A note on the image: This was commissioned artwork I had done a long while back, years ago now - and I thought she'd be a lovely basis for Freya - obviously I envisage her a little curvier and built now, but the face is still there. The clothes were meant to be old-timey by the way, just in case it you think it doesn't suit the sci-fi world (which it doesn't aha)
Height: 5 foot 4 inches
Weight: 145lbs
Body: For her height, she has a decent athletic build and curves that refuse to melt away despite the training
Complexion: Pale
Hair: Long bronze-blonde hair, thick, prefers to wear it in one long braid but loves the opportunity to wear it down.
Face: Rounded, soft features, full lips
Eyes: Greyish-blue
Other: Her dominant hand is her left; though she is able to use both due to long hours of training to convert her to her right hand, she is still more capable with her left, though left-handedness is associated (strangely) with the Dark Side
Positive traits: Compassionate, determined, optimistic, diplomatic, fast learner, loves to laugh, deeply affectionate although she never gets to show it
Negative traits: Sensitive, often wears emotions on her sleeve, struggles with decision-making outside of the heat of a moment, naive
Habits: Goes silent if she becomes upset (to avoid the embarrassment of crying), often leans her face against her hand when sitting
Likes: Hot drinks, sifting through the archive for interesting information, temperate weather, swimming, vast coastlines, being praised, being around people who indulge in sharing humour, speaking with the younglings
Dislikes: Extreme weather, going without food, getting something wrong, feeling unhelpful, the restrictions on emotion the Jedi Order persist upon, cruelty (especially towards children)
Fears: Confined spaces, the dark
Rank: Padawan
Colour of lightsaber: Arctic blue
Forms of combat known: Forms III, IV and V
Force sensitivity: Strong, in combat she likes to rely on her Force powers just as much as her saber
Strengths: She knows she's capable of cutting down enemies; able to concentrate when needed, always willing to learn
Weaknesses: Lacks in the more physical side combat simply due to her size in the face of other opponents, but the force can often carry her through; she still allows emotions to play in the back of her mind, and struggles with the morality of killing even when she needs to
Freya was born on the plane Riosa, located in the Inner Rim. She lived with her mother, father and three other siblings. The family were located within the large industrial slum that developed behind the grand factories and away from the dwellings of the dubious factory owners/managers. Although her childhood was tough, she still has fond memories of them travelling through the forests to reach great lakes with other working families, where they would spend their very occasional days off sitting on the sandy/pebbly edge of the water and having a swim. Both her parents worked within one of the large munitions factories as machine operators; while some droids did work amongst the humans, it was far cheaper for the factory owners to use underpaid human labour than to order the latest droids. The factories went against a plethora of safety guidelines, but owners were able to bribe emerging Separatist leaders with good deals to keep the Republic eyes averted.
Children were often used to crawl in between the machinery to access hard-to-reach wiring; their parents were so reluctant to put their children forward due to danger of the activity, that factory owners just chose children randomly to learn the skills to fulfil this role; if parents refused, they'd lose their jobs. At the age of five, Freya was chosen, and subsequently taught how to use specific tools to fix a variety of issues and put to work on the factory floor. It was only when she was amidst the machinery that her Force-sensitivity begin to reveal itself; the complete fear of her surroundings helped guide her to the problem, and helped her sense areas of danger to avoid sustaining injuries. However, she witnessed the death of one of her friends at age six, which has lingered in her head ever since.
Her apparent natural skill was exploited, she worked longer hours than any other child on the factory floor and was screamed at constantly for not doing the job quick enough, and with this came growing frustration. This frustration finally displayed itself with a show of the Force; hitting the factory foreman over the head with a wrench and knocking him out cold...which she had done with her mind. This revelation stunned the factory workers, especially her parents - who promptly whisked her away from the scene and were able to send a message out to the Jedi Council. While approaching seven years old, a couple of years older than the cut-off range, Master Yoda still took her on; taking pity for the situation of the family.
Freya was carted off to Coruscant. Her training promptly began, and she started to flourish. She was able to catch up remarkably quickly, and at the age of thirteen, was able to be put forward for someone to select her as a Padawan. Master Seger Pasflo (a Consular) who had just finished training his previous Padawan with great success, decided to take her on. The two had a very typical Master/Padawan relationship; one of mutual respect and trust. He fulfilled a fatherly role, offering her his guidance when he could. His interests lay more in the archives, and she learnt the art of patience when she wanted nothing more than to wield her lightsaber and use the force to pick things up. She grew to enjoy the archives more as she matured, and began to relish in the quiet moments. Master Pasflo often used positive encouragement, hesitant to scorn his Padawan for her mistakes - when he did become frustrated with her it unsettled Freya, her sensitivity showing in those moments. However, she did act upon criticism, wanting to be praised and wanting to improve. Her Master managed to locate her family after a conversation between himself and Freya about their well-being; he was able to tell her that the family had got themselves off Riosa and were living a new, more stable life - this put her mind at ease greatly, though she still craves to see them again.
The two had gone on a few adventures together, being assigned tasks by the Order as trouble across the galaxy began to increase. Master Pasflo's role was largely a diplomatic one, he was renowned for tactical reasoning. However, a skirmish broke out during a diplomatic mission which became for more dangerous than Master Pasflo could have expected. In an attempt to by his Padawan time to get to the ship, he found himself overrun. He had even managed to reach the ships' ramp, dragged aboard by Freya and she frantically took off to escape the danger. His injuries proved fatal, dying before they could make it back to Coruscant. It has been about six months, Freya finding solace in the quiet of the archives and occasionally receiving guidance from the council. She has learnt to smile fondly on his memory, though she still feels his loss. Luckily, the Council, after giving her time to grieve, has managed to find someone to take over her teachings.
