Flight to Your Heart (SnowFeather x Dethbycoffee)

Tirek's face turned stern as soon as Venice was gone. He growled. "You're one of them. You're human," he hissed, lashing his tail. He clawed at the rocks, creating deep cuts. "Which means you can't leave. I will make you stay, one way or another. That way, we can make sure you'll keep our secret. The secret, of The Ancients.." He said, gentler. He sat down. "You said it yourself, you do not know dragon customs. So you will have a tutor of some sort." He said calmly. He let out a screech, and directed his gaze towards a rock face.

From behind the rock face came a girl. She had long, blonde hair that reached below her ribs and glowing blue eyes. She walled with confidence and her skirt blew in the wind, her blouse hugging her curves. She was perfection itself. "Thank you, Venice," Tirek said, and the girl smiled. "No problem, Papa," she replied happily.

Shanx couldn't help the growl that bubbled in his chest as the larger male growled and hissed at him, anger bubbling his blood at the thought he was going to be a captive of these dragons. His tail lashed at the ground behind him as he bit back the snarl that threatened to rip from his chest. He shifted his weight uneasily, his injured leg buckling under him, and making screech in pain. He drew backward, anger, pain, and a bit of fear shining clear in his eyes as he looked at Tirek. "I know the dangers of telling humans about dragons. Why do you think I was forced to flee my own home? Why do you think I lost my parents?" he growled angrily, more out of hurt than anything as he stared at the ground. He didn't want to fight, but he didn't like orders either. "I wouldn't dare bring that kind of danger to some of the last of the dragons." he hissed softly. He looked back at his injured leg, and sighed heavily, his mind and body taxed to it's limits from recent events.

Finally, the slim black dragon's scales shimmered, and he shifted down until he was in his human form. He landed heavily on the ground, his jet black hair a mess, and a large gash in his left thigh. "Oh good. The wound wasn't worse for me." he muttered as he peered at the gash, shaking his head. He laid back on the ground, staring at the clear sky. It was easier to control his temper in this form, and so that's how he stayed. "If it ensures my life, how ever little that means, I'll obey. For now." he said, still looking skyward as he spoke.

(Oh, okay.)

Tirek growled again. "This, is Venice. You met her before. She is my daughter, and she will be teaching you dragon customs," he explained, shoving Venice towards the human, making her dig her heels into the ground, making him stop. She glared at the dragon before she ran a hand through her hair and looked down at the human. Yes, perfection she was. "I can't believe this.." She whispered to herself.

Shanx blinked at the woman who now stood above him, slightly confused. She was familiar, and her scent was certainly the same. His eyes widened, "You're like me!" he exclaimed suddenly, taken aback by the realization. He sat up, wincing in pain as his muscles pulled at the wound in his leg. "Venice, huh?" he asked, nodding his head. "Nice to meet you. I already told you my name." he said with a smirk. He sighed, and looked to Tirek, "I should thank you, but I'm not so sure..." he started, and then bit his lip. "Never mind. I was about to probably get myself into more trouble than it's worth." he sighed, and laid back on the ground again. "Thanks." he muttered, and glanced at Venice, "I learn fast." he said in a slightly sarcastic, but also slightly reassuring tone.

Venice raised an eyebrow. Weird presentation? Yes. Did she care? No. She narrowed her eyes and kicked his side, hard. "Get up, jackass," she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest. She looked up at Tirek, to find him gone. She growled and clenched her fists. "I said get up!" She called over her shoulder.

Shanx winced, yelping in pain as she kicked him in the side. He groaned, glaring in anger as he rolled and pushed himself up until he was sitting up again. "The fuck was that for?" he demanded, glaring at Venice. He winced, rubbing his side, "That was no way to treat a guest." he teased, biting back a bit of a smirk as he groaned and pushed himself off the ground. He attempted to stand, though his legs shook and trembled from the strain they had been put through with his mad dash through his old city home, and then the wound in his left leg. He yawned, though he tried to bite it back, and rubbed his face. "I hurt in places I never knew I could hurt." he muttered under his breath, attempting to stretch his limbs and merely succeeding in causing himself to collapse back to the ground.

Venice facepalmed herself and sighed. "Idiot.." She muttered. She turned to look at him and shook her head. She walked up to him and crouched. She grabbed his arm and put it 'round her shoulders, her arm around his waist. She helped him sit up and then stand. "Alright, let's move," she muttered, short compared to Shanx. Venice helped him walk, her eyes glowing and her hair blowing in the wind.

Shanx growled slightly as she helped him up, "I've got this. Where are we going anyway?" he asked, moving his arm from around her shoulders, and taking a step away from her. He stumbled slightly, but held his balance, his over strained muscles still trembling as they tried to hold his weight. "Lead the way, princess." he said, motioning for her to lead on.

Venice looked at him. "Yeah where we're going, you'll die alone. Good luck," she muttered and turned away. She started walking again. "Also, if you call me princess one more time I'll rip our your throat and feed it to the baby dragons," she called over her shoulder with a smirk.

Shanx rolled his eyes, "So violent." he muttered, but followed after Venice. "I thought the title suited you. You called Tirek dad and I'm assuming he's alpha or kind or whatever you call the leader. So it seemed appropriate I call you princess rather than by name." he shrugged, wincing as his leg wound throbbed horribly. He had to stop for a moment to let the pain settle back down before continuing to limp slowly after the blonde woman.

Venice had stopped, awaiting him. "He isn't my real father, but he is kind of like one in every way. Princess, yes that would be appropriate. Yet, even though all The Ancients tolerate me, they would never accept a human as a Princess.." She whispered. She held out her arm, offering him her help.

Shanx shrugged, and ignored her offered arm. He was determined not to show to much weakness and rely on this woman like a cripple. He could walk, even if it was slow, and that's what he was going to do. His pride wouldn't let him do anything less. "Let's just get wherever we are going so I can sit. Lay down. Something. I'm exhausted from my run from death." he said, switching subjects quickly. "And I understand you were told to teach me of dragon customs and whatnot, but I'd rather get some sleep first. I hurt, and ache all over, and just want to take a nice long nap." he murmured, biting back another yawn.

Venice rolled her eyes. "We are going to the caves, where no dragon goes. You can sleep there," she mumbled, catching up to him easily. She knew he was too 'prideful' to accept her help, and sighed. "Males.." She muttered.

Shanx shrugged, "Understood." he said simply. He limped after Venice as she lead him through the mountains to the caves she spoke up, glad to finally be able to sit. He groaned and shifted himself back to his lithe, slim dragon self and curled up in the back. "Solitary. Not something I'm not used to." he said to himself, though he knew it wasn't exactly solitary. Venice was there as well, but he couldn't exactly count her. She was at least in part accepted by the dragons of these mountains, so she had a place here. He, clearly, did not, but he wasn't going to let that bother him, nor was he going to let that be known that it even bothered him.

Venice sat down in her human form and closed her eyes. She shifted, her scales emerging and she turned into her slim dragon form. She curled up a bit away from Shanx and closed her eyes, curling her head and tail around her body.

It was well after dark when Shanx woke, his body aching like nothing he had felt before, but at least he felt more stable. His muscles has rested and he was able to move a little better even if it hurt. He yawned widely, and lifted his head, peering around the cave. He spotted Venice quickly, curled in her dragon form, and seemingly asleep as well. He sighed, and shifted back down again, trying to be quiet as he examined his leg wound. It was already healing fairly quickly, and hadn't bled in some time. That was a good sign. Nor was the flesh red and hot, which allowed him to think at least it wasn't infected. He cleaned it up some, and then took the scarf from around his neck, and tied it tight around his thigh. "That should do." he mumbled softly, and pushed off the ground. He winced in pain, but found his legs were able to hold his weight without trembling now, though he still had to favor the left side. He nodded, and shuffled for the mouth of the cave.

"Where, are you going?" She asked as she raised her head. Venice studied Shanx and blinked.

(Gtg)

Shanx paused, and looked back at the white dragon. "To relieve myself, and maybe find something to take the edge off my hunger." he said simply. "Or does Tirek expect me to starve to death?" he asked sarcastically over his shoulder as he continued for the mouth of the cave.

Venice rolled her eyes and shifted, laying down on her side and closing her eyes. She looked so peaceful. She sighed and her blonde hair covered most of her face. She decoded to rest for a while, but found herself not being able to sleep.

Shanx yawned as he shuffled through the landscape, keeping note on where he passed so that he could remember how to get back. After a decent distance, he found a place to relieve himself, and then set out to hunt. He didn't have any weapons, so it was going to be hard, but if he had to, he could probably shift just fine to catch something. If he could get close enough. The injured leg was far more a hindrance to his dragon self than his human self.

(( Sorry, my notifications have been bugging up.. ))

Venice heard a noise, and sat up, growling. She rose to her feet and walked out of the cave. She had caught a scent, and it was a bad one. Rouges. And they were coming in fast. She looked for Shanx's scent trail, and once she found it, she started following it.

--My apologies, honestly... I can't think of where to keep this going. I've lost my muse for many of my rps since my grandfather's knee surgery.... I'll need to respectfully bow out. I'm sorry I wasn't able to tell you sooner than now. I spent the last few days trying to think of a reply, but I just can't get one to write out....
