William Russell

ezgif-2-8cdff61e55.gif Will listened to Jacky as she reassured him that he wasn't the bad guy. It meant a lot to him to hear such words as the last thing he ever wanted was to become his father, and he worried maintaining his family's businesses was leading him in that direction. He expected Evelyn and Timmy to be off doing their own thing at the party, but as time went on, he was getting a little frustrated that Alekander, the brother who was one of the most invested in the business, had not yet shown his face. They had things to discuss. Then there was Abraham, who didn't always pull his weight, but at least he was doing a good job at managing one of the pub's, the Dragon's Nest. Will took another drink from his pint, his eyes fixing on Timmy for a short time as the brother approached Evelyn and a couple of others. "Timmy's going to have to start pulling his weight. He's happy enough attending these parties and spending the family's earnings, but he need to help out more. He'll probably be pissed off with me when I talk to him, but I care for him dearly... he needs something productive to focus on," he explained. He wasn't sure how much longer Timmy could keep living the lifestyle of drinking too much and bringing different women home before it all caught up to him.

Will's mind switched off from his serious musings when Jacky made her playful suggestion. A flirtatious smile appeared on his lips and his shoulders relaxed. She always managed to ease his worries. "Jacky, darling..." he began, grinning as he caught her playful wink. "Now you're making me want to ditch this flashy pantomime and get straight to the fun part," he flirted. He placed his arm around her shoulder and pulled her in close, kissing the side of her head. "Thank God for you, my love."

Evelyn had been socializing with Liam and Hanna when Timothy wedged himself in between them, placing an arm around each shoulder. Evelyn rolled her eyes at her brother and knew that Timothy had likely come to finish the job that William had started. She expected nothing less from her brothers of course but the poor girl felt overwhelmed as it was. Regardless she smiled and leaned into her older' brother's embrace slightly. "No interruptions here we had just began to speak after all." Evelyn often worried for her brother, he had a bit of a problem with alcohol and sometimes he flew off the handle.

He addressed the young lady before her and she wanted to roll her eyes again. pretty women were also an addiction of his. Waiting on the woman's answer Evie bit her lip and shifted from foot to foot. Her eyes glanced Liam's way to make sure he wasn't dying of embarrassment like he was. He was always so more controlled emotionally then her, so she wasn't surprised to see him looking calm compared to her slightly irritated and more than embarrassed facial expression. After introductions were out of the way Evelyn looked to her brother and smiled, "You enjoying yourself Timmy?"

The game continued on just as well with Harvey reacting to her own flirtatious banter with his own. Though as he explained that he was always happy to share his things including his bed Allison's stomach did flips. He was bold to be suggesting such things but she honestly expected nothing less. Instead of looking how she felt, she laughed at his words and playful wink. He was taking a stab at himself and that was honorable in itself. He was honest with his flirtatious ways and that was one of the things Allison respected deeply, as she was the same way. A small frown graced her lips as Harvey revealed he couldn't begin to guess what her brothers were talking about in the club.

She nodded at this understanding that he didn't have all of the info but he knew some things. As he said he was only a lackey Allison scoffed, knowing he was much more than that to the Morgan family. Allison shifted slightly on her feet at his next question. "Takes a lot to keep me satisfied, Harvey." A flirtatious tone took a hold of her voice for a moment and she offered the man a teasing smirk. But after a moment she lost it and sighed, bring the glass that was still in her hands to her lips again and finishing off the last bit of alcohol. "I wish to do more, though I think Dexter believes that my place is more in the business and nightclub scene. Ollie is always looking out for me but I know he knows I can take care of myself." She shrugged her shoulders ever so slightly. "I've just stood back and let my brothers do what's best for a long time now, but I feel like its now my place to step up and help." Years ago, Allison had been whistling a very different tune. Wanting to settle down away from the family and the potential hardships that could come with it. She wanted nothing to do with the business. But as she was now left with nothing but family and the business, she wanted to submerge herself completely in it. Perhaps in attempts to drown out the past.

Maggie shook her head as Tim left to find his sister, no doubt in her mind he was going to pester her instead. She turned her attention. She narrowed her eyes at him, though smirked, as he called her the potential holy terror, though she appreciated the effort he put in for a compliment, it was only slightly marred by the comment prior. "Thank you?" She said questioningly to the man, leaning on the bar across from him. "I feel like that should have been a compliment, or at least you thought it was...." She reached out from a waiter and collected his drink list to his table, starting to fill his tray with glasses as she continued. "What's next, Des? You going to say I'm pretty but you think I"m a dragon lady or something?"

Jacky followed William's gaze as he spoke about Timothy; she knew Tim's pension for his leisurely life style and only felt guilty slightly that Will would have to have that talk with him. She certainly wouldn't step in but she'd back her husband to be on anything he felt was needed. She smiled as he suggested skipping the festivities. She leaned against him and gave a playful pout. "Don't make me regret my offer!" She said playfully to him. "I want to bid on some of those dresses I keep hearing about." Though she knew perfectly well if William suggested they take off this second she wouldn't never tell the man no.

Steven smiled and shook his head as Frankie suggested it was hard for him to come out tonight; she certainly wasn't wrong but he would never admit it, nor would he assume that she would owe him anything for any of this. Even if in the end the woman only wanted his company as friends he would still be happy to go to the moon and back for her. She was genuine and kind to a fault. "Well if you insist," He teased, raising an eyebrow as she suggested paying him back, he smirked a moment, letting her think on it before speaking again. "I think you should come to my next boxing match, cheer me on and all that." He chuckled quietly.

He glanced the direction of his table and the others he had been seated with giving a slight shrug. "They're nice enough, I guess, little too rowdy I think but, hey, it's not my cup of tea but they're enjoying themselves. You put on a pretty good show, and I'm not the only one who thinks that." His eyes traveled the crowds as the mingled between auctions. "Don't let me keep you, Frankie; you've got work to do and I can keep myself entertained until you're done."

Francis was kind of surprised at the invitation to his boxing match. That would mean they would be seen in public and everything. A million thoughts were going through her head at the moment and she could only hope her face didn't betray her. However, it was very exciting. So exciting to her, in fact, that her eyes lit up and she clapped her hands together. "Oooo , that'd be fun. But just know, I can become very unladylike and I will if anyone punches you." Francis was always protective over some of the people that came into her life, but lately she was becoming more protective of him. So far, her list included Mags, Timmy, and Stephen and would probably grow in the near future. She bit her lip when he told her she should be getting back to her guests. Her nerves were calm now, but being in just his presence alone was much better than being around all of the other people. "But I want to be the one keeping you entertained." She whispered in his ear, thankful she was wearing heels. He was a bit taller than she was and she's normally have to stand on her tip toes. She then inched her lips close to his as if about to kiss him. "But if you insist." She told him, their lips brushing against each other. With a devilish smirk on her face, she stepped back and started for the podium.

She was a lot more confident now, her nerves steeled. All she wanted to do now was get this fundraiser rolling again. She excused herself on the mic with a smile and waited for the chatter to die down. "Now that our first auction is done, it's the ladies turn." There were a few playful whoops in the crowd which made Francis laugh. "I agree. The lovely Clementine Russell has offered last seasons fashion show dresses to be auctioned off." The spotlight shined to Clementine and the mother of the Russell's just gave a humble smile before drinking from her cup. "Now, these dresses were only worn once so their value is very high, my loves. So, take out your wallets and your husbands and let's get on with the bidding."

Desmond gave Timothy a respectful nod as the man departed. "Likewise," he remarked. Turning his attention back to the bartender, he could tell from Margaret's reaction that he wasn't going to get off scot-free with his backhanded compliment. As always Mags took the comment in stride and turned it around on him, brown eyes gleaming mischievously as she leaned across the bar before turning to attend to her duties. This was the nature of their banter with one another. It might seem shallow or even occasionally crass to the casual observer, but neither seemed to take offense at the other's wit. In fact, it had formed the foundation for a friendship of sorts between them on Desmond's not-infrequent visits to the Alley Cat.

Des smiled slowly, confidence bolstered by the momentary lack of eye contact as Margaret turned to fill the drink order. His fingers tapped idly against the cool glass of his own gin & tonic as he spoke. "No need for that, Mags. If I were ever to call you 'pretty', it would be free of any 'buts'."

Harvey nodded his head when Allison said it took a lot to keep her satisfied. "I don't doubt that for a minute," he casually replied. He then took another drag of his cigar, a playful spark still present in his eyes. His face turned more serious as she explained that she wanted to do more. "Have you told your brothers that you want to do more? I'd hope by now both of them know you are capable. You've done a good job at managing the aspects of the business you've been given. You should put yourself forward, Allison," he suggested. "The worst that can happen is they say no, but at least you tried. You'll still have control over the nightclub scene and they'll know you desire more."

As a short silence fell between them, Harvey couldn't help but overhear a small part of a conversation two men were having as they left the club. "I'll see you at Russell's casino at midnight." Allison would notice as Harvey furrowed his brow. He looked over his shoulder to see the two men going their separate ways across the street. He looked back to Allison and flashed a faint smile as the cogs turned in his head. He didn't doubt the words he had heard, but he had to wonder if the context was as he assumed. If the Russell in question was William Russell, then someone had some explaining to do. The Morgans had not been made aware of any casino and if it was the case, this could be a big problem for Will. Harvey knew he would need to approach this matter carefully.

Will looked to where the auction was taking place, listening as Jacky mentioned wanting to bid on some dresses. "I wouldn't dream of standing in the way of you and a new dress," he reassured her. He looked to his empty pint glass and decided to go to the bar for some more drinks. "You make sure you bid for whatever dress you want and make sure you win. I'm paying, so it's my treat." He got up from his seat and pointed to Jacky's glass. "I'll go get us both some more drinks," he told her.

Will saw Dexter and Oliver speaking nearby, but decided not to interrupt their conversation. He ordered his and Jacky's drinks before looking back to the two Morgan brothers and identifying an appropriate time to approach them. He may not see eye to eye with the Morgans, but he still had manners and wouldn't burst in during the middle of their conversation. Once they looked done, Will approached the two men. "Good evening. Dexter. Oliver," he respectively greeted them. "Are you enjoying the fundraiser, so far?" he curiously asked, flashing a friendly smile. "Francis has really gone all out this time." There were a lot of important people in the club tonight, so he was aware it was in everyone's best interests to keep things as civil and friendly as possible.

Jacky smiled hearing William not only encourage her to pick a dress and set her heart to it but that he would foot the bill. She nodded as he suggested getting new drinks and she blew him a kiss on his way. She turned her attention back to Francis as she proudly announced the dresses to be bid upon. Jacky had had a sneak peak at the them, only with the scrutinizing gaze for Clementine over her shoulder to make sure she didn't touch anything - a small benefit to soon being a Russell herself. They were magnificent. Better than anything Jacky could have seen ever before and there was one in particular that she had her heart set on. She was far from traditional and she wanted the dress for her wedding. Now with Williams permission she would be able to bid on it to her hearts content.

Maggie paused in her work at Des's final comment, uncertain if the man was flirting with her or not. At times it was difficult to tell his intentions. They often were flirtatious with each other. Cheeky. Even went out of their way to poke fun at one another but every so often their conversation drifted into more serious terms. She was thankful for the distraction of filling the drink order for the waiter that stood next to the bar, letting the silence draw out a little longer between them. Once she was done and the waited on his way she'd smile pleasantly at her friend. "If I didn't know you better Des, I'd say you were flirting with me." She say slyly.

William soon returned to the bar and reordered his previous drinks: one Guinness and one white wine, "Right up," She confirmed with the man and set about removing the empty glassware into the tub beneath the counter and pulling out to fresh ones from the shelving behind her. She made a quick note to check on the kitchen staff and make sure they were keeping up on the night so far. The last think she needed was Francis coming to see for herself. She set out William's fresh order, glancing at Des's drink to see he was still working on it. "I'll be right back." She waved down a waitress to come take her place behind the bar for the few minutes she would need to step into the kitchen. She hefted the tub of used glassware onto her hip and slipped around back of the bar and into the bustling kitchen behind.

Steve smirked hearing Francis' flirtatious and rather risque statement whispered into his ear. He chuckled quietly after she teased at a kiss before retreating to the stage and her adoring public. He felt the tell tale warmth fill his chest as he watched her from back stage in her element; she was gifted at this, to say the least, perfect for center stage, keeping people enthralled and on her every word. It was a wonder he'd managed to keep his distance this long. He never felt he belonged with her in all honesty; she was a bright shiny star doing the work of good and he... well he wasn't much compared to her. Not to mention his occasional illegal activities would only mare her good work. He shook his head, not something to dwell on for the moment. He slipped around back headed for his table but paused mid stride: most of the men there were gone, mostly likely stepped out for a smoke. Those remaining at the table were the few men who had wives or dates ready for the next auction. Instead Steve headed to the bar to find himself his first drink of the night.

He approached, not failing to notice his sister was missing from action for the moment, he nodded to the waitress, "Beer on tap," before turning to look at other patron's near by, giving the Morgan man a short nod.

Damian had a scowl on his face as he arrived at the Alley cat. The main reason that he had been late had to be with the fact that he honestly didn't want to come here at all, he didn't want to come to a place that would make him speak with people who he didn't want to speak with. Heck the main reason had to be that his family was here and he really didn't want to disappoint them at all by not coming here. It was one thing having to hate people but it was another having to come here just because his family had been invited and him having to please them. To him family was always the number one priority and if he had to be here, he would be here. Sighing to himself, he walked toward the bar to get himself something to drink, he just hoped that they didn't give him some alcoholic beverage like the last time he had been here. Sure he came here often but he never came to order drinks, so the first time he had done so, he had been knocked out cold quickly. He was a lightweight when it came to drinking, somethingthem. t ashamed him but it wasn't something that he could fix, being that he hated both smoking and drinking alcoholic beverage. Sitting down on one of the stool, Damian turned to the stage, watching the things that where being bid. It was interesting to see what they had, mostly because he wanted to see some of the fools who would buy them. He had wanted to ask someone on what's other things had been bid but had decided against it, mostly since talking to someone would feel like someone was hitting his face as he tried to come up with what he wanted to say.

Abraham had woken up with a yawn as he stretched his body, figuring that he was currently late to the event happening at the Alley cat. Turning to look at the time, he had to raise an eyebrow in surprise seeing that no one had decided on waking him up. Maybe they had been too busy to notice that he was still on his bed when they had been preparing to go to said event. Stretching a little bit, Abraham had went to go take a quick shower, something would wake him up from said tiredness that he was currently feeling. Once he had gotten himself completely dressed, he had turned to look at his still sleeping fiancee, before shaking his, knowing that it wouldn't do good for him to wake her up before leaving his room. Now that he though about it, this actually felt like one of those rare moment where he had actually stayed at his sibling household, last time being a day before he had moved away from here. Getting on his vehicle, he started to drive toward the event, stopping at Dragons Nest, his pub, to make sure that everything was being run okay without him being there. Happy with what he saw, he parked his car on one of the parking spot open before walking toward the entrance. Once he had entered, he saw many people there, greeting some people he knew and some people who he didn't. Once that was said and done, he had gone to find his siblings.

Billie Ellis

IMG_8396.JPG
Billie Ellis was dressed in her best. She was wearing a green dress that was shorter in the front and longer in the back. There was no waistline and the dress puffed out. There was also a long ribbon along the neckline of the dress. On her feet, there were matching green heels, quite high, the kinds that took quite a lot of time to learn how to walk in. But Billie seemed to do it like a pro. She was also wearing bold green eye shadow, lots of mascara, winged eyeliner and bright ref lipstick. She considered red lipstick to be classiest. Her brown hair was voluminous. Of course, class wasn't something that was a part of her profession. But, Billie planned on leaving it one day.

Tonight, she was at the Alley Cat, a charity fundraiser. Billie thought it was a worthy cause. If she made any money tonight, she'd be donating it. Billie was staying off to the sides, observing. She had become a master at observing. She was looking for someone who looked like they might have money. That was really all there was that she was looking for in a marriage. She had a seductive look on her face, a cigarette in one hand and a glass of champagne in the other. She was giving winks to various men whom she saw. She knew that tonight would be tense, with members of the Morgan and Russell gangs. Billie didn't like to concern herself in all of that. She just cared that she would be paid.

Desmond Forbes

Desmond wondered, briefly, if he had crossed their unspoken line with his comment upon seeing Margaret freeze, her back turned to him and preventing him from reading her expression. He cursed himself internally, glancing down at his gin & tonic. Not even halfway gone, so I can hardly blame it on the booze as an excuse. It wasn't rare for their conversations to take on an ever so slight flirtatious tone, but it was rare for him to be the one to initiate... and rarer still for it to be a patently genuine compliment as his had been.

Finally Mags ended his torment, turning to speak to him with that same mischievous smile. Des returned it, somewhat self-consciously and opened his mouth to reply, "And if I--" he stopped abruptly as a man approached -- another of the Russell brothers -- and ordered several drinks. Des watched the exchange, deigning not to finish his sentence. He simply gave Margaret a friendly nod as she disappeared into the back, continuing to nurse his drink before turning sideways in his seat to watch the dress auction with vague interest until another figure approached. Desmond recognized him immediately -- Stephen Clarke. The man was Maragret's brother, though that wasn't the source of his familiarity to Des.

Steve seemed almost out-of-place in his Sunday best, like a tiger forced into a cage and tolerating it for the time being. Desmond was used to seeing him covered in sweat (and, on occasion, blood) as he fought in the ring. He returned man's nod and, hearing his order, turned to the waitress behind the bar. "Put his drink on my tab please, miss."

For this part of the auction, Francis would step aside. The popularity of Clementine's dresses was obvious, and she wasn't a fast enough speaker to hold a quick auction like this. Girls were practically making themselves go bankrupt with the amount of money they were bidding. Though, Francis shouldn't have been that surprised. Everything was going great, money wise of course. They had raised quite a bit at tonight's function, making it all a success. Nothing too dramatic had happened. Yet. Her mind changed when she followed William's movements to Oliver. She became tense again, praying nothing bad would happen between the two. At first she wanted to seek out Stephen again, but knew she shouldn't. She was becoming a bit too dependent on him and it could be bad for her.

Instead, she spotted Billie and strode over to her. With a smile, she took her cigarette and put it out with her fingers, giving a chastising look. "Now, you know I hate smoking in the club but that I hate when you smoke even more." She told her, giving a little hug. "How are you, love? The auction didn't go too bad, did it?" She asked, mostly to make sure she was doing okay but also because she needed that reassurance.

"Spoilsport," said Billie with a little laugh and she smiled slightly as Francis put out her cigarette. She knew Francis didn't like smoking in the club, as well as Billie herself smoking, but it had become a habit of Billie's. She'd been doing in since she was a young teenager. She kindly embraced Francis back.

Billie loved working for Francis. She got to the thing she loved and Francis took care of her girls. In Billie's opinion, there wasn't much more that made for excellent employment. It was just perfect in Billie's opinion. She hoped that she would continue to work for Francis

"I'm well," said Billie softly. She took a sip of her drink. "I think the auctions going splendidly. You're doing a excellent job, dear. And it's for a great cause. You ought to be proud of yourself for doing this every year. And anything I make tonight, all goes to the orphanage. And once this all over, you get a good night sleep. I'm you're exhausted from planning it all."

Allison nodded along with Harvey's words knowing that she should have probably just asked her brother's for more involvement. As much as she loved the jobs she took care of now, it wasn't what she thought would help her family. Allison's expertise was in manipulation of the mind and so far, she hasn't been able to put it to very good use. She had given up her career in psychology to focus more on the family business and in a sense, this wasn't fulfilling to her. Biting her lip lightly in thought, the silence that fell between them for a moment gave her time to think about what she would even say to her brothers, when she would even say it. Guess there was no better time to discuss it than right now, but she knew they were still probably talking, as Ollie would normally be looking for her by now. Allison hadn't noticed the other conversation but she did see Harvey's brow furrow. She stayed still noticing the direction he was looking in.

Harvey turned around to face her just as the two men who had been talking went their separate ways. A faint smile played on his lips but she could tell he was thinking about something that just happened a moment ago, something she missed while stuck in her own deep thoughts. "What did they say?" She wondered out loud, figuring that Harvey must have found something interesting in the conversation between the two men.

Maggie set the tub of glassware on the counter next to the dishwashers, her brown eyes taking in the kitchen, wait staff and cooks as they were bustling around the room. She knew Francis' strict schedule to a second and knew they were managing to keep close to the schedule but she wanted them to do better, to be faster. She slowly paced through the kitchen, pausing here and there to look over the status of various dishes, how far along they were. It looked like by the time Francis' was ready so would the kitchen be; and she was thankful for that. Many of those were veterans of the renowned fundraiser night. Her tour complete and satisfactory, she collected a tray of clean glassware and headed back to the bar front.

T1UFOot.jpg

Steve paused as the Morgans' man offered to pay for his drink. He gave the man a stiff nod, "Thanks," before glancing back to Francis' as she was up on stage pulling money from the audience in droves. The waitress soon returned with his drink order and her raised the glass to Desmond before taking a long drink. He had seen the fellow around more than a few times, spending all of that time at the bar. Francis' had said more than once that he was a stand up guy but he wondered idly if it was interest in his sister that brought him back to the bar, since he didn't seem to be socializing with anyone else, nor had the man eve bothered looking at the stage as the women were auctioned off.

"Enjoying your night?" He asked quietly, leaning against the bar to be partially facing Desmond and half facing the crowds.

He knew the man of course, but the two had never conversed despite their mutual connection through Margaret, such as it was. As he spoke up again, Des chuckled lightly and turned to face him, lifting his drink and inclining the glass toward Steve slightly. "Good drinks, good company. What's not to enjoy?" he said with a smile. "What about you? A far cry from the ring, I imagine?"

As he spoke, Desmond saw Margaret emerge from the back once again. He gave her a small smile before turning back to her brother.

"You'll get over it." She countered after being called a spoilsport. Francis genuinely liked Billie and believed that she could be so much more if wanted. There was potential in the young girl that she wanted to help make known. How long it would take she didn't know, but she was willing to put in the time. She then thanked her for the compliment on the auctions. Hearing people tell her how nice the night was going gave her more confidence than she thought was possible. At the mention of her working, she shook her head. "You should not be working. Enjoy the night, crazy. Go mingle. The other girls were auctioned for dates and they're excited. They aren't working and neither should you."

Harvey looked Allison in the eyes as she asked what he'd overheard the two men saying. Despite the small smile that had briefly played on his lips, the situation was a conflicting one. The Russells typically kept in line and he rarely had to intervene or thrown his weight around with their members. In honesty, though he'd hardly be sharing drinks with the man, he didn't really dislike Will. The two men were on relatively good terms, despite the tension between Oliver and Will. Harvey thought it would be a shame if he too had to lose the civilities with the Russell boss.

"They mentioned attending Russell's casino," he told Allison. "As far as we are aware, that's not a business the Russells are running. I'd like to give Will the benefit of the doubt as he knows the score... I mean, if it's something even he's not aware of then it can easily be resolved. He can ensure the guys behind it are dealt with. However, if Will is running a casino, this isn't going to go down well with your brothers. To be honest, I'd be pretty pissed off too. I don't much like being deceived," he explained. He bit his lip as he glanced back into the club. "We might have to keep quiet about it, at least until the end of the night. It would be a shame to spoil a good evening. Those poor little orphan kids and all that..." he remarked.

Alena was just about done with waiting around for Darius who still hasn't come downstairs. She was way too tired in going back upstairs to check up on this boy and plus she knew she was already as late as it is to the fundraiser tonight and honestly, what was the point in attending if she was going to be there for the last few minutes. Alena had her name registered already and frankly, she was sad about being late, she hated arriving late to things. If she was going to be late, she might as well not go at all and save herself the embarrassment. Alana walked over to the big brown door and opened it to see that the taxi was already here honking for her to come out. Alana went over to the kitchen and wrote a quick note for Darius. The note read...

______________________________________________________________________________________________________
Darling, I waited for you and I honestly cannot be late to things such as these. You know how important they are to me, and I was really hoping to spend some time with you, but I understand if you felt different. You should have let me known that you were not interested in going with me, I would have understood instead of making me wait. I will be back later tonight and try not to wake up the whole neighbourhood.

Love you,
Mama

Alena left the note on the country and left the house to go to the taxi. As she was in the taxi, she checks to see if her lipstick was smudged, but it was alright. When the taxi driver was driving her towards the event, he kept on staring back at her. Alena looked at him as he stared at her from the mirror. "You have some nerve old man, keep your eyes on the road." Alena shot at him and he cleared his throat and his eyes were ficated on the road. Alena had arrived to the event in ten minutes, she paid the man and got out of the taxi. Alena walked into the building and she heard soft music playing and people have conversations, she was nervous and embarrassed to be showing up at a time like this. Alena tried to shake it off, so she went over to the bar and ordered a scotch.

Timmy kissed the top of his sisters head before nodding. “Of course, you know how I enjoy parties. Francis’ most of all. Although, her rowdier parties are a lot more fun than the stiff ones.” He told her. His eyes were wandering around the place. There were people talking at the bar, women gossiping about the dresses they had just won at the auction, his brother walking in, and another speaking with the Morgan’s. Will speaking to Dexter and Oliver made him do a double take, unsure as to why he was over there in the first place. He knew William wouldn't do anything to cause any trouble, but the fact that he was over there kind of put him on edge. He took his hand and rubbed his face before turning back to his sister. "Looks like Abe's here. I'm gonna go catch up with him and then come bother you later, yeah?" Before she could give him an answer, he gave her forehead another kiss and made his way to Abraham, but not before noticing Alena. "Looking very well this evening." He said as they walked past each other. He would walk backwards towards his brother to see her walk to the bar. 'Yeah, gotta talk to her later.' he thought to himself. Once he finally made his way to his brother, he gave him a pat on the shoulder then put his hands in his pockets.
"Nice of you to show up, where you been? Mom was looking for you earlier."

Watching the auction of her own things was something spectacular. There were more girls than she thought that liked her things and were willing to give an arm and a leg for one. It was a great feeling to say the least and she was on the edge of her seat. Hearing the auctioneer introduce her dresses gave her a little tingle every time. There was a dress in particular she wanted to make sure wasn't on the rack of dresses, however, she wanting to give it as a gift. It was a dress Jacqueline had been eyeing for a while now. Clem had noticed how she lingered on it before the moving men whisked it away and she asked Francis to hold on to it. She was just making sure that it was. When the auction was over, she instructed a servant to bring the dress and present it to Jacqueline as a surprise. It would of course be possibly the last and only nice thing she did for the girl, still not totally trusting her around her son. But, she knew how important the dress was to her so why not? She would sit with a glass of wine this time and watch the girls face, trying to act as if she had nothing to do with it when it was presented to her.

Steve smirked as the Morgan's man beside him clearly knew who he was but Steve honestly couldn't recall his name. He chuckled lightly. "More or Less," he replied with a bemused smile, taking a sip of his beer. "More less than more that is. Not used to being on this side of the crowds, if you know what I mean. Noise and bustle don't bother me but I just don't know what to do with my hands." He laughed then, leaning against the bar as Maggie returned behind it. "I just feel out of place, y'know? Like a bull in a china shop." He leaned towards Desmond, extending his hand. "M'names Steve."

Maggie had to pause and glance between Desmond and Steve as the two men spoke to each other at the bar. She frowned slightly wondering how, or if, the two were connected in anyway; she'd have to ask Des later. Instead she smiled to the waitress that had covered her for her tour of the kitchen and waitstaff, setting down the clean glassware to start putting it away. It was more than a little off putting that Des was walking to her brother. While she didn't have anything against her family, she also didn't really talk to him. She hadn't in months, their last conversation being a drink order followed by Steve asking how she'd been and her simple reply. They didn't have anything in common any more; not that it was either of their faults.

Jacky watched the dress auction with heightened anticipation; she smiled contently watching other women bid away at the dresses as they came to stage and was not at all surprised to see them go for astonishing prices. She knew she would be in for a run for her -and William's- money but she knew it would be worth every cent. As the final dress came and went from the stage Jacky bit her lower lips excited to see the dress she so desperately wanted to come to stage. However this never came to pass; Francis' soon declared the auction over and was thanking everyone for their money well spent.

She frowned slightly in confusion; she knew that she had seen the dress loaded to come to the club tonight, she knew Clementine had intended to sell it. With a sigh of disappointment Jacky brought her glass of wine to her lips and drank back the remaining contents. It served her right for not speaking to Clementine about it earlier; the designer and future mother in law likely had someone here already purchase it. She set her glass down to look around for Will when she saw it, the dress of perfection: tee length white dress with soft baby blue organza overlay topped together with the nearly teal sash and corset. She couldn't prevent herself from following it's wandering transport through the busy room.

She blinked at the server as he stood before her table with the dress, presenting it too her, "What is this?" She asked quietly and the server was clearly caught off guard. "Your dress ma'am." He said with hesitation. "A gift. Undisclosed." Jacky's eyes drifted back to the dress, she reached out to touch the fine material, a slow smile coming to her lips. She couldn't imagine who would have done this for her; at first she thought it might have been William but she tossed that thought away; he hadn't even known it existed until she mentioned something. "Thank you," She said to the server. "Could you please hold it in the back until I leave tonight?" He nodded and turned away, heading off.

Desmond smirked at Steve's reply, glad that he wasn't offended by the remark. It wasn't difficult to see the vague discomfort the man felt at his surroundings -- especially because it was the same Des himself had felt during his first few visits to the Alley Cat and other "functions", before he had slowly become more comfortable with the crowds and noise: two things which certainly did bother him even if they didn't the boxer. As the man admitted just how out of place he felt, Des nodded thoughtfully. "I know the feeling," he said somewhat somberly.

As Steve introduced himself formally, Desmond took his hand and gave it a firm shake. "Desmond Forbes. It's a pleasure to finally meet you properly." Out of the corner of his eye he spotted Margaret returning to her post, putting the glasses away. He gave her a small smile when she looked in his direction. He wasn't sure if she was on the best of terms with her sibling; she hardly ever mentioned the man. There didn't seem to be any outright hostility between the two so much as a cool distance. It wasn't Desmond's place to question or judge, however.

Dottie stood away from her family as she watched the dresses being auctioned. She wished she could have tried to bid for some of the clothing, but the money she earned at the cafe was nowhere near enough for this kind of auction. She figured she'd just find Francis later and give her a direct donation. She figured it was the thought that counted, right? Her eyes were then diverted to Jacqueline as she watched the redhead being given one of the dresses. Dottie couldn't help but notice how pretty it was and she felt slightly envious, if she was being honest. What a lucky lady!

As if on cue, the moment Lottie finished the last of the cocktail Imogen had left for her, she heard a man's voice close to her left ear. He offered to buy her another drink, which she was all ready to accept until she turned her head to see he was at least old enough to be her father. That was just all kinds of gross to Dottie but she knew she shouldn't really say exactly that to him and risk hurting his feelings. "No, I'm good... but thank you for the offer," she politely declined. She turned so she was properly facing the older man, to make sure it was clear to him that she was too young.

"Well, how about you come join me at my table and we can talk?" he suggested, with a wink. The wink alone was enough to repulse her.

"No offence, but I'm not interested," Dottie firmly told him. What a creep. "Find someone closer to your age, yeah?" she suggested, before walking away from him and to see if she could find someone fun to hang around with. Or at least someone who wasn't an old lech, to buy her a drink. She momentarily looked over her shoulder to make sure the man wasn't following her. "Yuck," she mumbled as she noticed that he hadn't moved from his spot but he was still eyeing her. She quickly turned away and continued to walk.

Abraham had been about to take his first sip of the drink he had been given before someone, aka his brother, came from from somewhere, giving him a pat on his shoulder, making him raise an eyebrow at him. "Tim." He nodded to him, while letting him speak while drinking his drink, before stopping as his brother mentioned how his mother had been looking for him. "My bad, I was really tired out from staying on work late that I didn't wake up until it was really late and now here I am, late, almost at the end of said auction." It really kinda pissed him off that he had been late but what can he do. He liked working late and liked coming late, even if others didn't like it. "If mother has been looking for me, it would seem that she can find me here now, after all, I'm not hard to find." He said before taking a sip. He actually knew that he was gonna be chew out for coming late, but not like it bothered him, he had often done that it didn't bother him when he went somewhere late. Melanin-Gxdess Melanin-Gxdess

Billie gave Francis a soft smile. She felt luck to be in her employ. Francis was a good boss, and she was grateful to work for her, but there was a part of her that dreamed of leaving her service for a different life. But she was a prostitute. She doubted that any sort of high class gentleman she had her sights set on would be interested in a girl like her. Ever since she was a little girl, Billie always had plans far grander than that of her class. She was a prostitute with a prostitute for a mother, and no idea who her father was.

"Why don't we see how the night goes?" Billie said with a small smirk. She was good at what she did and she made a lot of money from her services. "Maybe I can get a nice rich man to give us a hefty donation. Wouldn't you like it if I could get you a hefty donation? And you need to have a bit of fun, too. You've been fretting about this party a bit too much."

Allison watched closely as Harvey maintained the steady small smile on his face, but the words he spoke were not as pleasing. Although Allison wasn't necessarily involved in the business as much as she would like to be, she knew well of what the Russell's businesses were, as Harvey spoke of the men mentioning a casino being run by William, Allison pursed her lips in thought. Ollie already had a distaste for the man as it was. Allison had spoke to William a few times before, simple pleasantries that were nothing more than that...but she didn't mind the man, as long as he stuck to his word. Nodding her head, with agreement of giving William the benefit of the doubt, she hoped that this was happening under his nose as well. But she knew how these things went.

"Hmmm. Interesting." She spoke simply as she glanced back to where the two men had parted ways. A small smile played on her own lips as Harvey mentioned not speaking about this until after the event. It was a noble act, for the children of course, as this event was for them, but business never escaped at the table in these events. However, Allison wouldn't tell her brother of anything until after the party was over, respecting the man in front of her to follow his words. "I hope that William knows the risks in crossing my brothers like that...I hope that he is just as oblivious to this." A tone took over her voice, sounding a bit like fear for the man she really didn't have any ties with. She just knew what her brother were capable of, what she was capable of.
