isn't that a little derivative?

Hi! Digital Witness here! I'm new to this site, but not at all new to roleplaying.
I have approximately 10 years of experience over a number of different sites.
I'm a 24 year old female living in the EST timezone.
Due to my age I only feel comfortable roleplaying with users who are 18+, sorry!
I work full-time, and though my free time will be limited on work days, I will do my
best to reply at least once a week or more depending on muse & post length.
I'm not sure how word count is treated here, but it was important on other sites
I generally post anywhere between 800 - 2k words per post (depending on muse),
but would love something a bit more casual for my time here.
I generally play female characters with realistic faceclaims (again... not sure how that's treated here)
and they generally fall somewhere on the LGBT+ spectrum, but i'm fine with mxf as well.
With all of that said, I'll cut right down to the nitty gritty...
To get a vibe for what I like, my interests are as follows:
( * Note: I rarely role-play canon characters, but am open to inserting ocs into some of the listed universes * )
Video Games : The Last Of Us & Until Dawn
Movies : Pan's Labyrinth, The Blair Witch Project, The Belko Experiment,
Irreplaceable You, & The Descent
Television : Orphan Black, Person Of Interest, & Hannibal
Other Ideas :
- Post Apocalyptic. Something loosely based off of The Last Of Us / The Road / Carriers.
Involving a pair or group of survivors struggling to make it in their own after an infection
has wiped out most of the earth's population. Antagonists could include infected persons
( zombie-like symptoms ), or hostile groups of survivors otherwise known as Hunters who track
down and kill fellow survivors for their supplies and food. A possible twist that we could
incorporate could be that one of the survivors is immune and winds up being bitten by
one of the infected. Their partner / the rest of their group obviously won't know that they're
immune ( nor will the person who was bitten ) and it makes for a tense number of hours or days
while they wait for symptoms to begin to show and have to decide on the best course of action.
- Slow Burn. Character A and Character B have been best friends since they were children.
They've been by each others' sides through good times and bad; through heartbreak and newly-budding
relationships. During a seemingly innocent interaction something changes inside of
Character A and they realize that they have feelings for Character B ( and possibly that they've had them
all along ), but opt not to tell them in favor of keeping their friendship intact. This results in months
of unrequited pining on part of Character A until one day, seemingly out of the blue, they can't deny their feelings
any longer and kiss Character B, forever changing the nature of their lifelong friendship as they know it.
- First Meeting / Slice of Life. Character A is the newest tenant in the apartment building where Character B has
lived for years. The building is old and the locks are finicky and Character A spots Character B struggling to open
their door and steps in to help. A friendship forms between them that eventually sparks into romance.
- A N G S T. Seriously... give me all the angst. I live for it. I rarely stick with anything that doesn't have
at least a little bit of angst incorporated into the plot.
So yeah... This got really long, but here you go.
I'm open to more than what is listed here, but this is just a general idea of what I'm looking for.
I'd love to hear your ideas! And I'm happy to provide a writing example if needed!
