Formatting in Tabs/Accordions?

So, I've been trying to fix some of my old threads that look strange with the new coding, but I'm running into an issue. Previously, I could nest tabs and accordions into each other (I could have several tabs, then have accordions inside them), but that doesn't seem to work now. I can see that being a potentially troublesome bit of coding, so I'm not too worried about it, but I also can't seem to format any text within these items. Even basic things like putting in paragraph breaks disappear when it comes out. I would like to be able to break up large sections of explanation into smaller chunks for ease of navigation, but I can't figure out how to do this in the new system. Does anyone know what to do?

I think this is a current known problem that will be addressed in "The Big Code Update" which is supposed to add in a lot of features that used to be achievable with bbcode.
