howdy! i'm wren β 21+ and ready to make poor decisions!
the skinny: i'm seeking marvel (cinematic universe, sorry comic fans) canon x oc doubles. any genders/pairings welcomed, though i can't promise i can write every character well. e.g., thor/loki's speech patterns turn my brain to mush when i try to write them for reasons that have yet to be ascertained. ask about your favorite canon and i'll see what i can do! be warned, i'm only up to date on the movies through phase 3. anything after that is hit or miss. as far as pre-phase 4 shows, the only one i got into was agents of shield. (and what a series that was. please talk to me about it.) no netflix shows, sorry.
on my end, i have a hydra scientist who doesn't want to be here and needs an excuse to go apeshit. primarily looking to play them off a zemo, or maybe a loki, but i'm open to suggestions if you have a muse you think would fit particularly well. chaotic and morally grey characters are preferred!
βσ π© β guidelines
>> be 18+, no exceptions.
>> be cool with writing with (if not as) lgbt+ characters.
>> discord (preferred) or dms only.
>> please dm if interested, don't post.
>> be open to communication, whether for working out scenes, coming up with future plot points, or gushing about each other's characters. hand over those pinterest boards. i know you have them.
>> bring at least an idea or two for your oc / oc + canon counterpart. let's have equal parts in the planning process!
βσ π© β other
not necessarily rules, but things i still think are important for determining if we'll mesh well.
posting
for post lengths, i typically mirror whatever length my partner writes. otherwise, the 200-500 word range is my sweet spot for timely replies that still have substance.
posting frequency is more variable. you know how it is. can be multiple times weekly or a few times a month depending on motivation/life stuff. not looking for any posting schedule in particular from my partner; go at your own pace.
third person, past or present tense. very flexible as long as we're staying away from first/second person and excessive use of 'would's.
characters
dynamic characters, please! canons or ocs, if 90% of a character's repertoire is smiling gently, giggling, nodding, and that's it? nothing kills the immersion faster. bring portrayals with interesting mannerisms, funky dialogue, and anything else that makes them feel like a real person. depth! humor! vivid descriptions! this is something that really makes or breaks a roleplay for me personally. you don't have to be the greatest writer of all time (i sure as hell ain't), but even beautiful prose and perfect grammar mean nothing if a character isn't engaging.
also, while it's not always feasible, my kingdom for stories that allow the ocs to interact. let them complain about their canon counterparts and commiserate about plot developments. minor past entanglements between the ocs are also fun to work out if you're interested in that.
relationships
i have a soft spot for romance (especially the slow burn variety), so expect that from my side. platonic + found family themes own my heart and soul, though. (fr)enemies? sick as hell. one of the things i'm not looking to write is an abusive or irredeemable character. a bit of toxicity, codependency, etc., is a-ok. love me a flawed character. i'm good with darkness, but there has to be a light at the end of the tunnel. other than that, ask and you shall receive.
