With classes done and the students left to do as they pleased Jade, as usual, ventured to the labs to continue working on her projects. Not only did she have to refit Lightning with a new core but she also had to build an combat droid essentially. The redhead sighed heavily as she made her way over to the work station bringing up various files and diagrams trying to work out the specifics of how she was going to build the puppet droid. With no suitable soldiers around she figured she would have to pilot it her self but that means she now had to compensate for her own short comings. Another level of difficulty on top of figuring out how to cut down on the delay time.

A little robot skittered around on the floor as one engineer was lugging a cart filled with scrap metal. "Arach wait up, you can't even get on the table without me." This fact did not deter the little robot as it tried to scamper up the workshop table metal legs clinking against the side. Almost like a puppy. Dylan sat at the table helping his little robot up. "Alright...now I just gotta get the designs up and running. shouldn't be too hard, hell I got good parts now." He looked rather happy and content, yet then He looked over at Jade sighing. He leaned back in his chair and asked, "Problems?"

Jades mind was going a million miles a minute processing various idea sand designs when she heard the clinking of metal. She glanced over spotting a familiar little spider bot skittering around determined to do the impossible. She had to admit for someone who came from a scrap heap Dylan did a decent job with the little bot. His skills with AI were well practiced even if the creations acted more like animals than actual droids. Still it was impressive enough. She looked over at the boy as he spoke up leaning back in his chair lazily. "Hm? No... thinking... I have various different designs and models to use but I am not sure which to use. Combat is always so varied and unpredictable so making something that is ready for all occasions would be best. Still hard to compensate one fault for another with out design issues." She rambled eyes traveling back to the wall of diagrams she had brought up.

Dylan nodded, "Yeah, that's why I'm going to make mine fairly adaptable." he pointed at Arach, "My plan for a droid is to make him a "big brother." At this the little droid tapped it's little legs in glee, rapidly clinking, in apparent joy. "It's an old plan, involving a nano-fabricator, and a few lasers. I got the specs up, I never spent much time updating it. Probably could use a second set of eyes to look it over." he pressed a few buttons on his workshop terminal, "You wanna see? I've got the base blueprints. Anansi, named after an African folk tale about a spider god." He sent the base blueprints to Jade's terminal. "One word jade, just one. Minelayer."

Jade looked over at the design of the spider droid tilting her head as she took in it's complexities It seemed fairly stable and functional if a little fragile. The numerous joints would be targeted weak points. Not to mention one good shot from something to the holding cell for the mines could potentially spell game over for the bot. "Hm there's a few weaknesses.... I would reinforce the joints more, there are many of them and they make easy targets. The mine hull needs more protection as well. It does seem like a good sturdy design though. Might stand a chance of surviving."

Dylan nodded, "That's what the nano fabricator is for. See if i can just have it create the mines, then I won't have to store all the things that could make it explode. it could just create it on it's own. the problem is is getting the fabricator to work incredibly fast." He then looked at the joint problem she already identified. "Yeah. the joints are a little on the weak side. I do need to make sure those aren't going to give out." Looking over back at her he pointed at her screen, "How about you? Got anything concrete out and about? Or are you formulating an idea right now?"

"Interesting..." she muttered in response to the fabricators. The test runs were going to be interesting to say the least. She sighed softly looking back to the wall of diagrams. "I'm not building a droid but rather the Alleluia system. I will most likely be piloting it my self so something similar to lighting is preferable however there are several flaws I will have to take into account, lightning is good for steal but is built too light to take many hits so a hybrid of designs will have to be done in order to ensure a well rounded puppet..." she muttered eyes scanning over the diagrams playing a puzzle game in her head of which pieces fit where. "Still one major problem is going to be the control system, as advanced as it is compared to the original there is still a delay." She shrugged "Still more conceptual work more than anything else.

Dylan furrowed his brow in thought, "Still a delay? How significant are we talking in regards to that? seconds? miliseconds?" Then again he thought to himself, maybe it was just Jade doing her usual thing. To her it seemed that no mechanical machine was good enough at some point everything had to have perfect timing, everything had to be optimized, everything had to be neat and tidy. He tapped his fingers on the workbench, and shrugged, "You know maybe you would come up with a solution if you actually took a break." He paused and thought about what he just said. "Wait no you never take breaks...Try to do something monotonous for a bit, work on wields. Type out code. tackle some minor problem and maybe a solution will present itself. Or do what I did, make the equivalent of a dog." With that he grabbed a medium sized ball bearing and rolled it across the floor. His little droid immediately skittered off the table in pursuit. He smiled, "See all the fun of a dog none of the mess! You should give it a try."

"Several milliseconds...." She muttered "Enough to be noticeable..." She sighed smoothing her hair back from her face as she scanned over the core system mechanics that would be provided. It was a standard issue core, granted it was master level. There was still improvements that could be made. She quirked a brow at the suggestion of a break, she had barely gotten started what sense was that. She observed as he rambled then suggested making some sort of pet. "While the idea of a self sufficient pet might be amusing to some I rather put my time into something more... productive." She replied "Besides I already have one droid following me I have no need for another." She added pointing to Digit. The purple droid had placed its self on the table and was sitting quietly. Earlier threats of disassembling had stopped its banter. She sighed softly looking back to the schematics. "Besides There is a time limit, three weeks is not a lot of time especially when factoring in testing."

Dylan shook his head, "yeah sure, you got a bot following that you constantly threaten to disassemble because it's preforming it's job." He looked over raising an eyebrow, "Be honest with me, have you at any point started to suffer from dehydration? But you bot wouldn't tell you because of the constant threats?" He began typing in a few schematics in a data-pad, still he continued on. "Actually even better question, How many times has it told you to breathe in the last three weeks?" If it's less than 5 I'll be shocked. He sighed shaking his head as he held out his hand over a pile of metal, a thin mist enveloped the scrap pile as the nanobots began to re-assemble the scrap into something useful. "I'm kinda worried what would happen if you did disassemble DIGIT..."

Jade crossed her arms as she stared at the monitors "Digit is very vocal despite my threats..." she grumbled. "And I haven't had to be reminded to breath in several weeks." Last reminder was 18 days ago. the little robot chimed in. Jade glared at it and sighed. "It's more trouble to disassemble Digit than its worth. Last time I tried it found it very difficult to get past the defensive mode shields. Truth be told in a tight spot Digit would make a great decoy." Jade mused aloud making a mental not to test that theory. "Either way, I am perfectly capable of taking care of my self thank you very much." She deafened as she started to piece together a model suit.

Dylan sighed as he got out of his chair, Arach immediately jumping to the floor behind him. "Digit, she takes you apart I'll reassemble you don't worry." He cracked his knuckles, "I've got...a few hours before the metal takes the shape I want. I'll come back later." He was about to walk out of the door when he turned back. "You want anything from dinner tonight? Burger? pizza? pasta? sandwich? Or do you feel like eating nothing again?"

"The offer is very much appreciated" digit spoke up. Jade just rolled her eyes as she broke down another diagram to its base component. She glanced over as he start to leave. "Surprise me" she called over not really caring much if/ what he brought back. He seemed to be very persistent, more so than digit at times.

A few hours passed and Jade made a lot of progress on her projet. She manged the get a model and diagram dome as well as the base coding for the core system. She smirked as she checked over everything once more "I think that should work nicely..."

Dylan walked back into the workshop rapidly taping on his datapad with on hand. Meanwhile awkwardly trying to type the coding with a hand filled with two brown bags. The coding was taking more than a bit of time, however that was to be expected. One did not simply write a code for a robot in a night, and even with some bits of potential close already on record they needed to be updated. Arach came up close behind scuttling around, instead of doing it's usual thing of heading straight to the desk, it made a B-line for jade and circled around her a few times. It stopped halfway through the third and then scuttled off to his makers Desk. Dylan sat down and looked over to Jade. "Pizza...an old earth recipe, Hawaiian style."

Jade hummed to herself as she scanned over the last bit of her schematics deeming it worthy of a prototype. The rapid clink of metal on metal could be heard approaching and a rapid pace signaling Jade that Dylan had returned. She shifted her gaze away from her work as the little spider droid circled around her before heading to the table. She found the little thing so strange and mostly useless. It did have it's functions that were useful but the primary purpose of a pet was fairly pointless. Then again Jade's idea of a companion was digit with out a voice modular. Silent, helpful, efficient, and stayed out of the way. The redhead sighed softly as she got up from the desk to inspect the contents of the bag. She wasn't a fan of Hawaiian but wasn't about to complain either. "Thank you." She muttered starting to pick off the little yellow fleshy cubes. "Your scraps seemed to have finally finished molding it's self."

Dylan looked over at the scrap that jade pointed out he chuckled as looked over it, "there we go! now I just have to do this a few more times with a few more pieces. By that I mean at least a dozen or so more times...I really need a better implant, unfortunately, money just isn't in it as of right now." He shrugged looking at floor, "maybe I'll find something on Pandora, That would be great, Arch tech nano-assembler!" He then scratched his chin in thought, "then again knowing the Arch tech...it'd probably spawn a grey cloud of nano-tech, and start dissembling everything in sight... terrifying concept really. But enough about imagination and what ifs, speaking of the practical, what have you done in the meantime?"
