Fukurou Academy for the Gifted lies in expansive grounds at the top of Mt. Fukurou. It is surrounded by a densely packed forest and a thick fence with only a single gated entrance. Out of this entrance comes a single, long winding road that leads down the mountain and to the town on one side and the ocean that the school overlooks on the other. The locals of this twin, called Minton, avoid the mountain in belief that it is supernatural. A large amount of owls, for which the mountain is named, prowl the forest, even during the day, and rumors abound about strange creatures and sounds. The school does nothing to negate these rumors with its strict no visitor policy and tall, almost mansion - like buildings. These buildings include the Main Building, the Dorms, the Green House, the Headmistress ' s House, the Garage, and the Gymnasium with the area around them dotted with sports fields, a pool, a garden, a park, and even a lake.
This is the first building students see upon entrance. About eight stories tall, it looks more like a mansion than a school building. The first floor is dedicated to offices, the cafeteria, the school's kitchen, and the auditorium. The offices include Student Services (which is where students can ask for tutors, customize schedules, request a room change, register new clubs, and make copies), teacher's offices (each with their own office hours to help students), Administration (which is in charge of the day to day workings of the school), and the Headmistress ' s office (also with office hours). The Auditorium is huge, large enough for almost the entire school to fit on stage and almost twice to fill the seats. The back wall of the stage opens up to reveal where the drama department constructs it's sets with large roll up doors to bring supplies in from outside. On each side of the stage lies a dressing room and waiting area. The Cafeteria has buffet - type food available for breakfast (5 am-9am), lunch (11am-2pm), and dinner (4pm- 8 pm), cooked in the kitchens only open to staff and the students of the Cooking Class and / or Club only if accompanied by a teacher. If a student does not like the food offered by the cafeteria, they can go to the School's Cafe on the second floor. Students can pay for various meals that change daily unlike the Cafeteria where food remains constant and free. Also on the second floor is the Infirmary, Library, and School Store. The Infirmary is a large room with various medical equipment with a total of ten beds that can be curtained off for privacy. This Infirmary is available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to the staff and students. They nurse resides in an apartment neighboring the room, always ready to help. The Library is extensive with rows upon rows of bookshelves. A librarian desk sits by the door where students can turn in and check out books, search for books, and ask for help. Other desks are scattered throughout the room where students can sit and read or study. The Student Store is where students can buy a variety of things they need while living on campus like food, clothes, toiletries, and much more. The third, fourth, and fifth floors are dedicated to classrooms and clubs room with a teacher's lounge on every floor. The sixth and seventh floor hold science labs, art rooms, computer labs, and music rooms. The eighth floor and towes are mainly used for storage except for a large room toward the center specially designed to be used for astronomy.
Connected to the Main Building by a covered pathway lies the Gymnasium. It is surrounded by multiple sports fields, including a baseball field, football field, tennis court, track, a training course, and even a swimming pool. The gym itself is made of two stories, one below ground. The ground floor holds a combination volleyball and basketball court with another room dedicated to an indoor swimming pool. Below ground is a training room filled with a multitude of workout equipment. In the center of the room rests The Cage. This enclosed fighting arena is used for powers training. No one is allowed to fight without a teacher present and no one is allowed to fight outside The Cage. It is is also magically powered so that the combatant 's powers cannot spill outside its boundaries.
Outside Pool with connected locker rooms with showers and bathrooms
Inside swimming pool, also with connected locker rooms, bathrooms, and showers.
The students' Dorm reaches five stories tall. The first floor is dedicated to a student's lounge (with a TV, game system, chairs , desks, and computers), a mini-library, and a laundry room on each side. The second and fourth floors hold the girls' rooms while the third and fifth have the boys'. Each apartment has a total of four bedrooms and bathrooms with a common living room, dining room, and kitchen. Floors two through five each have one apartment for RAs (with four RAs per floor).
The teachers' Dorm is only one floor and co-ed. Each apartment only has one bedroom instead of four.
The Greenhouse is surrounded by a garden, a third dedicated to herbs and medicine, a third to fruits and vegetables, and a third to flowers. Inside is much the same, though also with storage for gardening tools. It neighbors the park.
The Headmistress ' s House is a quaint cottage - like home covered in flowers and vines. Rumors abound about the inside, but as no one has seen the inside, they will remain rumors.
The Garage is where students and staff who have bought cars to the school keep their vehicles. It is also where the Autoshop Class/Club work on old cars.
Minton rests at the base of Mt. Fukurou and though rather small, it is not without its attractions. It neighbors the beach and is a little known summer getaway. In the center of town lies a multiple story mall with a multitude of stores, nearly anything you can imagine. There is a couple of other shops around the outside of town, including an arcade, a flowershop, a karaoke lounge, and a small popular restraint called "Sunshine 's" . There are also a couple of bars for the adults.
