Gang or Mafia Roleplay

Gang:

  • Would take place in a small urban setting. (So basically a small city.)
  • Would start out with two major gangs, and maybe (Depending on number of people) a small police force. Could be corrupt or good.
  • As you go in, You could have three major gangs, and two minor ones.
  • The conflict would be fighting over territory, trying to sell your product on the streets,
  • The two major gangs would start out as rivals.
  • Everyone would make a realistic OC. Race wouldn't matter.
  • Set in present day


Mafia:

  • Would take place in a big metropolitan area. (Chicago, New York.)
  • Starts out with four crime families. There may be one major one that starts out as the powerful one.
  • There would be a (Depending on number of people) police force. It could consist of corrupt cops or good cops.
  • The conflict is to arise as the top family, make alliances, gain territory, sell weapons and drugs, etc.
  • Everyone would make a realistic OC. OC's would mostly be white. (Historical reasons.)
  • Set around 1960


Rules for both would probably be the same.

  1. M +17. RPN rules apply.
  2. No god modding and bunnying.
  3. If you are going to beat someone, don't be too descriptive about it, we don't want to read a whole gore post.
  4. Same thing goes if you want to roleplay yourself using a drug. If your going to O.D or the likes, we don't want a whole post of you slowly dying from it.
  5. For the sake of not offending anyone or getting in trouble, anything such as grape wouldn't be allowed. (You know what I'm talking about.)
  6. Things getting too hot, fade to black.
  7. Characters wouldn't die unless it is essential to the plot, or the person playing the character agree's to it.
  8. No overkill. Ex: John shoots Jim twenty times in the head, and stabs him thirty seven times in the chest. At least give them a chance to recover. Refer to above rule.


Would anyone join this? Does anyone prefer one over the other, or even prefer both? Give me your opinion please.
 
I would be interested in the gang idea. I've been meaning to find something like that.
 
I'm interested in both. Though of course, I'm a bigger fan of the Mafia. However, count me in regardless of which one you end up choosing
