Friends list or players to watch out for?

So I was thinking, why not have a friends list function? I mean I have followers, but I don't really like to follow others, I'm not one for having my notifs blown up. So would it be possible to have a friends list function as well so I can friend someone without having to follow them or have them follow me?

Maybe yes?

I think the point behind the follow function was to follow those your working on RPs with.  I only follow my partners for the most part.  This way if they need to get a message out to all their partners quickly, I'll get a notif for it.  I try not to post too meany statues, mostly because I also dislike getting my notifs blown up.  What I don't understand is when someone I've never so much as spoken to and do not plan to ever work with decideds to follow me while my partners choose not to.

Maybe break down followers into two groups?

RP Partners: People you RP with, you will get a notification from them if they post in a RP you are part of?

Friends: People you don't necessary RP with but still talk to.

Yes I like that idea, not too crazy about the rp partner function though, sometimes I'll get stuck in an rp with people I don't like rping with

i agree i mean the beeps do startle me a bit when im drawing or in a jam fest but its just my pals way of saying 'chrissy come back to earth and post already' and im like 'okay'

I agree! This would be very useful.

Literally my work around for the friends list function is writing down the names of the People I consider my friends, sometimes I lose that list and have to find it, it would just be nice to have a little task bar that has people I friended, I mean literally they don't even need to be people I rp with

Is there a option to choose what you get notification for? If not there should be so I don't wake up in the morning and have 20 notifications with 18 of them being status updates from the same person.

I think it's onyour notification settings

I think it would be handy for the purposes of quickly seeing which of your partners are online. I think we had something like that before, but I haven't seen one here. Of course, a person could easily choose to remain anonymous, but it could still be useful. It might also be nice if we could choose which parts of our friends' activity we received notifs for (So, maybe for their roleplay posts, but not in the Forum Games section), but I'm not sure how that could be implemented.

Personally, I mostly only follow people I want to be able to find easily, like somebody who has been gone for a long time and I'd like to know if they return or someone I'm roleplaying with and having issues with my notifs otherwise. That seems to work well for me, but it might not for anyone else.

That could be useful, though I don't need it to know if they're online or not, I just want it as a literal list of friends, I sign in anonymously specifically for the reason of making sure people aren't keeping tabs on my where abouts.
