Nathaniel's fears weren't misplaced as Captain Beacon seemed to not like him already and he could feel the cold sweat breaking out of his body. He managed to stand his ground but anyone with two functional eyes and knew him for more than two days would realize that he was shaking. Facing beasts were far easier than facing such confidently strong people - at least it was easier to escape beasts whose concerns were mostly territorial based. His nervousness was eased by the other person - Elijah - as she waved at him and he gave a small smile back with a small bow of his head.
Howard smirked beside Vier, tilting his head ever so slightly to her and Vier looked pleased. "A ship that can fly and go underwater? You really didn't spare any expense." The mercenary commented, a smile now on his face as she gained a deeper appreciation for the vessel. She doubted anyone would think of this being a waste of money - if they are able to get their hands on artefact, then every expense spent on the voyage will be justified. An artefact is worth multiple ships just like these. Especially this one.
As the captain readied the sails, Nathaniel breathed easy and had retreated back - idly looking around. Vier turned to Wysteria as she gave the final question and the mercenary smiled. "I never break my contract. And neither do my companions."
They were always in danger no matter what happened anyway. If there was a possibility for her rank to go up among the organization and have a bit more renown, that would go a long way for Vier. More quests to come in meant more money or experience - sometimes, they might even give her and her group something more than just money. Items. Land. Magic. No matter what, everything would be worth it if they finish this quest alive. She just hoped that they all came out of it very much alive.
Vier turned to Elijah with a smile, unreadable at first but there was a hint of confidence in her. They were cut from the same cloth after all - any mercenary is not afraid of death. If they were, they wouldn't be in this profession.
