"After all this time?"/"Always"
Amy Lovegood
NAME: Amelia Julie Lovegood
AGE: 23
GENDER: Female
OCCUPATION: Amelia (known as Amy to her friends) works as a DJ, but works part-time as a waitress.
APPEARANCE: Amelia has dark brown, curly hair, which is done up in a half afro. When down, it is extremely short, and doesn't even go down to her shoulders. That's why she usually has it in an afro. Her eyes are also dark brown, slightly lighter than her hair. They might just look big because of her glasses, but they are still big, nevertheless. Her skin is a light shade of brown, as she is originally from Africa. However, her skin has become lighter from when she was a kid, as she has lived in England for most of her life.
She does use makeup, but some is more visible than others. Her cheeks are usually cherry red, thanks to plenty of blusher. Her lips are much lighter than her skin, but still brown. However, they aren't naturally this color. Without lipstick, her lips are slightly darker than her skin. She uses bright pink nail vanish that doesn't at all go with her completion, but who cares? She a DJ for crying out loud!
CASUAL ATTIRE: Amy usually wears a white top with no sleeves. There is a bow at the top of it, and pink sparkles here and there. It gies down to her belly button, which leaves the rest of the top half the body showing. She owns quite a few of these types of tops, each one with a different pattern is sparkles. She also has a few pink sleeveless tops, exactly the same as the white, but with white sparkles instead of pink. With those tops, she wears blue skinny jeans and golden sandals. She has black, square glasses which she needs to see.
JEWELLERY/MARKINGS/SCARS: Amy has silver earrings, embedded with a small pearl. While she has no scars or any other jewellery, she has a birth mark on her right knee in the same of a cross.
Music doesn't go through one ear and out the other - it flows through your heart. Amy |
STRENGTHS:
~Amy is optimistic, which means, no matter how bad the situation, she won't give up or cry in frustration. It also means she will always look on the bright side, so she will always be motivated to continue solving a puzzle or fighting.
~Even if she isn't the type of girl who would start a fight, Amy sure can throw a good punch. Since her father forced her to take karate classes, she has strengthened her arms, so her punch's can get you on the ground, or even knock you out if she hits you hard enough.
WEAKNESSES:
~Being optimistic, Amy prefers not to fight because she believes that there is always an easier way to get out. However, when she tries to reason with the enemy, she often finds herself in more trouble, and makes it harder to get out of the situation.
~Despite being fast at dancing, Amelia is slow at running. Sure, she can bust a move on the dancefloor, but on the field? Nah ah. She has absolutely no athletic abilities at all (apart from punching, which is mentioned above).
FEARS:
~Dolls
~Silence
~Her family leaving
~Daddy longs legs (those horrible flying spiders)
PERSONALITY: Amelia is an optimistic, music loving DJ. She is always happy, no matter how bad the situation. Of course, she might get abit sad if someone dies, but other than that, she is always happy. She tends to think of every single way that things could go right, but overlooks the flaws in her plan. Same with other people: she finds every single good thing in a person, but completely forgets about what they can't do or struggle to do.
One things for sure: Amy couldn't love without music. For starters, her job involves finding the best songs, putting them onto a playlist and playing the playlist at a party. But that's not the point. What is the point? The point is, music is her life. She gets extremely nervous if there are no sounds around her. Heck, she is afraid of not being able to hear anything. Music can calm her down or get her hyped up. It makes her willing to go on, even if her optimistic side is turned off.
One more thing: Amy is a social butterfly. With the amount of parties she goes to, she has to be, right? She can talk to people non-stop, no matter what the conversation is. Want someone to fangirl with? She'll talk to you! Want to share your nerdy little dreams? Amy is the girl to share them with! Going out every night is just how Amy lived. Who cares if you have loads of work to do? You have a party to be at! I guess that also makes her abit of a procrastinator... Yay?
BACKGROUND: Amelia was born in Africa on the 13th April 1992. She never knew her mother, as she died of childbirth. However, her father had always been there for her. His name was Pablo Lovegood, and he was the best father you could ask for. Kind, gentle, a little p protective, but still allows you to do whatever you want. Yep, that pretty much sums him up. Anyway, they lived in a part of Africa that wasn't poor, a part which actually had food and water. I guess this makes Amy extremely lucky, but she didn't realise at the time. Besides, she moved to England before she could understand any of that stuff.
On the 15th July 1994, when Amy was only 2 years old, her and her father moved to England. Why? Amy never knew. Her father never told her. They lived in a small village near London, which was just right for the two to live. There wasn't many people, and those who did live there knew everyone else. It was a 15 minutes drive to London, so there was no need to go miles away just to sightsee. They had London to explore! Amy went to the local academy, which every child in the village went to. It was for children aged 3 to 18, then they could move onto college or university in London if they wanted to.
And so, Amelia went through school and got good grades. Sure, she wasn't the best at school, but she left with a solid C in her GCSEs, and an A* in music. She had always loved music, and was always listening to it, no matter where she was. All she needed was her headphones and her MP3 player. All was well. She knew how to defend herself, as she took karate classes from the age of 10 go 16. Not that she wanted to, her father forced her.
When she turned 18, she graduated from school and went straight on to creating her own business. She had always known in her heart that she wanted to have a job in music, and what better way to do that other than to become a DJ? She began to run disco's, and made abit of money. However, she realised that it wasn't enough. So she got a job as a waitress in a local cafe. There, she earned abit more money, just enough to buy her own apartment and live a good life. To bad it had to end.
On the 18th August 2015, Amelia was running a disco, and things didn't quite go as planned. It went downhill right from the start, when one of her speakers broke, and smoke began to spill out. It was quickly moved, but by the time she came back, the other speaker had caught fire. She panicked, and tried to cover it with a cloth. Of course, that only made things worse. The building caught on fire, and Amelia couldn't get out. As soon as the speaker had caught fire, everyone had rushed out the building and locked it, so the fire couldn't get outside. As much as she screamed for help, nobody came. Eventually, the building began to fall down, and a piece of wood dropped down from the ceiling and hit her. She slowly died in the smoke, ending her life forever... Or did it end?
WRITING SAMPLE: Memories from years ago flashed through her mind. First, the excitement from arriving at Hogwarts. Then, the nervous feeling from waiting to be sorted. After that, the frightening moment of being sorted. Finally, the relief of being put into Ravenclaw. All her life had been living up to that moment, all her life she had been reading up on everything there was to know. Jet parents didn't care. They just left her. But she always knew in her heart that Hogwarts would take her in, and give her the life she deserved. All her family had been in Slytherin, so it didn't feel right being a Ravenclaw. Then again, it wouldn't feel right being a Slytherin.
Perhaps it was destiny or fate, but Julie had always known that this day would come, and it wouldn't go well. Her OWLs. She looked in the mirror one final time. Her auburn hair was brushed to perfection, not a single hair out of place. Her emerald green eyes were sparkling in the light, and matched her pale skin and orange freckles just right. If she got this day wrong, her entire life would change. But it wasn't going to be easy...
She left the dorm, went straight through the common room and rushed through the hallways, down to the Great Hall. Her first exam was Defence Against the Dark Arts, a practical. To be honest, she wasn't that enthusiastic. Magic theory? Easy. But actual spells? Julie struggled at that. She met her friends, Agi and Finn, just by the door. In a few moments, Julie would enter the hall and begin her exam. Butterflies were flapping their wings way to much in her stomach. Questions were buzzing through he brain at lightning speeds, like when a bee finds the perfect flower. There was no turning back now, she had to go in.
With help of Agatha and Finnly, Julie opened the gigantic door. The tables and chairs had been moved to one side, leaving a massive space in the centre of the room. Children were sitting at the side, waiting to be examined. Everything seemed normal, just like the years before, until you saw the examiners. Death Eaters were scattered around room, patiently awaiting their next victim, smiling cruelly at the unfairness of the test. If a Slytherin came, they would make sure the grades were as high as possible. If a Gryffindor came, they would make sure they failed. Ravenclaws who had just finished the test were crying their hearts out, furious at the low score. Slytherins were high fiving each other, bragging about their 'excellent' abilities.
Julie silently sat down and waited to be called up. She was even more nervous than before, now that she had seen what could happen. Finally, she was called up. It was just so unfair! Ever since Dumbledor- She couldn't finish that sentence. Hogwarts had just gone downhill ever since Snape took over. Disapline had just turned into straight out punishment. Lessons had been turned into a blood bath.
Finally, Julie was called up. She didn't recognised the examiner, but she knew he would be strict, and probably give the worst possible grades.
"Name?"
"Julie Rose Johnson."
"House?"
"Ravenclaw."
He grunted and scribbled something down on a piece of paper. The first thing he asked Julie to do was the Crusiartist Curse. She refused. He asked again. She refused. No matter how many times he asked, Julie refused. Eventually, he just brought out his wand and spoke that unforgivable word: "Crucio!"
Pain rushed through her body as fell to the floor. Nothing could describe her experience, because anyone else who had felt as much pain she did on the day would be dead. Nobody could feel enough sympathy for her, as nobody had survived the horror. Everything went by in a blurred flash, then there was darkness, and all hope was gone.
