Kira paces back and forth in her cell, pulling at the shock collar around her neck but it didn't budge, it never did. It adjusted size to whatever she was, she was never able to break or shrink out it, it just changed with her. She sighs and closes her eyes for a brief moment. If only she hadn't been so naive those 5 years ago. She could remember the news program when she was 7, the government declaring anyone with oddities to be considered a mutant and lower forms of life, who's abilities were meant to be put to use one way or another, hard labor, becoming the help, the cook, the well anything anyone wished. Her parents tried to hide her ability away but she never did understand why being what she mutant as she was often called was so bad. Her parents warned her to never change, ever, not even in the privacy of her own room, to be as normal as possible and pretend what she could do didn't exist, so she wasn't very good at her ability until she was forced to use it for "work". She ended up in this place walking home one evening from the store, a group of guys had cornered her in an alley and she shifted into a jaguar to defend herself, which worked but little did she know it had all been a set up. After shifting back a man approached her, saying he had a place for people like her, where they would be safe and able to be themselves. It was nothing but a lie and she was foolish enough to go with him. After several maulings and injuries she had the collar she was currently wearing fashioned, the only thing that kept her in check. And now for the past five years she lives in a cell with other mutants, hired out on various jobs. Usually to be some stupid side-show people hired for entertainment, forced to change into whatever animal they willed, or sometimes just one for the person who hired her to impress their friends with some "exotic" pet. At the place she was currently staying at she was made to do the cleaning or cooking when she wasn't on a job.

She opens her eyes at hearing the door to the basement open as someone makes their way down. She glares at seeing the man who "owned" her, Damien, stop in front of her cage. Thinking she was to be let out to do her usual chores she blinks in surprise when he sends someone in to lead her elsewhere. "Get her cleaned up and wearing something decent." She just huffs and follows the girl he was commanding after getting pushed out of the cell thinking she was to go on another job.

"It'll be a relief to get rid of you and your sharp tongue. You'd think you would have learned by now, I bet your neck is nothing but fried skin under that collar" Damien smirks. "I've had enough of you and your temperamental ways. You're not making me nearly enough money for it to be worth it so I've decided to give you to a rather important client."

"Good riddance" she mutters before getting a smack upside the head and sends a glare back at Damien. That was one thing she never let Damien do was break her spirit, she'd seen some of the others here who just pace aimlessly in their cell, looking lost and hollow, she swore to herself she'd never let that happen.

After being cleaned up and giving a simple green dress to wear she's driven to apparently what would be her new home. She glares at Damien as he hooks a thin silver chain leash to her collar. "Is this necessary?"

"Appearances are important Kira" He states before pulling her out of the car once they arrived at their destination. He walks up to the door, ringing the doorbell. He turns to Kira while waiting for an answer. "You will be on your best behavior. This is a very important client and I don't want anything foul coming out of that damned mouth of your's"

Kira just rolls her eyes. "You should have chosen one of the more docile girls then shouldn't you?" She asks looking at the house, taking it all in, even Damien's house wasn't as nice as this. Or at least it was more welcoming, though she didn't really think the guy she was being given to would be as nice, no one was nice to mutants. Though he couldn't be any worse than Damien.

Damien just smirks at her comment. "He seems like one who likes a challenge and I couldn't think of someone who's more of a challenge than you..."

Gerard had woken happily that morning to a breakfast that was large and well cooked, and then he had spent the day relaxing around the pool of his home, watching the water glisten and shine, as he, unfortunately, wrote emails to his clients. His job, though what caused him to earn such a living, and let him live his life of luxury and riches, was ever dull. He had inherited the company from his father, and his father before him, when he had retired. His company was a difficult one to place a name too, as it did many things in many different branches, but being at the head of that company meant that he had to know, at every time, what was going on. And for him, that meant he had to constantly work, even if it was a Saturday, or even Christmas for that matter, work never stopped, no matter what day it was. Gerard had gone inside, his eyes on his phone as his fingers tapped away, a towel around his shoulders and his body glistened with water. His hair dripped, and every so often, Gerard's thumbs would wipe away a droplet that had landed on his phone screen. As the doorbell rings, he doesn't look up from his phone, but he does call for Maria, who did practically everything for him, to open the door. He hits send on the email and throws his phone onto the couch before he runs upstairs to quickly get showered and changed. No matter what the occasion, even if it was his family, or just a friend, he would always have to look his best. He was the face of the company after all.

Maria came to the door, looking through the small round peep-hole and seeing a face that she recognised quite well, but not well enough to like. As she unlocks the door, she smooths out her dress, then opens it slowly, bowing her head slightly at Damien. "Good afternoon, sir." She says and steps out of the way of the door, beckoning them in. Her eyes flicker over Kira, unsure as to what a mutant was doing in Master Ryves home. She could tell that she was a mutant, as the collar on her neck was the biggest giveaway of them all.

"And a good afternoon to you as well" Damien states and steps inside, giving Kira a rough tug to come along, making her stumble in and smirks at the glare Kira was giving before raising patting his pocket where the control for the collar was, daring Kira to say something about his pull inside. He turns her attention back to Maria once Kira decided it was smart to keep her mouth shut. "I have a gift for Mr. Ryves, as a thank you for becoming a client and making such a large donation. If it's possible I'd like to meet with him if he's available, there's a few things he should know about his gift before I leave it"

Kira glares at Damien for calling her an "it" or "gift" she had a name. She lets her gaze look around the house, definitely impressed with it but kept a bored expression on her face. Maybe this guy would be as dumb as a doorknob and she could steal the remote and make her escape, figuring out how to get the stupid collar off her neck while on the run. She turns her gaze to Maria, she'd seem easy to fool, or at least be a push over if she needed to use force. She just scoffs a bit to herself before looking back at Damien, still glaring at the back of his head.

Maria nods her head, leading Damien and the mutant into the open and well lit living area, furnished in a modern style. On one wall was a large TV, however in a corner was a grand piano that looked relatively well used. "Please take a seat and stay here, Master Ryves will be down in just a moment." She says as she wanders off to resume whichever task she had been doing for Gerard before the doorbell had rang. He himself, upstairs and having just finished having a short shower, quickly towel dries his hair, pushing it back so that it was out of his face, and he dries himself off and quickly changes into a grey button up, long sleeved shirt, and a pair of black suit trousers. He wondered what the person at the door was here for, or if they had gone. He hadn't got dressed for no reason, however, because he had a dinner party taking place later that night. Gerard quickly pulls on and straightens his black tie, before stepping back and checking how he looked in the mirror. Appearances were important to the company, you couldn't run something like this while looking like you worked as a kindergarten teacher. He slips on his pair of black formal shoes and opens his bedroom door, taking in the decoration of his home. The modern vibe given throughout the home constantly made him feel refreshed, and peaceful.

As he steps foot on the stairs, which were open and led straight into the well lit living area, he sees Damien, and happily walks down to greet him, momentarily not noticing the mutant that was in his home. When he noticed her, he raised his eyebrows and looked from Damien to her, though shakes Damien's hand either way, without questioning him.

Damien makes his way into the living area Maria lead them into, sitting down and giving a tug on Kira's leash to have her sit.

"You tug on that thing one more time" She growls but wasn't able to finish her threat letting out a small cry when Damien pressed the button on the remote. She just glares and grits her teeth before looking around the room she was in, thinking hopefully she'd never see Damien again after today.

Damien gets to his feet at seeing Gerard enter the room."Mr. Ryves" Damien states while shaking hand. "It's good to see you. You're home is lovely."

Kira just rolls her eyes at Damien's sucking up, glancing over at Gerard surprised at how young he was for having such an extravagant house. She turns her attention away from both men and continues her visual tour of the room she was now in, putting a disinterested look on her face but was listening intently.

"I've brought you a gift." He motions towards Kira, inhaling deeply at seeing Kira not paying attention to them. He turns back to Gerard, putting a smile back on his face. "She's a shape-shifter, you want a tiger performing tricks for some guests, you got it, a dog to fetch your slippers, you got it. You name it she can change into it. Not to mention she's quite capable at cleaning and cooking, I've made sure of that. And she's not terrible on the eyes either...if I do say so myself. Now she can be a bit of a challenge but that collar on her isn't just for looks." He pulls out the remote from his pocket. "It'll put her back in her place with the push of a button" he smirks.

"A shapeshifter?" Gerard repeats, raising his eyebrows slightly as he looks over Kiras body, smirking slightly as he looks at her. "She's for me?" He looks at Damien again, taking a seat on the couch and spreading his arms out, his elbows hanging over the edge. Gerard looks at her, and then reaches for Damien to give him the remote, anxious to learn what to do with it. He was young, impressionable, ignorant. His father hadn't wanted to give up the company to him, he'd tried for more sons, but only had daughters. Gerard was the only one who could take the company, and he had owned it officially since he was eighteen. Due to his age, just twenty three, he was still a child in the eyes of the company, even though he was well respected. His youth also affected just how much he enjoyed a new toy. "How do I use the remote?" He grins, his eyes remaining on Kira.

"She's for you." Damien confirms, grinning wide since Gerard seemed to like the gift, some people were touchy about being around a mutant, let alone having one in their home so he was glad to know Gerard regarded them as how he thought they should be regarded, as toys or workers. Nothing more than something of use for normals and to be disposed of if they were no longer useful or profitable. "Her name is Kira if you care to use it" He walks over to Gerard after handing him the remote and points as he talks. "That button gives a light zap, a warning as I like to use it for. That button there you can hold down for as long as you'd like until you get your point across. And the buttons on the side are to be used to increase or decrease the voltage" He looks over at Kira and smirks at seeing that now they had her attention. "Don't let her fool you either, she'd do anything to get her hands on that remote so make sure you keep it safe."

Kira's attention quickly snaps back to the two at hearing Gerard ask how the remote works. She tenses as she watches Damien explain the remote, not liking how Gerard was looking at her. She lets her gaze fall to the remote, watching to see if any buttons were going to be pressed, already tensed and ready for the shock.

Gerard watches the short explanation and notes the mutants name, nodding his head slowly as he understood the ways to use the remote, and that he had to keep it on him at all times. He knew how he would do that, but he would make sure to keep an eye on it just incase the mutant got to it. As the demonstration ends, Gerard looks at Damien and then at Kira. "You're going to be a good girl, aren't you Kira? We don't want to have to use this, do we?" He says, raising his eyebrows and holding up the remote for her to see, before messing with the voltage, turning it up and down again as he got used to hot it felt. He turned the voltage down onto low as he slipped it into his pocket. "This gift... Wow. I'm going to have a lot of fun with this." Gerard stands, shaking Damien's hand again. "Thank you." He says sincerely, as Maria walks into the room, pulling Gerard down so that she was whispering in his ear. She tells him that the guests for the dinner party would be arriving in an hour, and that any preparations would need to be made immediately. Gerard nods and watches her leave, then turns to Damien. "Again, thank you, but I have things to do, not to mention play with my new toy." He says, as he walks over to the front door, expecting Damien to follow.

Kira just glares at being asked if she was going to be good and turns her gaze away from him, relaxing when Gerard put the remote away, thankful he didn't decide to push the buttons for the hell of it. She turns her gaze to Maria as she enters before watching as Damien leaves. Perfectly content if she never saw him again but not sure if her new situation was any better. She stands up feeling too vulnerable sitting down if she was going to be approached and doubt she'd be expected to sit on the couch all day.

"I'm glad you're pleased with it and thank you for your business" He states with a small bow after shaking Gerard's hand, following him to the front door. "If you have any trouble at all, feel free to give a call, though I think you're quite capable of handling her" He chuckles before giving a goodbye nod and makes his exit.

"I'm quite capable of a lot of things, she's going to be a lot of... Fun." He laughs, and nods back his goodbye before shutting the door and walking back into the living room. He stands confidently in the view of Kira, and smirks at her slightly as he loosens and takes off his tie, throwing it onto the arm of the couch. "Kira. Tell me... What can you do?" He asks her, raising his eyebrows as he undoes the top button of his shirt. He wasn't in any way trying to be suggestive, he was just uncomfortable. He still preferred the shirts and jeans that he had worn when he was a teenager, but he was expected to wear smarter clothing now. Gerard leans against the edge of the couch and folds his arms across his chest.

Kira watches him cautiously, not letting her gaze move away. Over time she had learned to read Damien and he was an idiot for the most part anyways so she knew what she could and couldn't get away with but she had no idea what this man was about. She watches as he takes off his tie and loosens his shirt, apparently he dressed up for appearances not necessarily because he liked it. She was very observant, always looking for an opportunity to run so she learned how to figure out people by their behavior. "Whatever you'd like me to do. Damien gave you a synopsis of what I can do. Cook, clean, shift..." She folds her arms across her chest as well as she stares back at him before her attention turns to the piano in the corner. "I used to play piano before I became a circus act to anyone who'd pay Damien" She says bitterly. "But other than that my talents end, Damien didn't exactly give me a chance to do much else... "

He looks from her to the piano and raises his eyebrows. "In which case, you will play tonight, when my guests arrive." He commands her, putting his hands on his hips slightly. "And we really need to do something about..." He gestures over to Kiras clothes and shakes his head, "you can't be dressed like that." He pushes off the arm that he was leaning on and jerks his head to the stairs, before he grabs his tie and begins to walk up them. He had a wardrobe full of women's clothing, which he presumed could fit Kiras frame. Obviously, the clothes weren't actually his, they were being stored in his wardrobe by his sister, who owned a fashion line, and needed a place to keep things.

"I haven't played in five years!" She objects with widened eyes before looking down at her attire when Gerard gestures to it. She just sighs and follows him upstairs, she didn't choose the dress and she never really got choose what she was going to wear so didn't speak up about it since it seemed pointless to do so. She looks at all the clothing when they reached the wardrobe, never seeing clothing that nice, at least not in a long time. She looks back at Gerard waiting for him to pick what she was to change into. "Honestly though I don't think playing piano would be wise.... yes I can still read music but I doubt I'm good enough to perform for guests..."

"You'd better practice then, hadn't you?" He says absentmindedly, as he flicks through the dresses, pulling out a dark blue dress that was low cut and strappy, and at the waist like had bits missing that would clearly show her figure. He looks at the dress, then at Kira, before handing her the dress and pulling out a pair of matching heels that he presumed was about her size. "You shall change into this. I'll send Maria up to you to do your hair and makeup. I'm sure she can do... Something." He raises his eyebrows and looks her over once again, before he walks out of the room, and shuts the door behind him, making sure that he still had the remote in his pocket. He picks it up and turns the voltage up slightly, before putting it back in his pocket. He wondered when he'd get a chance to use it, and he walked away to his study, to send more emails. It was supposed to be his day off, dammit.

Kira looks at him in disbelief at practice, she couldn't get enough practice in to play for the same night, she just hoped it would come back to her. She takes the dress and looks at it with a raised eyebrow. "This? You want me to wear this?..." She had never worn something with such little fabric and watches as he leaves the room. She stares at the dress for a bit before changing into it, after all what she was wearing wasn't suitable for the kinds of guests she could only assume he'd have. She slips out of what she was wearing before slipping on the blue dress, going over to the mirror to look at herself, a bit shocked at her appearance. It wasn't something she'd choose on her own but it definitely looked good on her, she groans a bit about that fact, not liking to be stared at in general and knew that this dress wasn't going to make her inconspicuous at all. She looks towards the door wondering if she needed to go find Maria herself, wanting to at least get a bit of time to see how bad at the piano she was now.

Gerard called Maria from his study, and then commanded her to do Kiras hair and makeup, before he sat down in his chair and opened his laptop, sighing and deciding that tomorrow he wouldn't even touch his phone or laptop. He hated emails, he hated work. He just wanted to be in high school again, the whole thing was much more eventful than just... Working.

Maria knocked on the door to the room Kira was in gently, then pushed the door open and entered, shutting it behind her. "Master Ryves sent me." She says and, she knows that she had more standing, more status, than a mutant, however... She was still afraid. Gerard had given her the remote to her collar, however, which made her feel slightly more safe. Maria gestures to a stool in the centre of the room, and she walks over to a drawer and pulls out a hairbrush, hairspray, hair grips, and a makeup box.

Kira looks over at Maria before going and taking a seat on the stool where Maria had gestured. She sighs a bit and closes her eyes, wondering if her life would be nothing but being passed along or stuck here as some toy to someone. She reopens them to glance over at Maria as she gathered all the supplies needed. "Do you work willingly for that guy?" She asks, refusing to call him Master Ryves, Damien had given up on getting Kira to call him at the very least sir but she refused. She didn't consider Damien above her and she surely didn't consider this guy either. The only leverage they had over her was that remote, otherwise she could have them made into lunch meat in seconds. She had given up on trying with Damien, always getting shocked from here to hell before she could get so much as a claw into him. She had no desire to try with Gerard, at least not as blatantly since it obviously didn't work.

Maria walks over to Kira and pulls up a stool so that she was sat in front of her, she brushes Kiras hair back and begins to do her makeup while she spoke. "I work for Master Ryves because it's my job. I was hired by him to work for him. It's a job." She says, slightly on edge, she didn't want to speak much to the mutant, but she couldn't be rude. As she finishes applying the foundation, she begins to apply blusher, and then eyeliner, and mascara. Once Maria was satisfied with how Kira looked, she stood, and walked around to her back, so that she could brush her hair gently. She pursed her lips as she brushed it so that it was soft, and then plaited a ribbon that matched the colour of the dress into her hair. "He's not so bad a man." She says, defending her boss.

Kira can't help but smirk a bit, noticing Maria's hands were a bit unsteady around her. Though it irritated her slightly to know mutants were told as ghost stories it seemed. "He seems arrogant in my opinion" She states glancing over her shoulder at her noticing she was very uncomfortable spending her time in the same room as her. "What's a matter?" She gets up to her feet. "I won't bite....hard" She states before shifting into her wolf form with a snarl, changing back moments later, laughing her head off at seeing Maria fall over herself in fear. Kira looked the same, dress and hair still intact, she luckily had control over that.

"M-M-Master Ryves!" Maria squeaked as she opened the door to the room and fled down the hallway. Gerard looks up from the middle of the email he had been writing and sighs before he stands, walking in the direction of the room he had left Kira in. He stands in the doorway, one hand resting against the doorframe and the other on his hip. He raises his eyebrows at her slightly, before tutting three times slowly. "I thought we said you were going to be a good little girl?" He says, slowly, Maria appearing behind him, looking at Kira accusingly, before she hands him the remote for the collar and hurries away. Gerard shakes his head and walks further into the room, shutting the door behind him and leaning against it. "Lets see..." He says, looking at the remote in his hand. "How high should we set it?"

"Tattle tale" Kira huffs as she watches Maria run out of the room and gets back up to her feet, straightening out her dress to look up and see Gerard appear in the doorway, tutting at her. Kira gives a face to Maria before turning her attention to Gerard now that he had the remote in his hand. She took a few steps back knowing that was pointless. "I was just having a bit of fun.... It's not my fault she can't take a joke" She states, tensing up as she always did when she was expecting a shock, she couldn't help but to. "I wasn't going to actually hurt her.... she'd be in pieces if I wanted her harmed" She tries to reason.

Gerard shakes his head from side to side slowly and raises his eyebrows, chewing the inside of his cheek slightly. "No. No, you're not going to threaten my workers. Joke, or otherwise." He says and he sticks one of his hands in his pockets as he adjusts the setting on the remote. "If you do that again, I won't hesitate next time." He says and slips the remote in his pocket. He enjoyed watching her squirm, watching her tense up and then, he wouldn't do anything. He liked to tease her. But next time, he would use the remote.

Kira watches the remote disappear into his pocket before looking back at him, her shoulders relaxing again. She wasn't sure what was worse, the actual shock or the anticipation of getting the shock. She didn't say anything or apologize for the threat and couldn't guarantee doing it again if one annoyed her enough. She waited until Gerard opened the door and left, still worked up at getting closed in the room and threatened with the remote. She quickly made her way back downstairs and to the piano, staring at it for a few good moments before taking a seat at the bench. She lets her fingers run across the keys not making any sound before finally pressing down on a few, at least the piano was in tune. She sighs before placing her fingers in their correct position and attempts to play Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata from memory. It was always her favorite and soon her fingers found their correct place, occasionally hitting a wrong note and the timing was a bit off but it was recognizable as Moonlight Sonata.

Gerard went to his bedroom, dressing himself in a suit and tie more appropriate for the kind of event that was going to be happening. When he was finished getting dressed, Gerard walked downstairs and as he did he heard the piano being played, what he believed was Beethoven, but now sure any other detail than that. He listened to her play it, sitting down on the couch and checking the time anxiously. He couldn't wait to get this over with, he didn't want to have to share his new toy with anyone, and he was certain his guests would want to see her change. He wanted to be the only person to experience that, for now at least. He picked up a newspaper that was on the coffee table and opened it up properly, grimacing slightly at the photo of him and his father that was on the front page.

Kira sighs a bit at hearing Gerard come downstairs, feeling a bit nervous about playing for people. She pauses before looking back over her shoulder, noticing he was definitely nice to look at but felt he tried to hard to impress but she supposed that came with his occupation. "What exactly am I supposed to do for tonight? Do I just sit at the piano all night? Do I socialize? Do I keep my mouth shut? Do I serve hors d'oeurves? What do you want me to be doing?..." She asks, her personal choice would be to hide all night but doubted that was an option after being all dressed up.
