Vice Game Manager

I have appointed Dragoneer Irako as my vice-GM. She's got a good grasp of storytelling and keen insight into how I think. She's also really good at being brutally honest, so have an early warning.

Rules of Teambuilding

This is not meant to be a hardcore battle simulator. The focus will be on plot and, character development. I don’t want you to run around with competitive battle teams. Thus, I am imposing level limits on pokemon builds.

  • Champion(s) up to 65
  • Elite Four up to 60 (matching type)
  • Gym Leaders up to 55 (matching type)
  • All others up to 50.

  • If you have smogon open when building your character, you’re doing it wrong.
  • You don't have to determine things like stats, IVs, or EVs..
  • Each player is allowed one pokemon that can go mega (assuming it has a canon mega evolution)
  • The following megas have been claimed (I'd like to avoid repeats) Aggron, Absol, Gengar
  • Held items don’t exist, so no megacite required. Instead the trainer should instead have some token that signifies the bond.
  • If they can’t learn it in any game, they can’t learn it in the RP.

Brownie Points for:

  • Keeping with your faction's themes.
  • Having less than 6 pokemon.
  • In general, scaling it back.
  • Graciously losing sometimes.

PS: If you and another player want to make a battle believable, a great tool for determining one on one battle outcomes is pokemonshowdown.com. You can recreate a character's team there and save the details to a .txt file. The site also will keep a record of the completed battle that you can use for reference while writing up a post. You can also swap friend codes, recreate a character's team in your Pokemon game, and duke it out that way. Or you can discuss via the OOC thread or PMs what you and the people you'll be fighting want to happen. Collaboration is key, and it's important to demonstrate good playmanship towards your fellow players. No sore losers or winners in real life, though it's totally acceptable behavior from characters who are so inclined.
