Veda was sly and calculating, using her words as a weapon often unlike her equally calculating yet quieter twin. The girls had learned how to be tough over their years and both showed it through the way they went about the world. She often times went out of her way to push people away out of protection for herself and her sister.

Veda and her sister were infants when they were placed into the foster system and given the last name of "Smith" as they were left on some poor saps doorstep. Ever since then the two had been tossed from shitty home to shitty home. There were some good ones mixed in there from time to time but it never seemed to matter, eventually they too got tired of the twins and their weirdness that seemed to surround the girls. Strange things had always followed them from tiny house fires to floods coming from no where. Their agency called them the bad luck twins, not to their face obviously but it wasn't hard to hear the social workers behind their thin doors.

The two had been with probably the shittiest family of them all when they turned 18 and aged out of the system, resulting in being basically homeless for a few weeks and couch hopping between some friends apartments. Eventually the two saved up enough money for the saddest little apartment in the city and made life work. Veda could never find a real job so she made her half the rent by selling the jewelry she made at farmers markets around the area and convincing the men in her life to buy the girls nice things that she turned around and sold on EBay.

Life went on like that for three years, they didn't really have any close friends or relationships beyond one another. Veda was content with that, people sucked and she had no desire to surround herself with more. However apparently that plan wasn't in the stars for her when suddenly a weird dude in uniform was at her door and coercing the twins to follow him.

Vesta tends to be quiet more often than not. It's not that she's not paying attention, it's just that she doesn't care. She has very little interests that she cares to she with others besides her sister. She's quiet, calculating, but if one does entice words out of her they're most likely not going to be anything nice. After being in 50+ foster homes she lost her faith in humanity and doesn't care for anyone but her sister.

You know what the saying is, you're born alone and you die alone. Only, Vesta was born with Veda. It was the two of them versus the world every since they were born, being tossed into foster home to shittier foster homes. No one keeps you for long when the house either catches on fire or floods, and that seemed to be the story in every single home they ever lived in. Everyone always looked at them... different, even the social workers talked about them behind those thin doors at the agency.

They didn't have much when they turned 18, but the little things the girls had was lost when they were kicked out of the last home. Thankfully Veda had a few friends they crashed at occasionally, but other than that? They didn't have a place to call their own. No home, no family, it was just the two of them like it had always been.

The two of them struggled to meet ends meet and Vesta never could keep a job. So... Vesta pickpocketed. Stole anything she could get her hands on, even learned to lockpick some of the surrounding apartments just to steal electronics. She would find shady dealer in the dead of night to sell the goods to, and eventually the girls were able to afford their own apartment. It was just a one bedroom on the shittiest side of town, but it had a balcony where Vesta could garden in a few different planters. It also had a small fireplace that she would sleep by more often than not.

She was more than content living life like that with her sister. Even when the weird guy showed up she didn't want to go, but when Veda agreed Vesta agreed, too. Where one went the other would follow regardless of where it was... Veda was her home.

On the surface Mari was sweet and polite, the perfect little princess to stand at the side of her prince. Everything about her was what a woman in power should be, at least when she was in front of the powers that be. When they weren't around? The woman was a wild child, parties and running through the woods as fast as she could were what kept her alive. She was fueled by thrill and excitement and loved all things dangerous and adventurous. However all of those things weren't very "woman" like, according to her own mother.

Mari was a perfectionist to a fault and lived her whole life trying to reach her mothers expectations of her. This lead to a woman who was often quite pointed and rude in order to get what she wants.

Marigold was born the youngest of five siblings and the only girl to a pair of well off werewolves. Her father was the alpha of their pack and despite how idiotic her older brothers were, the role would likely be passed onto one of them. This led to Mari being primed for greatness of another kind, training hard in her element and how to act in high society. If she wasn't going to reach greatness as a wolf, she would be one of the best water wielders out there and work her way into a prestigious role.

Mari and Cyprus met in school and it wasn't long before their casual relationship was turned serious by their mothers. It was what they called and "advantageous" opportunity. Cyprus was set to become the next ruler for his family, heir to earth. Mari was strong and able to carry herself well, as well as a woman who would add the respect of her pack to his families already long list of supporters.

After school Mari and Cyprus were officially engaged, party and everything. Now she spent her days at Starburough splitting her time between training and planning a wedding of all weddings.

Everything about Alina's personality was *fake*. Her parents wanted her to be the best of the best, wanted her to marry a king, wanted her to be stronger than anyone else. She became the bubbly, sweet girl everyone wanted, got engaged to her princely Leo, and made herself seem like the perfect little princess. She wasn't just a pretty face or personality though, the girl was strong. She was a storm dragon. Competitive, quick to anger, and (mostly) fearless.

Her relationship with Leo was purely transactional. He wanted a pretty and proper girl on his arm, she wanted him for his status and gold.

Alina comes from a prestigious, competitive home that came with high expectations. She had to be the best of the best in every regard; the prettiest, the strongest of her element, the most eligible bachelorette amongst the high society. Throughout school she was rather cutthroat; besides constantly training she was constantly outshining the other students. It wasn't long before she was noticed by the higherups and earned herself a lofty position at Starburough.

Through her familiar connections and success as an air wielder she met Leo. He was the heir to the fire throne, handsome, rich, he fit all her criteria... even if his personality didn't match well. A jack of all trades, Alina made sure they got along well, morphing her personality to fit his. The pair was adorable together and their families quickly pushed towards an engagement. A dragon and vampire, surely they would make strong heirs.

Now she was engaged to a future king, one of the strongest of the air wielder's, she had achieved all her family wanted her to. Still... there was still a void in her heart and she didn't exactly know why.
