Realistic or Modern Forest Hills High School

v i n e

outta my way, son! door stuck!
When your eyes first catch a glimpse of the small brochure sitting on your school counselor’s desk, you can’t help but notice the bright white text set neatly in front of an image of an urban wonderland. A large, modern building accentuated by a sprawling green lawn dotted with oak trees is depicted, and framing the bottom are the words “Forest Hills High School”. Your counselor notes of your interest and hands you a copy, giving you a chance to see the smaller details in the photo; large rectangular windows revealing uniquely decorated club rooms, uniformed students interspersed across the green, and “Birch Hall” chiseled into the side of the building. The pamphlet’s inside is neatly organised, and reads as follows:

Located in beautiful Forest Hills, FHHS is a newly opened venture in education focused on giving highly talented young adults a unique school experience catered to their individual method of learning. Our campus is spread out over four city blocks in the heart of the city, providing an access point to Forest Hills’ rich culture and various thriving industries. Facilities include:

  • Maple Hall, the administration building

  • Willow Hall, the co-ed dormitory building

  • Elm Hall, home of amenities such as the dining hall, library, gymnasium, and the auditorium

  • Birch Hall, containing all classrooms and club rooms

Students are placed into groups of four, and will stay with this group throughout the entire four years of their education. We believe that this is essential to the high school experience, and that this policy mirrors the importance of socialization that students will find in the workplace later in life. Uniforms are required, though FHHS’s Student Store provides a wide array of clothing that fits code.

Our third ever school year begins the first Monday of September, and we hope to see you at orientation!

You turn the pamphlet over in your hands and notice an application form is stapled to the back, and for a moment you can swear your name is written at the top of the page.
