Fantasy Fractured Realm: The Mind of Man

Hello.

I am planning on creating an anything goes-esque roleplay, where the participants are residing in the mind of a person, referred to as the "host."

Every day, a "world-wide" event will occur, ranging from fairly mundane to very significant, which helps shape a world that otherwise tends to become a chaotic mess with these anything goes RP's.

Your actions affect both the residents and the host very directly, and actions can be directed at the host, as they are technically an entity.

The RP will follow the life of the host from a young child to an elder, and their life, personality, etc. will be molded by the things done by those who reside in his mind, although if this idea is not appealing, I'd love some input.

I genuinely love this idea; just needs a bit more detail.
Oh, of course. I plan on developing it more when we actually get started. This is just an outline to see if people are interested in this.

Also, how do you feel about the idea of following the host through his/her life?

I feel this might drift focus towards developing the host and away from the participants themselves, although whether this is good or bad is up for debate.

If I don't go with this choice, it will only focus on a small sliver of the host's adult life, and naturally have somewhat less focus on the host.

I see.

So are our characters like thoughts, or are they emotions ? Do they know they exist in The Host's mind ? Can they physically affect The Host ? Do they affect his thoughts, emotions ? Does the Host himself affect said characters ? Does he manipulate the world with his thoughts ? Do they have any means of seeing or hearing or feeling what The Host can ? Do said characters and The Host have any means of communicating with each other ? Who is this Host ?

So many questions, god damn it !

Who the host is? In time, my friend. I believe the host will be shaped more by the participants than me!

The characters represent many things. They can represent the thoughts of the host, thoughts that arose from other thoughts, or external entities, like demons or spirits, although I might omit these supernatural elements. Characters representing emotions are almost always one-dimensional, so I will make that an element not represented with participants, but one that influences the participants in some regard. The characters are aware of their existence in the host's mind.

The host doesn't know these characters are sentient or really exist. He affects them indirectly through thinking about them, like imagining the same characters in a movie frequently, and things that happen to him. Should he experience brain damage, for example, certain characters could be severely wounded, and everyone would be affected. If he sits down and ponders on something for long enough, it will take on a form in his mind. Simple, passing thoughts, like eating an average meal, will not get a being or substance associated with them.

These characters can influence the host directly, but often influence the host indirectly through their day-to-day actions. Directly interacting with the host is ill-advised. They do not experience what the host sees directly, but rather feel the effects of this. Let's say the host sees a beautiful river that fills them with awe, and he is just completely awestruck by this river for a week. This might make the river itself appear in the world. Should the host witness a murder, the characters might experience great turmoil in some regard, such as storms or diseases arising, and possibly caused irreversible damage to both the host and those residing in their mind.

Do keep in mind that there are some elements outside of both the host's and the participant's realm of control. The host is shaped by what they learn in the real world, as well as what their thoughts promote in them. The host, for example, might develop some shyness if experiencing frequent humiliations. If severe enough, the participants can do very little or even nothing to stop the host from developing such traits.

I will develop this idea further. You seem quite interested!

What about 'the voice inside your head' ? Does it take a form as well ?

Indeed, I do ! I think it's because I believe that that's what we are, in some way.
