"The Lannisters send their regards."
So here is my Game of Thrones search, and it is very particular. I have read books 1-3, and I've seen all the seasons of the show. I pretty much know what's going on from voraciously reading wikipedia articles, and my one true love is the tragedy of House Reyne. So of course, I want to play a Reyne, and I want to play them across from a Lannister.
I also have one loose idea of playing a daughter of Roose Bolton, sibling to Domeric Bolton, as well. Preferably, across from Euron Greyjoy or Yara Greyjoy. Potentially other canons - if you have an interesting idea for this, pitch it! I could see Jon Snow working, or Jaime (Lannister alliance and all), and I'm sure it's possible to figure out ways to get other characters tied together. And yes, doubling is still totally available with the Bolton, and the Reyne. I love doubling.
I'm also open to playing them majorly across from a multiplicity of characters, such as: Tywin Lannister, Jaime Lannister, Oberyn Martell, Yara Greyjoy, Euron Greyjoy, and Roose Bolton,- and yes, the Yara one could be FxF, but any one of these can be variously hate/hate, love/hate, love/love, as I've played with these ideas and characters, some interesting interactions have occurred that make me want to get a feel for how it could go.
I'm all up for doubling on this. This world is huge and vast and you bet I want to play other stories in it, so whatever you're interested in, we should be able to make it work! Lots of fun interactions abound in the world! I am fairly comfortable playing most characters, except Petyr Baelish. He's one I just can't get into or enjoy playing.
So please, browse my thread here, look over my rules, and look over my ideas! Speaking of, my rules are in the next tab. Please read them, there is a code in there. I'm not trying to trick you. It's to our mutual benefit that you read the rules to make sure you understand what I'm looking for, and see if you can match it.
1. Don't God-Mod. In other words, don't make my character speak, don't make my character, don't make my character take damage, and don't control my character. If you want something to go a certain way for plot purposes, just PM me and ask. Usually, I accept "god-modding" during travel and the like. It is usually acceptable to assume movement if a character is already committed to the journey.
2. Please be able to play both genders, and play multiple roles. Your main character(s) may be just male or just female, but I expect all the side characters and NPCs to have life and flavor, too.
3. On the note of characters: I will always play one female character. So, be aware of that. With that said, I usually also always play one male character, and I do MxM, MxF, and FxF pairings, though I prefer MxF.
4. I only RP on threads, (or GDocs in rare cases), so no PM, kik, discord, e-mail, or other rps with me. So that I know you’ve read the rules this far, please tell me about your favorite food!
5. Please be able to write more than a couple of sentences as responses to me. I have tried to do “simple” RPs, but I end up not feeling motivated to respond or continue the RP. I will need you to be able to write a paragraph or two, each post, at least.
6. PM if you are interested. The only reason for you not to PM me is if you cannot do so due to the fact you haven't reached 24 hours/10 posts.
Guidelines:
1. I do not like to be hassled for posts. Especially if I have already posted that day or the day before. Do not bother me for posts until at least two days have passed. Otherwise, I will start to resent our RP and lose interest in it.
2. I enjoy OOC talk, however I will not respond to "hi" or "-poke-" or equivalents. Have substance to the chatter, even if it just asking "How are you?".
3. Do not bump our thread if I have not posted. I will not post out of spite. I have a problem with this, I acknowledge it, I'm not fixing it.
4. On that matter, please keep OOC to PMs and not on our IC thread. IC is for posting. If you have a question, concern, or comment, just shoot me a PM.
5. In general, I do not enjoy immediate romances or "slice-of-life" RPs, so do not come to me expecting I'll do either. I may make rare exceptions.
- Reyne as Farman across Tywin, political marriage?
- Reyne as Hetherspoon, across Jaime.
- Bolton across Euron, playing heavily with the "Bolt-On" theory (tl;dr - Roose is an immortal warg who possesses his sons to keep his life going, Euron is obviously intrigued by immortality).
- Bolton across Yara, hostage situation of Yara wanting her brother back, and they learn they have a common enemy.
- Reyne as Reyne, across Tywin, before the tragedy of Castamere - Roger offers a hostage.
- Bolton across Jaime, post-Red Wedding.
- Bolton across Jon Snow, when he takes over Winterfell and she's called to court at Winterfell.
The daughter of Roger Reyne was sent to be with her mother's relatives, the Farmans, when the war with Tywin began. A little known secret, of course. She was not at Castamere when it fell, but learned the news on the Fair Isles. She heard the minstrel that Tywin sent to give his 'subtle' message about what happened to the disobedient, when it looked like the Farmans might join in the rebellion against him.
She was thus made a daughter of them. It was easy for the Farmans to lie, being off the coast. They adapted her age a bit. They changed her name, and she was raised alongside Jeyne and Sebaston. They tried to convince here not to chase to revenge, but it never quite worked.
With access to the Free Cities through ships and traders, she sought everything, every method, to formulate plots for revenge. A Jill of Many Trades and a Master of None, the young Reyne has been hell for the Farmans to deal with.
Some ideas for her include (and I am up for brainstorming others):
1. During the Greyjoy rebellion, she fought hard to try and reclaim the Red Rain sword from the Drumms, but failed. All she succeeded in doing was earning her freedom from the Farmans. When Sebaston took over, he continued that. When the banners were called by Lord Tywin, Sebaston did not go--he sent Lady Farman as both insult to Tywin and to give her the chance she needed.
a. Addition, could be the Farman is busy harassing the Greyjoys and trying to reclaim Red Rain from House Drumms, but ends up running afoul of the Greyjoys themselves.
2. Or, Lord Tywin sees that the Westerland loyalties need to be solidified, and House Farman has always been an issue. He intends to bring them into the fold through the manueverings of political marriages.
3. With the issues of Westeros dealt with, Lord Tywin has determined that Daenerys is a threat, working alongside his son Tyrion (with the idea Tywin survives) and decides to go overseas to deal with it. The Fair Isles provide the boats and passage, and it is Lady Farman that goes along as translator and navigator through Essos and to Daenerys.
4. Serves Tywin in Robert's Rebellion, either at Storm's End or the Assault on Dragonstone. Not sure on ideas for it, but it seems like it could be fun.
6. Greyjoy Rebellion of 289 AC, after learning of the burning in Lannisport, the Farmans and Stannis join together to push back against the Greyjoys and defeat them once and for all.
5. Your ideas and suggestions!
A Reyne acting as a Hetherspoon would have escaped Castamere. It likely wasn't the plan at first, but the child wanted something dear and couldn't be consoled when the Lannisters were outside, so she ran to get it from the 'safety' of the mines. Then had to hide. Then there was a fire. One thing led to another and the little Reyne got by the guards and ended up on the doorsteps of the Hetherspoons.
She was taken in as a bastard, given the name 'Hill', and was raised alongside Melara. Yet, when Melara was killed while away with Cersei--a hostage because the Hetherspoons had issues with the Lannisters--the Hill became a Hetherspoon and raised as a proper, noble, lady.
Some ideas for her include (and I am up for brainstorming others):
1. She learned to run her piece of the world. She learned the skill of a maester more than anything and prayed for the day she would be able to poison Lord Tywin Lannister. Robert's Rebellion came and went. The War of the Five Kings came, and she went to support the Westerlands as a medic, which has placed her into the Westerland camps. A bannerwoman. A medic. A Reyne. Could end up in Tywin's camp. Could be one of those at Harrenhal.
2. Or perhaps, she avoided that fuss and has gotten mixed up in the issues following the Red Wedding. In Tywin's need to grasp his own lands firmly, he is looking upon Nobles that were previously outside of his good graces, and is now looking to solidify his hold on his land, and his allies, by maneuvering his vassals into agreeable marriages, and she's gotten mixed up in one of those arrangements.
3. There is also the possibility that the Hetherspoon woman became Cersei's "Lady in Waiting" after Melara, when Cersei was Queen, and she's simply been biding her time. So when Tywin comes to King's Landing as Hand of the King, she now has opportunities to begin interacting and working on a good way to poison that Hand...
4. In the midst of the War of the Five Kings, the woman decides to stop hiding. She groups with those who do not like the Lannisters in the West, and starts a Civil War, joining one of the other "Kings" and making it clear that she is a Reyne, and intends to bring down Tywin Lannister with her newfound allies.
5. Before Robert's Rebellion, she goes to King's Landing as Queen Rhaella's Handmaiden, in order to get close to Tywin, who is serving as Hand of the King. She was newly made a Hetherspoon, after Melara drowned at the tournament for Viserys's name day.
6. After Robert's Rebellion, she is present as a medic in Tywin's camp, and is assisting the various injured soldiers, and present for the chaos of changes that are occuring rapidly now that the Mad King is dead.
7. Your ideas and suggestions!
Roger Reyne has decided to acquiesce to Tywin's demands - or at least give the illusion of it. He has decided to give his daughter as 'hostage' for the debt they owe, the way other families in the West are doing so. Yet, this is only to buy time until he can strike at Tywin and take over the West. His daughter is aware of his intentions, and goes to the Lannisters.
Because I do like doubling, here are some of the canons I know would be alive then: Kevan Lannister, Tygett Lannister, Roger Reyne, Reynard Reyne, Ellyn Tarbeck (depending), Barristan Selmy, Jaeherys Targaryen, Aerys Targaryen, Stafford Lannister. I am for adapting some ages and twisting some things, since this would be a bit AU-ish.
Her options include:
1. The initial meeting, the arrival of the Reyne to Casterly Rock as hostage of the Lannisters for the Reyne debt. We could begin here and see how things go.
2. Ellyn Tarbeck refuses to offer any hostage for the debt, and does not heed her brother. We could start with this conflict rising and the actions of the various parties.
3. Post-Castamere. The Reynes and Tarbecks rise up, and Tywin has eliminated them...leaving the hostage. We would play out what happens to the last Reyne this time, and how the relationship with the Lannisters play out now, if they were on good terms or bad terms before that incident.
4. AU where the Reynes aren't all destroyed and this takes place in the Game of Thrones book/series timeline. We could discuss what happened with the Reynes instead.
5. Your ideas!
Roose Bolton had his son, Domeric Bolton, but he also had a daughter. Not a great threat to Ramsay, so generally left alone, even if she is every bit as cunning. She took her father's words, and generally believes that a quiet people makes for the best rule. Some of the "Old Ways" she does not agree with, since they too obviously favor the men - like the Lord's Night. Why no Lady's Night? Of course, she does not say such things aloud.
She knows how to keep things...quiet. Relatively.
Then Ramsay goes and messes everything up, and when he is legitimized, she begins to plot the best way to get rid of him, and maintain her hold on the Dreadfort, and the North. Unfortunately, Ramsay's actions against the Greyjoys cause some...issues.
Here are some ideas for her, and I'm open to new ones!
1. Left at the Dreadfort to maintain watch over it, the fort is unfortunately not well guarded as Ramsay Snow took the majority of their forces to Winterfell. Still, she doesn't suspect much trouble...until Yara Greyjoy thinks that the best way to get her brother back is to try the same tactic, unaware there's no love between the two siblings.
2. With Roose returning to the North and legitimizing Ramsay, while keeping to Winterfell, his daughter maintains watch of the Dreadfort, and tries to continue removing the Ironborn forces from the North. Unfortunately, Euron Greyjoy seems to end up in charge of the Iron Isles during these times, and is able to turn the tides in their favor.
3. Rather than see issues with the Greyjoys, the Bolton woman is called to Winterfell by Jon Snow. Supposedly to see how innocent she is of her family's crimes, and determine what to do now with her and the Dreadfort.
4. Game of Thrones, Season 1-ish time period. Roose Bolton sent his daughter to be with the Starks to help keep her safe from his bastard, Ramsay. She goes with the Stark girls to King's Landing, or perhaps remains in the North - up for discussion!
5. Rather than go see Jon Snow, the Bolton turns to the Lannisters to try and reclaim the North. Perhaps Jaime is able to march up to assist, or joins Euron on the sea to meet them up there, but this time, the Lannisters actually do move to help tame the North, before the Starks can solidify their hold on it.
6. Your ideas!
