Nation Building Ghost in the Machine

It doesn't have to breach their security. The point of the program is to keep poking the system millions of times per second. The system gets so bogged down it has to divert bandwidth from other things just to keep itself running.
I understand that. But you're assuming it's an open system one can just plug something into. It's not at all an open system.

Actually I'll let Rom handle this. It'll be entertaining.

Lol, I liked it. It was pretty creative I just had a few questions regarding it is all. If it's sorta like DDoSing then I can understand it better since no infiltrations will be needed for that sort of thing. But I'm not sure Sardanos will be too pleased with the efforts.

@Atom

Actually since it's like DDoSing, it doesn't need to insert itself into the system. DDoSing doesn't work like that. All the program needs is sort of like an IP, which is VERY easy to access.

Not that I ever would but just us talking on skype gives anyone in the skype chatroom the opprotunity to DDoS one another. It was a very creative manuever from Tommy I must admit that.

Oh yeah, my other issue is the whole 'Windows" thing. A small issue but since the borg really is just comprised of the Sardanos, a couple lieutenants I'll introduce and the AI there really would be no "windows" to access, especially since there's no space internet. However flooding it with multiple pings would bog it down.

Annoying him is the point. Also, I just googled DDoSing, and yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing. One septillion times a second.

That's about... 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

See Rom?! why didn't you just come out and say this crap earlier damnit! T'would have eliminated a lot of discussion. Yes most of it is mass assumptions, I would like to call them educated guesses. Its all I can do.

and ive already said I wouldn't do the insta kill's against your Dreadnaughts. That point was over a while ago, I can understand that having your toughest, or one of the toughest units you have being insta-killed ticks some nerves. Ive had it happen to me as well.

however, none of this is important any more. *waves hand in a dismissive gesture* Can the Kukri crew hack the PA system across the Nefarian current fleet? or just the Flag ship?

I ask that you let me have this one thing, simply because it's the only thing I plan to f***ing do in the entire fight.

With our tech it is. Not borg tech. It's an entirely closed system I can assure you.

But feel free to do as you're planning. It'll be fun.

Thats the thing. DDoSing isn't entering the system. It's like knocking on the door. Over and over and over. The computer can't answer the metaphorical door fast enough, so it gets confused, and slows down.

Right, thank you. You know what I meant by the PA system right? Just wanted to clear that up so theres no misunderstandings...

*snorts*

"Hey guys guess what?!" "what?"

"My people have conquered entire galaxies and subjugated every species there! We have planet destroying super ships and utter genocidal anhialation capabilities!"

"oh... how goods your phone service?"

".....Shit."

*is still laughing* All that tech and their coms are shit. I aint complaining, its just funny. Did you do that as a joke or is it because the Nefarians don't give a fuck who sees their attack plans?

See I get that guys. Except the computer wouldn't answer the door. At all.

But continue Rom cause I know where you're going.

But see, if the computer doesn't go to the door and tell the person to F*** off, then the person comes inside and starts messing with things.

That's and lets face it, it isn't a very good analogy.

See the issue is you're basing this assumption off a computer. This is a massive faction of full AIs who can fuck up any computer system. To be entirely honest there is no door.

Let alone the fact that creating any sort of data link with them gives them a route into your own systems.

Just ask @Equipoise Who's had his entire factions database downloaded already. At least what was accessible from his fleet.

@Jarkov Malachai

While it is funny it actually represents Nafarian arrogance. They don't protect those because they don't really think their enemies would live long enough to ever be able to hack in and then do something about it. Instead they put all of their focus on making bigger sticks to hit their opponents over the head with to make them dead faster.

Look, the GM already cleared the move, so do the technical details of the whole thing really matter? We could sit here all week discussing the fine details of hacking, coding, programming, data files, and DDoS Bots. However, that doesn't sound very interesting.

Well I assume then you know what im going to do Rom by asking that question.

*blinks* wait what? The Kukri? They crashed into the kukri? They would have warped out of the way man. That entire bridge has been on steroid freak out waiting for someone to spot them and then just blast it to minimal safe distance

ahh damnit, I suppose its to late to do anything about it right Rom? Damn you internet, if only you worked better as of the moment. Just got a post done for another of the rps im in. Im starting on this ones. IT WILL BE DONE

It does matter actually as they're my creations and in the future nothing like that will work. I and Rom are both GMs, as is Apex. It's honestly only cleared because I'm letting it this time after discussing it with him in private but I intend to make sure you know it will NOT work in the future.

Even if they are very powerful, they can't be invincible. That's God-modding. And God-modding is neither fun, nor fair. And I know it won't work again, only an idiot doesn't learn from their mistakes.

@TommyGun15

Of course they aren't invincible.

But bosses are still immensely powerful, but they all still fall but require a good deal of teamwork to beat. If you have any questions regarding boss plots and thread bosses, please refer to the "Boss Plots" section of the rules tab.

Although again, I liked your creative thinking there.

Thank you. And I'm aware that is takes teamwork to beat them. I'm just trying to contribute with what I have.

@Seymour man I just read your post, there are no entry points into the Kukri left available for a shuttle sized ship. Sorry, and even if there was I would highly advise you to rethink your post. The Kukri is NOT the place you want to be at right now man. With the Dredge and Dreadnaughts going nuts trying to kill eachother its a war zone and your guy will most likely die from the two power houses going at it.

Though Rom, you want to do a collab for this since I plan to have a lot of Dialogue? Might as well get it over with eh?

its a cool way to do it yea. *chuckles* just not the best place to do it. You really wouldn't want to be on the Kukri right now... unless I don't know. If you cant figure out a way to get situated just tell me and ill see what I can do. Just as around a bit. Everyone heres really helpful good sir, im sure we can fit you in somewhere. hey hey hey *wiggles eyebrows* Galumoras always up for another crew member. *chuckles a bit* I jest I jest... or do I?

Right then Rom, do you have a google account?
