or promise seriously. His past has compelled him take up this habit that no one really knows why he forces himself to do it, but he can never be talked out of it, no matter the person or ridiculous favor.
  

  
  Background​

  Draven came from a broken home and joined a group coming up. Their cause was a noble one with ambitious and kind Gijinkas. It wasn't just a rebellion against society, it was a place to call family. Everything was going smoothly until his 2nd year in the academy. His mother grew worried, his own school did as well for his criminal advances with the group. Draven defended the group saying "they were doing more than a stupid school." Little did he know was that the world turned upside down that very same evening.
  
  The leader had given his position to someone else with different ideals that made no sense. His crew had fully given their souls to a stranger who was immoral. Draven witnessed horrors in a laboratory that was beyond what he had joined. He did his best to sabotage and free any hostages, and in doing so was punished. His life in danger with no help until his schoolmates came to his assistance and rescued him from his fate. He was taken to a hospital and interrogated. He paid for his crime and was thankful to the school. Since then, he's owed the academy a great deal and turned around. It's taken him months to recover, but it was well worth it.

  Bernice is a tough, competitive Gijinka with a passion to become the number one fighter. Unlike most Buneary's or Lopunny's she does not conform to be lady-like. That isn't to say she won't wear a dress and enjoy girly trinkets, she just doesn't always want to be the type of girl that is meant to be pretty and marry a wealthy man or work as a model. She likes to prove her family wrong and go against the grain. She doesn't shy away from a challenge. In battle, she isn't as great as she claims to be and struggles to maintain her powers. She is often a clutz, to her dismay, and hates being a damsel in distress.
  
  On the inside, Bernice is gentle and corny. She's sweet and still has a shy side to her like most Lopunny's. She as ashamed to admit when it's evident. She has a hard time making friends, but wouldn't dare to change the flame in her heart to be the best fighter.
  

  
  Background​

  Bernice was raised in a happy household. The only downside was the gender contradiction. Her family have high expectations such as being perfect at everything. As a child, she was constantly doing something, joining clubs and forced to be a perfectionist. She accumulated skills on playing instruments, dancing, singing, civil sports such as fencing. All of them made Bernice miserable. She never had time to make friends of her own, choose her own clothes or even choose her own lifestyle. It was obvious what they required of her and decided to go against the grain. She had no idea how riveting it was to have free will until she saw a pokemon match.
  
  The glory, the adrenaline and suspense had her tempted to try out. On the first day of junior high, she challenged a kid and won. The feeling of being in a battle excited her and she did it without any approval. She needed more challenges without disruption, but where? It dawned on her, high school would allow her to use her abilities however she wanted. Hopefully, one day she can convince her parents of her greatness without going their route.

Calm, collected, calculating, and highly intelligent, it takes an awful lot to get Alistair angry, even when he is faced with his type's weaknesses. He dislikes combat unless it is absolutely necessary, but when he is put on the spot, he will fight to the bitter end with nary a change in expression. Alistair may look down upon others, especially the 'jocks' of the Academy, but seeks to protect those he cares about.

Background
Originally an Espurr Gijinka at a young age, it was not long before Alistair showed himself to be quite the gifted young man in terms of academics. He scored incredibly high marks in every lesson, as did the rest of his fellow Psychic-types. Alistair's high intelligence led him to become the undisputed champion of the Academy's Chess Team, and he currently serves as its Captain. Many have tried to best him on the black-and-white board, but only a few have ever come close.

Background: Lived with his crappy parents in the rough part of town. Kiba hated them with a passion for many reasons and decided to live his life on the streets. Of course, doing so, he was introduced to the wrong people and eventually joined a gang of ghost, dark, poison gijinkas. The rag tag gang caused trouble wherever they went. Stealing, fighting, all of it. Kiba and the others then ran into Xeno, who had threaten their lives. Thankfully, Kiba manged to save their lives by agreeing to work for them as a spy

Personality: Kitsune is mischievous and full of himself. He has high goals and equally impressive expectations of himself, constantly comparing himself to the third and fourth years. He competes to be the best in athletics and combat, however his academics leave something to be desired. Many of the teachers get onto him for being lazy and not applying himself, but he is simply unmotivated to do anything but train. He is personable and makes friends quickly despite his penchant for putting his foot in his mouth. His ego can sometimes get in the way of making connections but his confidence can also be infectious to those with the same energy.

Background: A son of a business man and a politician, Kitsune has been groomed for excellence his entire life. All his proper etiquette and quiet demeaner went out the window with the winds of puberty, and he became a loud rebellious teenager. A bit self conscious about inheriting his father's fire type instead of his mother's arguably stronger ice type like his older sister, this insecurity has helped push him to compete with all of his peers to prove himself. His only aspiration is to be considered by all around him as "psuedo-legendary."

Personality: Flirtatious, kindhearted, empathetic, and fiercely driven to protect all that she loves. Aisu can be a tad airheaded, but this is not to be taken for stupidity. She is at the top of her class in athletics and academics, however would never mention either unprompted. The grace and demeaner that are required of a good class president. (If this role is taken let me know and I shall edit but I didn't notice if it was.)

Background: Aisu has always been very close with her family, but being the first born she feels has stunted her relationship with them to an extent. Her younger brother whom she has adored every day since he was born is only concerned with besting her in combat and proving himself, meanwhile she only wishes they could be inseparable as they once were. Her mother's political connections have roped her into something she never could have predicted before this year. All semester she has been spying and reporting on several details of her schooling to her mother, and not entirely inconsequential information either. Past students training records, teacher habits and functions, as well as the abilities of most of her classmates. She feels very guilty doing these things, but her mother keeps her under thumb by going on constantly about the "Family honor." Though Aisu sees no honor in spying for her mothers dodgy benefactors.

She is kind of a sweet-talker and more than often knows to get her way or convince someone to do something with some honeyed words. She always seems to be smiling and it will take a lot to let her drop the smile, even when she is angry or sad she is smiling which does make it a bit uncanny when she speaks words of a different emotion than the smile would suggest. Due to her high energy personality, she can be a bit tiresome to be around, or it is just the fact that she passively feeds off of the life energy of the people around her.

Damien tends to push just about everyone he meets away and rarely ever attends classes unless he absolutely must, but this is really because he's in a constant state of conflict with himself-- or more specifically, his Midnight Lycanroc half and its tendency to cause him to instigate fights more easily than he actually wants, and he will get unbelievably defensive to the point of outright aggression if anyone directly mentions that to him. Even with his self-imposed "lone wolf" nature, Damien still has one secret friend to his name, and that would be Alistair. But, if someone else is capable of chipping through his heart's rock-hard exterior, there's a soft layer underneath.

Background
Formerly a particularly bashful, quiet, and playful Rockruff Gijinka, the inevitable behavioral changes that Rockruffs typically experienced when nearing evolution (as well as a particular mishap involving a certain medication) resulted in a complete change in Damien's personality that struck fear in his fellow students, and the copious amounts of therapy he was subjected to outside of the Academy's campus did very little to fix much of anything. Instead, Damien personally opted to work as hard as he physically could to isolate himself from the rest of his peers like how a werewolf would chain themselves up out of fear of hurting anyone once they transformed, causing rumors that he became a delinquent who seemed to have completely stopped caring about learning to spread like wildfire. However, it was when a Meowstic Gijinka named Alistair happened to come across him that he learned of Damien's plight, and showing no fear of the Lycanroc Gijinka's strength, teeth, and claws, he offered to secretly help by bringing him highly-detailed notes from class so he wouldn't fall behind, and promised not to tell anyone about Damien's true intentions in return so as to respectfully allow the Lycanroc Gijinka to deal with his problems his own way, as Damien had confessed to him that having staff members step in would only cause more drama for him than was necessary. Of course, the fact that a student who was only really ever in class for exams was in their 4th year of school did more than befuddle the students and staff of the Academy, but it was Alistair and Damien's little secret.

Airin has a sweet demeanor and looks like your typical quiet girl archetype. However, it's actually because she was born mute but still can hear everything audible for a normal person. She always carries a pen and a notebook everywhere in case her main methods of "speaking up" (via gestures and sign language) don't work. She loathes discrimination, especially toward people with disabilities to the point that she would unwittingly shame the offender sometimes.

Airin tends to poke people (teachers and students alike) when she needs to talk to them. May sound rude, but that's literally the only way she can get their attention.

Airin has been a mute girl since birth. Despite her paternal grandparents' order to abandon her because she "brought dishonor upon the family", her parents decided to raise her anyway. Thanks to her upbringing and her "sweet child" attitude, she unknowingly shamed her grandparents for their discriminatory attitudes in a family gathering. Somehow.

Back at home, Airin had/has two best friends: Brenna the Primarina girl (recently graduated from Gijinka Academy) and Pepe the shiny Sylveon boy (a third year student in the academy). Having been besties since childhood, their friendship went on and on as the three grew up. This made Airin feel somewhat lonely when Pepe entered the Gijinka Academy with Brenna already in there.

As for archery, it has been more than a mere sport for her family of Rowlet line gijinka -- it's basically a part of their tradition. This is why Airin owns a brown bow and a quiver of matching arrows despite being a Dartrix gijinka. She will need good archery skills for when she evolves, after all.

  An avid battler with the instinct to back it up, Lux despite his ever growing battle potential isn't the type that will just dive in at the deep end without a plan; hoping that his guts and determination would prevail in the end. Confident yet not arrogant, Lux does know what his physical limitations are and will scarcely attempt to overcome them outside of training. Disciplined, he will without a doubt dutifully accomplish what is required within his own capabilities as well as strive to achieve the best possible outcome for himself and his team. A sign of his maturity despite his age, Lux knows how to read the situation and knows when he needs to be serious and mature as well as when the opportunity allows for him to 'relax'.
  
  Perhaps a trait from his father's side of the family, Lux possesses a 'never-say-die' attitude to spit in the face of adversity regardless of how high a mountain there is to climb. When push comes to the shove, he is the reliable type that you can count on to pull through when trapped in a corner. That being said, he is not the type of person who would willingly search for trouble, rather he appears to be the type who seems to often be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Truthfully, Lux despite his keen battle instinct is quite the chilled and laidback individual. He'd much rather laze off in a field somewhere than battle, though even his penchant for sloth has managed to somehow get him into trouble. A well known species trait of Luxray's are their 'Vision'. Stated to possess X-Ray vision, since entering his 3rd stage it has become increasingly frequent for Lux to be accused of using this to his advantage, these claims often times supported by the fact that it normally uses up a lot of energy and Lux seems to be dozing off quite frequently. It did not help that he was falsely accused of an immoral act involving the changing rooms which resulted in him being suspended unjustly.
  
  Having garnered unwarranted suspicion for his species trait, it is not uncommon to find Lux alone somewhere due to the stigma. Since becoming a Luxray, Lux's personality has taken quite the drastic change and he has become increasingly more aloof and reclusive, more so since returning from being suspended. Someone who was once 'one of the guys' with his childhood friends has now become a target of suspicion and unfair criticism, all unwarranted yet increasingly more common as the days go by. Lux truly does not want to cause trouble for others and because of this he has increasingly begun to isolate himself from others, the pain of hearing them accuse him of things he did not do being all the more harder to bare. From being the boy that was ridiculed to being the boy that is largely avoided, it is no wonder that he has increasingly closed himself away. Though despite often being on the receiving end of false accusations, Lux is in truth rather gregarious and easy to get along with, enjoying the occasional get together at the local diners as well as a weekend spent among friends and family.
  
  A negative habit of his is that, Lux does tend to try and play the façade that everything is okay, putting on a happy and friendly appearance when in public yet in reality he could be feeling quite the opposite, in this regard he could best be described as a coin; having two completely different sides to himself. For the most part he likes to play the fool, make jokes, be the butt of jokes and even tease the girl he fancies. While he is the type who would keep your secret to the grave and have your back in a life or death situation, he is also the type who would sell you out for a quick joke and a few laughs. Gregarious by nature, a trait he most likely inherited from his parents, Lux relishes being in a high-spirited social gathering. While his contribution to the gathering may in fact be minuscule if not non-existent, he simply enjoys the warmth and company provided by those he cherishes.
  
  The fact that he has to wear a 'mask' and play the façade also means that he is the type who keeps his negative feelings bottled up. Not really one to talk to others about his problems, he lets the negative emotions fester and swell within himself, thus he will sometimes explode and be overly angry about the smallest of matters. During these situations of frustration and stress, he tends to seclude himself from the outside world, choosing to drown himself in loud music so as to ignore everyone else, or simply isolating himself from others.
  
  He doesn't find it too difficult to make new friends, however he isn't going to over exert himself to befriend someone whose personality clashes with his. If overtime, those clashing personalities do relent and they can come to an understanding, he is more then willing to let bygones be bygones. He would prefer to have more friends than enemies thus he tries his best at finding a common ground between himself and another and use that as a foundation to grow the relationship. Should a falling out occur and Lux strongly feels that he is in the right, he can hold a grudge for several days and give the cold shoulder but will usually crumble afterwards and apologise for being an idiot.​

  His mother a Luxray gijinka and his father a Jolteon gijinka, Lux has inherited traits of both parents, most notably being the same species as his mother. From an early age as a Shinx, Lux has been overly protected by both parents, especially his mother who rarely ever let him out of her sight; largely thanks to her X-ray vision. With a youthful and reckless attitude stemming from his Jolteon lineage, it was often times quite hard for Lux to contain himself and thus he'd more often than not find himself getting into trouble whenever one of his shenanigans was caught by his eagle eyed mother.
  
  A bundle of energy, Lux for many years struggled with controlling his electrical impulses and would quite frequently have his tail 'light-up' as a result of being unable to control his excitement. Of course, this meant that he was never ever any good at games like hide and seek as his bright tail would expose him to whomever it was that was searching for him. Things didn't get much better for him when he transitioned into his luxio stage, the youthful energy that he had in spades now becoming more rebellious and trouble causing.
  
  The typical boy with too much energy to spare, he often times found it very difficult to reign in his emotions as a Luxio and could quite often be found causing some kind of problem by letting his stored up electricity run wild. It didn't help that he inherited his father's fiery jolteon temper either. Seen as an easy target to pick on by others thanks to his almost constantly lit up tail, Lux would lose his cool and lash out towards those that ridiculed him for it. Yet more often then not it was more 'banter' than anything serious.
  
  Now a Luxray, Lux's personality has taken a drastic shift and he is no longer the energetic troublemaker that he once was. Finally getting better control over his electricity, Lux no longer suffered from the humiliation of being unable to 'turn his tail off'. That being said, his evolution into this final stage has brought him something that he never expected and that was a new found feeling of loneliness. Due to the stigma that many have regarding Luxray's ability of X-ray vision, it became quite common for his friends to begin avoiding him, fearing that they'd be unable to hide stuff from his eyes. Once the easy target in games like Hide-N-Seek, it soon became apparent that nobody wanted to play with him due to his obvious advantage.
  
  Once the bright spark of energy that was unwillingly the center of attention, Lux has become more aloof and 'to-himself'. Trust is not an issue on his part, yet those willing to trust him now that he is a Luxray has become quite hard to find.

A happy-go-lucky guy who won't hesitate to come to others' aid. That's the kind of guy Pepe is. He doesn't mind helping people unless it's for something beyond his abilities and/or conflicting with his beliefs. That, combined with his good looks and extra patience, made Pepe an unwitting chick magnet despite his sexuality.

Like Airin, Pepe also loathes discrimination, especially toward people with disabilities. He tends to show compassion to them as shown from his friendship with Airin. This is why he had learned everything the disabled folks have been using to communicate: braille, sign language, etc. Also, fun fact: Airin was the one who taught him sign language in the first place.

Back at home, Pepe had/has two best friends: Brenna the Primarina girl (recently graduated from Gijinka Academy) and Airin the Dartrix girl (recently entered the academy as a first year student). Airin's predicaments had spurred both him and Brenna to learn sign language so that they both can understand her. Their friendship went on and on as the three grew up to the point that Airin felt somewhat lonely when Pepe entered the Gijinka Academy with Brenna already in there.

During their studies in the academy, Pepe and Brenna dedicated themselves to help students with disabilities for their studies and other academic stuffs. This year however, Pepe had to do it alone as Brenna had already graduated. He couldn't contain his excitement upon hearing that one of the new kids has a disability, but little did he know that it turned out to be Airin, of all people.

A third-year student at the Gijinka Academy. Contrary to what might be expected from his curious and inquisitive disposition, Micah struggles with (book) learning due to his minimal attention span. He relies heavily on his Pokémon instincts to pick up after his more human intelligence drops the ball. Due to this (over-)reliance on instincts, Micah is known to reject some common ‘luxuries’ such as beds. Instead preferring to strip them of their sheets and pillows so he may use them to build a den underneath the frame.

When people meet Micah for the first time, they might find themselves confused by the way he approaches them. In addition to his excitable and overly friendly disposition, Micah also has little to no understanding of personal space. Going as far as approaching total strangers like they were long-lost friends. As such, he has gotten himself into a fair amount of fights with those less open to such a touchy introduction. Luckily, Micah’s Pokémon instincts are more than enough to come out on top in a simple brawl. The same cannot be said when pitted against more tactical opponents.

Being an ivysaur Gijinka, one may wonder where his flower bulb is. It is actually at the small of his neck, right above where his scarf rests so it can get plenty of light. Further down underneath his shirt, in between his shoulder blades are two small green nubs. With focus, he can extend his vines from these nubs and use them like extra limbs, though he never learned the technique to use them as attacks.

Personality: Kind and non confrontational. Max has always preferred that everyone get along and talk things out, have a good chat, and a nap. He is laid back and happy to let someone else take the reins of life. He loves the outdoors and any spot in the sunlight is always a plus for him (partially because he needs it to survive).

Background: Max was actually born into a professional competitive family, both in show and combat. He was taught to move with flair and to fight with his own body, things he moved away from once he was accepted into the school. It was actually something his family disagreed with. They wanted him to be trained by them and no one else, how else would have both the technique to defend himself and to show off when needed? But he chose a different path, one of non violence and pleasantness all around.

Sunny Day: Doesn't really change the weather, but makes the local area bright and sunny for him.
Petal Dance: Who doesn't love a good dance in flower petals. If he focused, he could actually do damage with this, but otherwise it is a beautiful show, though it tends to make him dizzy.
Solar Beam: The only other "attack" he knows, one he hasn't quite found a use for that wouldn't involve hurting someone. Fun to shoot off though when no on is around.

  Edward comes across as a highly privileged and pampered boy who has only ever experienced the privileged life; an upbringing where he did not have to worry about not getting what he wanted. Born into an insane amount of wealth, Edward V. Furfrountz has grown up only knowing the 'best things in life' and is thus quite ignorant of how the 'middle' class society lives. Edward can't comprehend their daily problems nor how they go about solving it when money is quite obviously the answer to everything.
  
  Growing up in a high class household, Edward holds himself with high regard due to his pedigree and will often times disregard those that do not meet the standards that he has come to believe is the norm. Snobbish and spoilt, Edward firmly believes that money is what determines ones rank in society and that the more wealth one possesses, the stronger and higher up the food chain they are naturally meant to be in. Those that do not meet such requirements are therefore meant to serve those that do; the natural order of things.
  
  Pampered by his older siblings and brothers, Edward is without doubt the most spoilt member of the family, having been given an abundance of clothes, toys and whatever else his eyes had fallen upon. He understands very little of the value of money and where it comes from and how its often a cause for issues for the middle and low class. As far as he is concerned, money just seems to always be there for him, as if a bottomless pot of gold is hidden somewhere within one of the Furfrountz many houses. What he wants, he gets. What he doesn't want, he also gets.
  
  Arrogant due to his blessed position in life, he has grown very used to ordering people around; having grown up around the family attendants for his whole life. He is used to getting what he wants and having others do everything else for him, cook, clean, make his bed. These are simply the chores for those that are beneath his position and that they should be happy they get paid to do it.
  
  Temperamental and hot blooded, Edward cannot stand being made fun of, especially by those whose family are not from noble backgrounds. Edward is confident in his strength having never loss a fight against his attendants or their children. He has been sold the belief that he is a naturally gifted fighter and athlete when in fact that is not the case. Because of his attendants and their kids losing on purpose, he has developed a predisposition of believing that it is only natural that he is stronger and should win and thus can become quite the sore loser when he is proven wrong, so much so that his anger will get the better of him; alas this often just ends up being a temper tantrum if anything else.
  
  As a result of his pampered and somewhat sheltered life within the Furfrountz estate, Edward is severely naive as to how the world actually works. Everything outside of his high society surroundings is a brand new experience for him and despite his attempts to feign a lack of interest, he simply cannot hide his true emotions as his tail unconsciously wags on its own. The mere idea that people actually drive their own cars rather then paying someone to do it, was quite the shock for Edward as well as realising that not everybody owns their own plane or yacht.
  
  Edward is also clueless to how true bonds are formed between people. Having grown up mostly around attendants and their children, Edward's bonds are quite flimsy and one-sided. Despite his attitude and elitist snobby persona, Edward does realise that these attendants and their children are merely doing their jobs and roles and that whatever they say to him does not exactly mean its true. He understands that if they did harbour ill towards him, they'd be risking their livelihood and jobs, thus they may not always show their true emotions around him.
  
  That being said, he doesn't actually know how to make friends beyond acquiring them through monetary transactions. His belief that money does solve everything means that he has no 'qualms' with buying friends, showering them with his generosity and wealth by buying them gifts and the like, so that they'd hang out with him. As long as he has the money and wealth to pay for friends, he feels like he won't have anything to worry about. The world revolves around the rich and everyone else should be happy that they get to live here with them.​

  Born into the famous Furfrountz family, Edward was thrust into a blessed life of wealth and luxury, a world where whatever he wanted would soon become his. The 5th child of the family, Edward is quite easily considered the 'baby' of the household, having a solid 9 year age gap between him and the next youngest child. With his elder sisters and brother being quite the bit older than him, it's no wonder that he was pampered and spoilt from a very early age, his vastly older siblings being more than happy to indulge him. It also did not help that the family had an expansive labor force of attendants who would also cater to his daily needs.
  
  Spoilt, pampered and somewhat sheltered from the outside world, Edward has grown up only knowing the life of the rich and famous; having only ever attended high society gatherings with the family and being exposed to the glitz and glamour that his families wealth attracts. With his elder brothers; the 1st and 2nd eldest children already heavily integrated into the family business, Edward spent most of his childhood either around his sisters or with his attendants and their children; who often lived in one of the staff houses on the estate property. However in recent years his interactions have been more with the staff and their children due to his sisters ever growing socialite statuses.
  
  Whilst Edward has mingled with the attendants kids, it is quite accurate to say that his interactions have been largely facades and unnatural. Due to his status as the son of the Furfrountz family, it was expected that the attendants and their kids treat Edward with the utmost respect, thus it was only natural of them to bite their tongues and appease to Edward, letting the pampered prince win and get his way every time. Due to this, Edward has come to believe that he is a natural athlete and winner and this has only boosted his ego and disillusion with the real world.
  
  The 3rd son and the youngest in the family, Edward is far down the pecking order when it comes to taking over the family business. His elder brothers are already key influential members of the business, with his eldest brother an almost guarantee to overtake his father's responsibilities as the head and face of the company once he decides to retire, whilst his 2nd eldest already oversees the hospitality branch of their company, aiding their mother in her endeavours of expanding their hotels into other regions. His eldest sister has a booming fashion company that has already experienced profits within the 1st year of opening, whilst his 2nd eldest sister is nothing short of being a celebrity. A part-time model and actor, she often leads the runway whenever a new fashion line is being debuted.
  
  With his older siblings starting or already deep into their career's, his father had sought to help Edward out by enrolling him into a public academy rather then having him privately tutored like his elder siblings were. With the staff children also attending school, his father had become increasingly concerned that Edward would be unable to develop the social skills that he would need in adulthood if he too was to become successful, thus once the opportunity arose he had enrolled Edward into the academy, hoping to not only quell his son's growing disillusion with the real world, but to also help him attain and develop the skills he would need to survive in the real world.
