Fix a Heart

Matreania

Expect the unexpected, it expects you
Vanessa couldn't take the silence, her apartment just felt completely empty. The sound of rain echoed through the windows and she just couldn't take it anymore. Her tears had already started up again and she felt like she would die if she didn't get out of there. It took her keys from the table by the door and locked the apartment as she walked out. Outside, the rain was coming down harder then she thought but it didn't matter.

Crossing her arms over her chest to stay some kind of warm she walked with tears and rain mixing all around her. She could tell them apart by the warmth but other then that, they felt the same. Lost, forgotten and full of pain. She just wasn't sure she wanted to even go through another morning of crying or another night of it. The pain was getting to her and she wasn't sure if it was worth it anymore.

Dakota was walking home from work when it started raining. "Great." He mumbled to himself seeing he had forgotten his umbrella at home. although he knew it could be worse and that he could be homeless or suffering from serious illness. When he turned to walk into his appart ment complex he noticed someone standing outside in the rain. Within a few seconds he realized who it was.

"Hey are you ok?" He asked her as he walked towards her. It was hard to tall if she was crying or it was just the rain but for the past few days he had noticed that she seemed to be a Upset and dealing with some issues. "Don't cry." He said softly he could tell she was upset because her eyes were red. "Why don't you come inside and talk about what's going on."

Normally she would just snap at him, Dakota was a co-worker and since she meet him, he had been playing Mr. Nice Guy. Ness wanted to snap at him, she couldn't stop crying. Without thinking she wrapped her arms around him and placed her head on his chest as she cried. She couldn't help it and she didn't want to not now. She just wanted to cry and for someone to be there, she didn't care who.

Dakota when she hugged me I hugged her back and gently rubbed her back. "Shh it's going to be ok." I said softly as I grabbed her and picked her fully up into my arms. "Come one let's go inside and get you dried up." I said as I walked towards my little apartment with her in my arms.

Ness wasn't sure if it was the cold or the warms she was feeling most. She walked with him, without a second thought. It wasn't any reason behind her following him. She didn't want to get out of the rain or even cared who she was with. She just cried as she followed his lead and tried to stop thinking.

Once inside he handed her a towel. "Why don't you dry yourself up and then we can talk. I'll be right back I'm going to change real quick." He said to her as he went into his room and changed comming back out a few minutes later.

Ness sighed, wrapping her tears away with the towel and then her face, but not much else. She looked shyly around, she hadn't really thought that she would be here. She took a deep breath before seating on the floor by the door, curling her knees against her chest, laid her head on her knees and looked lostly away.

Dustin sighed softly as he knelt down infront of her. "Hey." He said and waved his hand infront of her face trying to get her attention.

Lazily she looked up at him, "Yeah." she whispered, her voice faint in it way of being heard. She looked tired and she felt like she cold cry again but she tried hard not to.

"Why don't you tell me what's up?" He asked her curiously as he gently took her hand. "Also is there something I could get you? Like some tea or just anything to drink." He asked curiously

"No." she said quietly. She let out a sigh, then took in a deep breath before she started to cry again, My boyfriend broke up with me a while back and I just don't understand it. I don't get it and can't tell my family or my friends and I have no idea what I'm doing." she cried, sobbing as she laid her head down between her knees.

"Why can't you tell anyone? I'm sure they'll support you." He said slightly confused he understood breakups were hard but he couldn't see why she couldn't go to her family. Unless she was pregnant and afraid to tell them.

Ness glared at him, "We wouldn't understand, if you have to ask that question." For that moment she was fine, but as soon as she got that out she was back to crying.

"Maybe if you explained I would. I'm just one guy who's pretty ignorant when it comes to relationships seeing I have never been in one." I said not appriceating that she had snapped at me but I was staying cool.

Ness froze, looking up at him, she smiled, "Never?" she asked, biting her lip. She hadn't expected that, she didn't know anything about him, but she was pretty sure he would have at least had one girlfriend.

"Never I have always been friendzoned. now would you like to explain what's wrong?" He asked her softly as he sat down and gently took her hand.

Seating up straight she smiled, "Friend zoned. I guess that would be you. You are always asking what's wrong, like a friend would." She dried her eyes with the towel and looked at him for a moment. "Can I have some tea?"

"Yeah." He said as he got up and put some water in the tea pot and put it on the stove. "So what is wrong?" He asked and laughed a little she was right this was the reason he got friend zoned. For some reason he couldnt understand women only seemed to like to date the guys who were rude to them.

She followed him into the kitchen, "Please stop asking that. I already said more then I wanted to say to anyone. And I rather not cry in front of you anymore then I already have."

He just laughed and rolled his eyes. "Ok then but don't expect me to understand." He said seeing that she had snapped at him for his ignorance earlier. When he heard the tea kettle he went over and started to prepare her drink then took it to her.

"Thanks." she said, taking a sip and smiled, "I see you have an act for comfort." She looked around, "Do you have anything I can change into, I'm still pretty wet."

"Umm you a little small so my clothing will be big." He said getting up and walking into his room and grabbing her a change of clothing and handing it to her. "Nothing flattering but it will do." He said and laughed.

She smiled, "Thanks, no one to flatter anyway." She smirked, looking around for a moment before she asked, "Where can I get changed?"

"Right around the corner is my bed room or down the hall way and to the left is the bathroom." He said to her he was still curious about what was wrong.

"Thanks." she retrieve the towel ad headed towards the bathroom. It was be weird changing in his room, so the bathroom was the safest place to change. She slipped out of her wet clothes, drying herself off, before rapping her hair in the towel and putting his clothes on. She hung her clothes in the tube, before going out to meet him again, and drink some more tea, "I wasn't sure what to do with my clothes, so I just hung them up in your bathroom."
