Kira paces back and forth in her cell, pulling at the shock collar around her neck but it didn't budge, it never did. It adjusted size to whatever she was, she was never able to break or shrink out it, it just changed with her. She sighs and closes her eyes for a brief moment. If only she hadn't been so naive those 5 years ago. She could remember the news program when she was 7, the government declaring anyone with oddities to be considered a mutant and lower forms of life, who's abilities were meant to be put to use one way or another, hard labor, becoming the help, the cook, the well anything anyone wished. Her parents tried to hide her ability away but she never did understand why being what she mutant as she was often called was so bad. Her parents warned her to never change, ever, not even in the privacy of her own room, to be as normal as possible and pretend what she could do didn't exist, so she wasn't very good at her ability until she was forced to use it for "work". She ended up in this place walking home one evening from the store, a group of guys had cornered her in an alley and she shifted into a jaguar to defend herself, which worked but little did she know it had all been a set up. After shifting back a man approached her, saying he had a place for people like her, where they would be safe and able to be themselves. It was nothing but a lie and she was foolish enough to go with him. After several maulings and injuries she had the collar she was currently wearing fashioned, the only thing that kept her in check. And now for the past five years she lives in a cell with other mutants, hired out on various jobs. Usually to be some stupid side-show people hired for entertainment, forced to change into whatever animal they willed, or sometimes just one for the person who hired her to impress their friends with some "exotic" pet. At the place she was currently staying at she was made to do the cleaning or cooking when she wasn't on a job.
She opens her eyes at hearing the door to the basement open as someone makes their way down. She glares at seeing the man who "owned" her, Damien, stop in front of her cage. Thinking she was to be let out to do her usual chores she blinks in surprise when he sends someone in to lead her elsewhere. "Get her cleaned up and wearing something decent." She just huffs and follows the girl he was commanding after getting pushed out of the cell thinking she was to go on another job.
"It'll be a relief to get rid of you and your sharp tongue. You'd think you would have learned by now, I bet your neck is nothing but fried skin under that collar" Damien smirks. "I've had enough of you and your temperamental ways. You're not making me nearly enough money for it to be worth it so I've decided to give you to a rather important client."
"Good riddance" she mutters before getting a smack upside the head and sends a glare back at Damien. That was one thing she never let Damien do was break her spirit, she'd seen some of the others here who just pace aimlessly in their cell, looking lost and hollow, she swore to herself she'd never let that happen.
After being cleaned up and giving a simple green dress to wear she's driven to apparently what would be her new home. She glares at Damien as he hooks a thin silver chain leash to her collar. "Is this necessary?"
"Appearances are important Kira" He states before pulling her out of the car once they arrived at their destination. He walks up to the door, ringing the doorbell. He turns to Kira while waiting for an answer. "You will be on your best behavior. This is a very important client and I don't want anything foul coming out of that damned mouth of your's"
Kira just rolls her eyes. "You should have chosen one of the more docile girls then shouldn't you?" She asks looking at the house, taking it all in, even Damien's house wasn't as nice as this. Or at least it was more welcoming, though she didn't really think the guy she was being given to would be as nice, no one was nice to mutants. Though he couldn't be any worse than Damien.
Damien just smirks at her comment. "He seems like one who likes a challenge and I couldn't think of someone who's more of a challenge than you..."
