Fandom Game of Thrones - The False House Targaryen

QuirkyAngel

White Masquerade's Blue Oni
The Plot
Winter has finally ended—the longest winter Westeros has ever known. The Whitewalkers are finally defeated, but it came at a terrible price. Many of the primary contenders for the iron throne died in the final battle against the Night King: Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Jamie Lannister, etc. In order to continue the war against Cersei Lannister, Arya Stark takes Daenerys’s face and rallies her army of Dorthraki, unsullied, and a single remaining dragon, to reclaim King’s Landing. With Tyrion Lannister as hand of the Queen and Sansa Stark supporting as the new Lady of Winterfell, ‘Daenerys Targaryen’ succeeds in reclaiming her birthright.

House Targaryen is rebuilt.

The Dragons are back in Westeros.

And, with the return of the dragons, magic thought long lost was steadily returning as well. Westeros has never been more united under the banner of the Mother of Dragons who helped to end the long night and started the conquest of Essos (which her descendants will later continue). Daenerys Targaryen’s true identity as Arya Stark became buried in the drudges of history. A secret kept to maintain the peace of the realm.

At least until a no-named (?) grave robber revealed the truth to all the world. The woman who claimed the iron throne, who worked to unite Westeros and Essos, was naught but a pretender. The real Daenerys Stormborn Targaryen died in the battle against the Whitewalkers. House Targaryen and all their heirs are fakes, more likely to be Starks than any with actual dragon blood.

So…who gets the Iron Throne now?

Crown Prince Seiran Targaryen of the False House Targaryen (who is likely to be a Stark)?

Lyea Snow, who the Free Folk of the North claim to be a descendant of Jon Snow (a Targaryen)?

Khal Makkoi, current leader of the largest Dothraki Horde in Essos who claims to carry the ancestral blood of Khal Drogo, husband of the Great Khaleesi in the West?

Or will others seize the iron chair for themselves? With the integrity of House Targaryen put into question, the right to rule Westeros is once again up in the air. Are you a tool in the game? A player? Someone who renounces the game? Or, do you just want to be king?

About the World/RP
  • This is an AU future of Game of Thrones, so players can create their own House, set with their own sigil and motto if they wish. Or they can play as leaders/members of any of the old houses:
Stark of Winterfell.
Lannister of Casterly Rock.
Arryn of the Eyrie.
Tully of Riverrun.
Greyjoy of Pyke.
Baratheon of Storm's End.
Tyrell of Highgarden.

Players can play anything they wish, to be honest. A slave. A rich merchant. An Assassin. Your characters background doesn’t matter just so long as you create a character that can play the game (of thrones).

  • Dragon-riding is now a profession since Dragons have returned to Westeros. Though most Dragon riders are in the false house Targaryen…because they own most the dragons.
  • The Western Dothraki Army is a thing. Descendants of the Dothraki who followed Daenerys to Westeros, they are also comprised of volunteer Dorthraki from any conquered portion of essos who are willing to travel across the narrow sea to join their Western Khal/Khaleesi in King’s Landing . Currently they serve the false house Targaryen as one of their primary forces. .
  • I’m not too deep in Games of Thrones lore, so I’ll apologize to hardcore fans ahead of time. I just started watching in fact. Though I did see a couple of clips that spoiled stuff so I have a general idea of the events—enough to come up with a premise I want to see expanded on. That’s all I have. So I’m looking for a group of story builders to build the story with me.
  • No limits on npc/character creation. Make as many as you think you can handle. You’re building a house, after all. If your character dies, make another one.

More Rules
  • No godmodding (except the gm).
  • Try not to Mary Sue. Games of thrones has fantasy elements (and I’m adding a bit more) but it’s rooted in realism for the most part. If your character tries to fight a dragon, 9/10 times they’ll die. If they’re surrounded by 10+ soldiers, even a genius swordsman might find a bit of struggle.
  • Interact. Build relationships or have pre-set relationships. The game is based on relationships after all.
  • Respect one another (ooc I mean)
  • Finally, have fun. I don’t have any posting requirements and there’s no required activity. Post whenever you have the time to post. When the urge to write hits you. I’m not a speed poster either and I want this to be a relaxing rp. However, if the one-liners become too common, or the rp comes to a grinding halt, I reserve the right to amend the rules at any time.

If you are interested, have questions, feedback, etc. please comment below. I'm still working out the specifics of the rp, so if you have any ideas to add, feel free to do so.

I'm interested. It's definitely a unique concept. I'd love to reserve House Greyjoy and the Iron Islands.

I'm interested and would like to reserve house Lannister. Is this going to be more along the lines of a little bit of nation building and such?

Not really. When I said 'building a house' I meant more in the lines of creating characters to populate the house rather than expanding territory.

Though...It definitely could be if you guys want it too be^^ Spreading influence, making house alliances, gaining wealth for the house (either through conquest or other means), are certainly all elements of nation-building on a smaller scale.

I was just curious so we would know exactly how far our house can go in war and etc so we have very rough guidelines to go under

Hm, declaring open war on another house is a pretty bold move...though I won't say it's not allowed either

My only rule in fights is that the players involved decide how they want it to end. If they want me to mediate, I'm just going to roll a dice.

Alright fair enough :) tbh I'm thinking on playing on playing more of a Lannister wandering the country like Tyrion did except more warfare oriented

I'm honestly still in the process of designing how this rp will work, so, for all the people interested, and even the people who aren't, would you guys rather everyone claim their own houses and every single member in them or are you okay with letting other players play your character's brother/sister/cousin/etc?

I'm only on season 4 and Tyrion is still just the Master of Coin in King's Landing as far as I'm aware =P Haven't read the book either, which is why I'm going to need plenty of help when it comes to lore and such.

Sounds good to me. A traveling warrior? A traveling arms merchant? A sell-sword? Or just wandering for the sake of wandering?

I imagined more wandering for the sake of wandering. I kinda want to stave off making anything official until I see more of who is playing, and what the RP will focus more on. Eg. Politics, war or etc

Ah, yes! Another GoT RP! May I claim the Stark of Winterfell? And I may know of someone who would also be interested in playing a Stark alongside me!

Sure. Whether the Starks support the crown prince (seeing as he may be of their blood) is something I'm curious about.

Politics. But politics includes a bit of war. As in, the house with a bigger army stands a better chance of winning the chair.

If there's a reason the False House Targaryen still clings to power, it's the dragons.

Great! I'm probably gonna make it where they're supportive only because of blood. They're just trying to keep to themselves at this point.

Already humming the game of thrones theme tune!!

Would love to be a part and to reserve Housr Baratheon if at all possible! Also very happy to help out with any lore, love the books and just working my way through the end of Fire & Blood (great read for some pre main series lore)

Also in answer to the question you posted above, I was planning to play the Lors of the house and more than happy to pick up siblings, relations, hangerons e.t.c for other people to play

Please do.

>Mentioned old magics will be returning.
>Has no idea what the old magics are and will likely be making up my own fantasy sh*t

Ooo! Got an idea, then! Maybe the Stark's find the original Ice? Maybe it's covered in First Men runes and stuff? And it's basically like Valyrian steel?

I got a somewhat interesting idea for a character. Dunno about controlling an entire nation though.

lol. You don't have to if you don't want to. Depends on the type of character you want to make.

This rp is only a little bit nation-buildy and a lot more about interactions and plot.
