Forum ranking adjustments

I was bored, so I started re-evaluating the forum rankings.


Right now, Jakk Bey is the most prolific poster (next to myself) on the forums, with about 7% of total posts. Assuming he continues to post at his current rate, and the average posts-per-day for the site remains constant, Jakk won't hit the top ranking for another 2.6 years. Others would take even longer. That might be a little harsh.


The current spread looks like this:

nah, don't. Or at least, not much. 3 000- 4 000 maybe? It should be a testament to the insane amount of time-wastage the individual bearing the title has indulged in. Increase the Little God and Greater God limits instead....

What if I changed it to progress in powers of 5, since 5 is such a magical number in Exalted.

I like the power of 5 deal you posed previously. It looks good to me. Except why is Celestine unachievable? I think that should be somewhere around the 5-6000 mark for those who post a butt load and they won't get that title for a few years.

But, thematically, progression by powers of 5 would make the most sense.  


And besides, even with the new guidelines, nobody will ascend for another year or two.  No hoo hoo.

Just for fun, I made a set of Lunar rank insignia, and a script which randomly changes between these, and the Solar version hourly. I will add insignia for the other Exalted types soon.

I'm not sure what to do for Alchemicals. My idea was to have five gears, orichalcum, moonsilver, starmetal, jade, and soulsteel... but I can't make something that tiny that's actually recognizable as a gear... I've tried.

Is it possible to have us choose which exalt type suns we have on display.  Say an option in the profiles or something, based on favorite exalt type.

That would require me to do a bit of forum-code hacking. I'll investigate it, but I can't promise much.

I found a pre-written mod to do just that, but it hasn't been validated by the phpBB team. I'm going to try it anyway. It should be easy enough to reverse if it doesn't work.
